Amazon Imposter Reports & Reviews (1462)

Someone from Amazon called saying there were fraudulent charges on my account and transferred me to someone at the “department of treasury” who then wanted me to secure my funds my sending my money offshore.

I received a text message from Amazon today. It came from 844-544-1653. The message included order number 46597. It stated all in caps. Your card was used to make a transaction for $645.68. It does not say for what item. I called the number. It was for an i phone 11. She directed me to the Security Department. They wanted me to put an app on my phone to create a fake account. This was to put a Chime Account. He read an email. I got too suspicious and hung up. I did not trust it. I contacted Amazon and my bank. I was told by Amazon they do not send text messages. Amazon assured me there was no transaction on my account. They suggested I change my password.

They gave me a run around about an amazon account and then transferred me so I could get a new SS# issued. That's how I knew it was a scam

asking about an order for $658.00 to verify my personal information

I received a scam call from Amazon. It was a live person not a robocall. I have been an Amazon customer for eight years. Caller said something about an Apple computer I ordered. I did not order an Apple computer. I don't know the dollar amount. I did not let the call get that far. I hung up. I wanted to report the phone call.

Issue with Prime TV, would not let me log on and number popped up on TV which was 833-485-1548. Was told to correct the issue with Prime Account. Contacted the number on the screen and a individual told me in order to correct the issue I would have to pay $700 but would be refunded. Told me I had to buy 3 best buy xbox gift cards and 7 Walmart gift cards totaling $700. When I purchased the gift cards and called him back with the information and awaiting my refund. I was told that the gift cards are stuck in the server and are unable to be refunded. I would need to purchase more all together totaling $1500 including the ones that were already purchased, and again would receive a refund for all. When I called my credit card companies they told me I could not dispute the charges for the cards because I physically bought them.

I received an email for Amazon claiming my account had been hacked and they asked for personal information to verify my account. They also sent a code to my phone requesting I give it to them

I received a call from 250 597-4051; because it was a local # I picked it up, it was a recording claiming my Amazon account had been charged $1044 and saying they identified it as a "suspicious" charge. Then the voice said press #1 for further information. I pressed #1 and a person answered and asked, "How can I help you?" I said "You can't" and hung up.

The caller says they are from Amazon. They asked if I ordered an iPhone 11 Pro, and to push 1 for yes, and 2 for no. Then it put me in contact with a person to get more information.

I have been called multiple times by 'Amazon' asking me to authorize a purchase of $999 for an iPhone. Most of the times I have just hung up. Once I keyed in that I would not authorize and was forwarded to 'customer service'. At that point I hung up.

When I answered the phone, a recording Came on saying my Amazon account would be debited $500 + and the ‘iPhone 13 that I had ordered would arrive in a few days. They said if I hadn’t ordered one to press 1, otherwise hang up and the debit would occur.

I was comfortable hanging up anyway as I don’t even have an Amazon account!

Used my email to scam me to believe that I bought a iPhone 13 and I am tp pay 1909.9

Someone sent me a weird flyer saying someone tried to order a computer on my Amazon credit card. I did not order a computer. They wanted me to call 877-715-1122. I did and they told me they'll put my card on a temporary freeze and instructed me to go to my local Whole Foods and buy an Amazon card. But instead, I called Amazon directly and reported this.

Received a call from J****** ****** - 412-216-**** stating that he is with Amazon and looking to authorize a purchase of $499 to amazon account. When I stated I would not authorize the purchase, they stated that someone in Texas was using my information and a warrant is out for my arrest in Texas. Gave me a case #*******.

Hung up on him.

Jacob at (855) 231-8730 contacted us to let us know that our Amazon account has been hacked and that someone in Texas has charged our account $591.39. The confirmation number provided as well.

Apple I phone. Purchase.

I receiving calls from 716-281-7454 saying that I have an account with Amazon and purchased $289+ dollars in merchandise.

In the last 5 years I've only made one purchase over $200 and I have that item in my possession already.

I think this is a dummy account set up in my name and will be used in the future to purchase items under this account once it is verified.

My phone rang this afternoon and I only answered it because it was so similar to my personal cell number (same prefix). A recording (robot) said they were calling me to notify me that a purchase was just made to my Amazon account of an Apple iPhone and a Mac computer, totaling more than $1400. It then instructed me to "press 1" if I had any other questions or concerns. Of course I pushed 1 since I had not made any such purchases! A man with a heavy Indian accent answered the phone and said I reached Amazon. I could hear lots of other people with accents talking in the background and I knew instantly it was a boiler room and this was a scam. I immediately hung up and reported it to Amazon. I also wanted to report it to ScamPulse.com because you all do such a great job of warning people about scams. Thank you for all that you do to help us avoid becoming victims!

They sent me a text saying that I needed to confirm a purchase for $1099.00 that I did not make.

Received 11 phone calls every 15 minutes from different names all claiming you need to press 1 to unauthorize an amazon purchase or press 2 to authorize a $900.00 purchase. Each time the've used a different call back # and a different name. ( #'s 509-359-0959; 509-622-2531; 509-164-0242; 509-832-8644)

(Names used: Seattle; Unavailable; Kennewick; Spokane; Cruz Gladys;Toll Free; MooMaw Hearing; US Cellular; Saratoga Spg Nls;

Bricker Gl NA; JEHOVAHIS GOD LL.)

I did not answer any of the calls, they all went to message. Continual harassment should be criminal offense!
