Email said they are from Amazon and my account is being charged I called the number they gave me on my email thinking about it I then called Amazon ( different) number and was told I have no charges in my account.

Don’t want anyone to have this problem thanking you in advance

Call (11:30 am today) said a charge of over $1000 was made on my Amazon account and they wanted to know if it was a legit charge. When I said, “nope, didn’t order anything recent, take it off” and then kept listing what I’d bought from Amazon recently (underwear, socks, batteries, cat food, etc..) none of which were even close to $1000 price tag, never giving my account number nor my credit card info, they finally just hung upon me. I’m sick of these scammers who target old people.

Received two telephone calls from supposed Amazon Customer Support informing me to select option 1 on the phone to learn about a large pending purchase on my account. I do not have an Amazon account and knew it wasn't genuine. Called the number that called me, a message stated it was not a working number.

I received a strange phone call today from 480-280-2073 a recording said my Amazon Prime account was going to auto renew on my bank account they had on file for $39. I don't have an Amazon Prime Account. I pressed "1" to speak with someone and the person came on and he guided me to this website www.anydesk.com. He told me to download the AnyDesk software. He said by pressing the download button, this is how I would be able to cancel the Amazon Prime account from auto renewing. I did not download this and told him I was going to research this with the BBB. I did receive a call back from a similar number 480-280-1494 about an hour later and did not answer the call. I believe this was a scam to obtain personal information or to download a virus to my computer.

Keeps saying a purchase is going to be put on my plastic card unless I call this number, it is not a working number.

They told me that I had a charge on my Amazon account. There is no charges and we did not order anything. I am sure we did not do this, this is a scam.

Company purporting to be Amazon Ca calls to tell me to say i need to log into my Amazon account release the cancellation refund for Prime (which i did cancel afew weeks back). As a professional trained to spot phishing and spam attempts this seemed off, they were rude, aggressive and asked which platform i requested the refund on. Clearly a red flag as if they were an Amazon representative theyd be able to access this information.

I received a phone call from the Above number. He said he was with Amazon and wanted to confirm my purchase of a $1300 iPhone. Just press 1 to confirm and 2 to cancel. I just hung up and called Amazon. After investigation he said there were no calls made to my number from Amazon and there is no such order on my account. He did relay however that they receive these calls daily for phones, TVs , computers. Gaming consoles. Etc. They are a scam. Lucky you hung up. Some people pressed 2 to cancel and they were asked questions about their Amazon login, bank Accounts, etc. So no matter if you pressed 1 or 2, they were simply trying to steal your information. Just hang up or better yet end the above number into your contacts, then block it so you don't get a call from them.

I received a call telling me there was $700 plus charged on my amazon account. He asked did I authorize this charge? I said not at all. I was then transferred to a foreign individual a man who I questioned him regarding being a scammer. He said no, for me to treat him as my son. After this call involved over an hour and much more conversation, I was told I needed to go to Walmart and get an apple gift card using the 200$ that he had just put into my bank account(without thinking I hadn't given him my account number) So I went to Walmart and since I was in there longer, he specified I needed to buy 2 gift cards for 200$ each. He wouldn't let me get just one gift card for 400$. When I got outside, he wanted me to get away from everyone and he said don't get on the bus, and call him. I did that. He said he wanted me to clear off the back of both cards and then read those numbers to him. That's when I told him he was a low-life scammer. He called me with the intent to scam me, but the jokes on him, I have the cards, money, and his stupidity. I told him he just got scammed by me. I said I was calling the police right now and hung up the phone. I came home and notified the police, who came and complimented me on being a very smart cookie. I have the gift cards and the cash register receipts locked up in my safe. Today I called the Attorney Generals Office and they are sending me a complaint form to complete and send back to them.

I am disabled widow in an electric wheelchair, I live in an assisted living facility, my daughter passed away three years ago one year after my hubby's death.

This text included a "Dear customer, your purchase from Amazon for $599.99 is successful and has been kept on hold for your approval. Please call us back within 24hours on (701)-638-1558 for any dispute or we will release your item. Thank you team Amazon security." They also called and it was from North Dakota. The person who received this text does not even have their own Amazon account.

I am not sure on what their goal was, but it was weird for sure!

Our household received several phone calls on the same day, Saturday August 28, 2021. The calls started about 10 am until about 8 pm. The calls stated that we needed to push a number to talk with Amazon customer care representatives. The calls came from the same prefix of 901-357- with the last four numbers being different, such as 357-1130, 1371, 2609, 3596, 3159, 4927, 5046, 5795, 9200, and 9332. The 901-357 was previously used as the phone company's exchange number for the Frayser community in Memphis, Tn. This is also the area where I have lived. It is as if the callers think that us senior citizens will fall for and answer the calls because we recognize the prefix numbers.

Please and thank you for handling this potential scam.

The phone call is a recording. That your account is being used buy someone. And you need to talk to someone in the fraud department. Press one to reach the department. When you press one it sends you to another recording saying that the mail box is full and everyone is on another call.
