I received a 2-part phone call from two guys claiming to be the fraud detection department at Wells Fargo. The initial call was alerting me of fraudulent activity on my account. The second phone call I received was from a different phone number, 818-318-3029. I did not provide any personal information to the scammer, but they were able to provide me with personal information to include bank account number, last 4 SSN, DOB, and even had my most recent bank transactions which they used to substantiate activity on my account. I am not one to fall for these schemes, but the fact that they could provide me so much personal information that was correct and that I assumed to only be known by my banking institution, I took the bait thinking this could only be Wells Fargo. They ultimately hacked my account (by changing my password) and transferred the money out. Of course, I was their puppet, and it absolutely infuriates me.
