IRS Reports & Reviews (5101)

These people called my husband twice in one afternoon to tell him he was being investigated for tax fraud. They did not ask for a specific amount of money. As far as i understand, they did not ask for personal information. Later, he had an automated message, call saying their was a warrent out for his arrest related to this "tax fraud".

- Hubertus, WI, USA

The voice sounds the same as the one I received Aug 23, with a different number to call back on. "The IRS is filing a lawsuit due to unpaid taxes." We do not have unpaid taxes.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

Received a recording saying we were being sued. I called back and they answered as an internet research service. Next time I called back it said "know we are a branch of the IRS".

- Salt Lake City, UT, USA

I have received multiple messages on my phone from "Officer Heather Gray" with the IRS. It is not a real person but a voice recording. She says that if I don't call back "the very second I receive this message" then they "will take action" against me. The number she leaves is 714 705-0709. Can't you or the police call that number or trace it or something and get her off my back!! I've received that same message over a dozen times in the past few weeks (different numbers to call back associated with it though).

I have received several calls the last 2 were from the first number. They say they are the IRS and I owe money. I never talk to them. They have left a couple messages. Hope they are caught before they find some one that believes them.

Said he was from IRS and was putting a lien on my property if I did t contact immediately

Received call stating they were the IRS. They wanted me to meet them at the local Stop and Shop. They said there was a arrest warrant against me. They wanted me to pay them 6800.00.

This person called on my personal phone. Once I confronted the individual (he gave me last name of "Wilson"), he disconnected the call. The phone number from the caller was 206-259-5825.

Called to say a law suit was filed by the IRS for unpaid taxes in the amount of $4,788.35. Instructed me to go to a WalMart or Walgreens or a store that sell tax pay vouchers. I was instructed to stay on the phone while I purchased the voucher or this one time opportunity to pay my past taxes would be rejected. Once I had the pre-paid card I was to give them the number and then they would give me a number to put on the IRS website showing that payment had been received. Called sounded like he was calling from India and told me that the IRS had issued case #CF8511 and would file a law suit against me unless I paid the amount within the next hour.

I received a phone call from a 7012640450 at 9:00 am asking to call back about a Final Noticed before being sued by IRS....,

I call the number back and to my surprise the phone was answer on the first ring, and no automated assistance just someone with Indian accent asking me for my phone number to access my account, I told them that other times IRS would know automatically when I'm using my number, he replied that this was a different department the Collection one I asked him where were they located, he wouldn't say it, I asked him if perhaps they were calling from India or Pakistan, He got really Upset, told me I'm right behind your house A-0. And hunged up the phone.

I received about 4 - 5 calls to my cell phone on Saturday, August 27, 2016, I think 4 were received around 11 am and one around 3 pm. I didn't answer any of the calls and each call left the same recorded message on my voicemail. Each was a recording just saying that the IRS was suing me and that I should contact that phone number. It did not mention any name or other information. Just quick and general - scare tactic.

We received a phone call that left voice mail "this is the IRS and you must call us soon, we are filing a lawsuit against you for unpaid taxes".They left a number to call 310-283-9487. We have no unpaid taxes. This call came 8/23/16.

Caller stated I owed 6982.00 for tax fraud. Said IRS had filled a lawsuit against me and were going to issue and arrest warrant for me. Repeatedly asked if I wanted to go jail. She gave me her full name and a badge number. Said she was calling from the department of investigation for the IRS.

- Akron, OH, USA

I received an IRS call from Kevin Mason saying I owed money on my taxes. He threatened me with a civil suit. It's interesting, because I also receive calls from a Kevin, saying my computer has a virus. Obviously Kevin is a popular name choice for scammers right now.

- Slidell, LA, USA

The caller said he represented the IRS and before he even had my full name stated that the IRS was starting a lawsuit against me. I laughed and told him to mail me the information and hung up

IRS called and left message had a problem w/taxes and call. 12:59PM today told to ask for Gal Hardee

Threatening call stating I must call the legal dept. and my criminal attorney to avoid arrest by paying overdue taxes asap.

A female voice recording stating that the were from the Tax Legal Department of the IRS and they advised me that this is a attempts to collect a debt that I was delinquent in. they suggested that I call the phone number above and settle this claim.

i have been receiving similar phone calls and have filed a complaint with the local ScamPulse.com and your website.

Typical IRS Scam. Calling to say she is being sued by the IRS and to call back at these numbers. 360-787-9617,206-228-0190

Impersonator spoke w/ a broken East Indian accent claiming I owed $900. When I tried to narrow the authenticity of the caller he became irate stating that if we didn't resolve this issue over the phone I better hire a lawyer as this will go to court. I stated that I never received any formal/certified letter from the IRS and required this prior to going forward with his request. He stated that two certified letters were sent and it's my problem.
