Website joyshepherddogs.com looks legitimate and is up to date as of April 2026. Email exchange also appears legitimate with many questions asked about home environment, nearby vets, experience with dogs, etc. Etransfer of funds no issue. Funds were auto deposited to an account with the name “Kwame Owusu”. First red flag. Following day, email from the shipping company requests an additional payment of $1000 for “mandatory” pet insurance. Pet insurance is NOT mandatory in Canada, second red flag. Contacted joyshepherddogs and requested refund but received no further contact from them. From other reports on BBB, those who’ve paid the $1000.00 pet insurance are then asked for an additional amount for a dog crate, etc.

German shepherd puppies for sale from joyshepherddogs.com. They said it would be shipped to us and originally asked for $650. They later had the shipping company take $1,000 for “insurance”. I lost a total of $1600. They later stated we need to send an additional $950 for a rental crate for shipping. All of that was stated after they had told us shipping was free. The contact email is [email protected] and they are based in Montreal, ON, CAN.
