- Colwich, KS, USA

Phone call on land line(we don't have caller ID) at 3:25 on June 6, 2018. Caller was recorded saying they are issuing a warrant for non payment of income tax and we need to call immediately #657 218 0639.

We also get calls on a cell phone about once a week and my husband hangs up without getting phone # to call back.

- Bangor, WI, USA

Automated call. Recording indicated it was a call from the IRS calling to notify me that there was an arrest warrant out for me and I needed to call back with my ID information, birth date, and SSN to get additional information

- Torrington, CT, USA

Received voicemail stating that I needed to take action because "there are four serious allegations against me" and that I would be arrested "by local authorities in 24 business hours". Part of the message was cut off and in attempt to call back, the is busy.

I keep getting calls twice a day. One call at 8am, and the next at 4pm. There is an automated message saying that this is a debt collector, and I owe money to IRS. I figured this must be a scam, since the IRS would show up at my house. The number has been calling me for the past week. I blocked the number, but I can still see if they called in my 'recent calls'

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I've gotten six messages from someone pretending to be the IRS. He said he was filing a lawsuit against me.

- Fort Mill, SC, USA

A female voice caller said the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me for tax (message was garbled here)fraud. Ignoring this would be an intentional second attempt to avoid (garbled here again) federal law for further information call the call back number is 843-401-5028 repeats number

- Ocala, FL, USA

6/6/18 Woman called twice today. "IRS final notice....issued warrant for arrest.Call back for details 9292869419."

Scammer called about nonpayment. On return call, scammer gave fake IRS identification. Scammer hung when notified of calling the news media.

Said they were the IRS and the consumer needed to call them back. Consumer didn't return the call.

we receive a Call at the business . The call said that the IRS had been trying to reach us and now was filing a lawsuit/ lean. To get more information on the case to call 210-209-8807.

They called from 806-352-4103 and they wanted me to call 1-844-247-5426 because I need to make a deposit. They left that message for me and it was a computer voice on my landline answering machine..

They tried to tell me they were from IRS. That I owed from 2 years ago in 2016. I had a debt and needed to pay it. I told them I would need to move money and they told me I couldn't hang up or it would be incriminating evidence to use in the lawsuit against me. The gentleman Steve William decided to then tell me I would go to prison and that I should enjoy prison for 5 years since I am hanging up with him instead of paying. The name he gave was Steve William. His ID was 230370. The proposed case ID was CP791496.

I just received a recorded phone message saying they were from the IRS, and we are being charged with fraud. It said they had tried numerous times to contact us in the last six months. That since they haven't been able to reach up we were being brought up on fraud charges if we didn't call this number.

I received a call with a message that I had an issue with the IRS and to avoid an arrest warrant I should call this number. I called and the man said he was a detective for the IRS and if I did not cooperate he would issue a warrant for my arrest.

Then he asked my name and I said first I needed to know who he was.

I never gave him any info as I knew this was a scam. I just wanted more details to report. I refused to give him any info and kept asking how I could prove this was the IRS. Since I never gave him my name he never got to asking for anything other info..

I told hin I need proof you are the IRS. Send me a written statement concerning my case.

He said he could not send me an email. I said I did not want an email...

I want it sent to my physical address.

I asked how I was supposed to prove what he said. He suggested I go to the local IRS office where I would be arrrested for not cooperating with him.

I told him I'd do better than that and report this phone number to the IRS, police and whomever else had an interest in scammers. He said, "brilliant idea, then I will just send the local police the warrant info now. I said, thanks I'll be ready, laughed and hung up.

I was contacted by the number listed with an automated message that there would be urgent legal/criminal action taken against me for back taxes owed and to call back the number immediately. When I called back the individuals I spoke with (whom had Indian accents) confirmed they were from the IRS and were looking for additional information. When I asked a couple questions they should be able to answer they became irritated and hung up the phone. After I called back a couple times requesting information from them they became hostile.

My concern is the aggressiveness displayed with their message and that they repeatedly confirmed they were calling from the IRS. If they were to target a more vulnerable person with such a message there could be some real harm done

- Honolulu, HI, USA

Consumer recieved a call from a pre recording stating that I haven't paid my taxes and I would be arrested if I didn't pay.

Beware of IRS calls, they say that you have to pay a certain amount of money for back taxes or you will be arrested. This is our second phone call, the first one was on the home phone and the second one was on our cell phone. Both wanted money or we would be arrested within the hour at our home and they also said that our home was under investigation. So Please Beware of These Calls and if you do get a call from them report it to the B.B.B. and don't be a victim by sending them the money!
