Type of a scam Phishing

Caller was a woman, did not identify herself. Started call with "Is this 'name'?". I responded "Yes, can I help you?" Caller waited two seconds and hung up, never said another word. I knew they got what they needed with my "yes". Has to be a scam, and I fell for it.

When the reply was "yes" .... caller hung up.

This appears to be the "recorded yes scam" that we have heard about on TV news.

This happened on Mar 6, 2017 (today).

Notified bank and credit card companies.....no unlawful charges at this time.

Recorded message asked me a question to which I answered "Yes", then hung up. Haven't lost money or been signed up for any services yet based on my affirmative response, but I fear that this will happen. Reporting ASAP so the number is on file. I'm answering "yes" to the question "Did the scammer attempt to take money?" because I know of no other reason for this call. It hasn't happened yet though.

Call received 3/1/17. Person stated something to the effect that this was a recorded call and can you hear me? I wasn't paying a lot of attention and initially stupidly said "yes" followed immediately by nononononononononono! Not sure if they recorded my "yes" and didn't get the "no's"; however, immediately got the response - I understand, goodbye. Notified my credit card companies to send me alerts on any/all uses of my cards.

There is a auto-recording of a bubbly young lady asking if you are interested in free home security. After asking 3 times without an answer, she will hang up.

The same bubbly auto-recording from the same number also called saying she was from "customer service" and asks if you can hear her ok.
