I answered the phone and the voice said "I this is Josh from the customer service department. Can you hear me ok." I was unaware that this scam was going around. so I did say "okay?" Kind of questionable. Now I hear that this scam was going around trying to get you to answer 'YES'. So I hope I didn't mess up by saying 'ok'.

Received a phone call today from local number. The lady said something about her headset then ask if my name was ------. I said yes not thinking and she said because I had visited a resort in the past in Florida I qualified for a discounted trip/cruise including breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 2 nights. She ask if I was 18 or older and I said "I am" and she said excuse me I didn't get that. I repeated it and she kept saying the same thing. I realized then that something wasn't right so I hung up. Called the number back and it said the survey had ended.

I didn't think anything about it being she said my name and she sounded like a real person.

Twice I received a call from the same voice, I didn't realize it was recorded. She said something about adjusting her headset and asked if I could hear her now, and I responded yes both times without catching myself and hanging up.

What can I do about this? I am already on the Do Not call registry but it does not stop any of these types calls at all. I hope I am not about to get scammed out of any money or anything else just by saying the would yes to the question "can you hear me now".

Call from an unknown number asking if I could hear them. I said yes. Automated voice then started talking about something and I hung up. I tried calling back to see if they would answer but all it said was "Thank you, the survey you were contacted for is now complete, press 9 if you wish to be removed from future surveys."

I received a recording of a man asking if I could hear them. I didn't say yes but made a noise and then realized it was in fact a recording. The recording said that I had won a trip or something because I was trying to hang up. Now I fear I am now a victim of the current scam I'm reading about.

I keep getting calls from different numbers inColumbus, GA and the first thing they ask is "can you hear me now". At first, I would say yes then they would talk about a cruise or sweepstake I won. That's when I would hang up because I don't believe them. Now the calls keep coming more frequently, they are either a Columbus number or an 800 number. I hang up immediately as soon, as they say, "Can you hear me now." How do I stop the calls?
