The person quickly identified themselves and I couldn't understand what they said. He began asking me questions that I would answer yes or no to. Mostly yes. Once he got a few yes questions answered, he hung up

The phone call came on my landline from a trusted source: Guthrie Clinic 607-438-4533 that I recognized. Apparently it was spoofed, and the man asked me if I could hear him. Since I trusted the caller, and it did seem as if he had a poor connection, I answered "Yes, I can." He then hung up immediately, and that alerted me to this scam.

The person called asking "Is this ********" and eventually I said yes and he kept on asking "Can you hear me" multiple times and when I asked who this was he did not say or mumbled something random

Call from 352-946-3719 at 6pm on 11/8/2024. Answered call, after a few seconds of silence a female voice said, "hello? hello? Can you hear me?" I responded "I do," and the call hung up. Similar to/matches the "can you hear me" scam reported by ScamPulse.com that either attempts to record affirmative vocalization for nefarious use and/or confirms number for future targeting.

So they're pretending to be persons who are trying to get you to sign up for one of the benefit cards that help by your food, they also tricked me into saying the word yes after trying so hard not to. as soon as I said yes they hung up

Got a random call today on my cell phone from a semi-local #. Caller was a male with an Asian accent and kept saying "Hello...can you hear me??". I did not respond, and the caller hung up after about 10 seconds.
