Sent in an address change to USPS, and selected to opt in to spectrum deals. Three minutes after confirming the address change a person claiming to be spectrum called me and said that someone had already set up Internet in the apartment I was planning to move into. He said that to sort everything out I needed to send in a change of address, a picture of my new lease, and a picture of my drivers license. He gave me an email to contact and set up a time to call me tomorrow. He knew my name and email through the change of address form I had just filled out, making him seem legit. Spectrum does not call people like that, and they don’t ask you to email/set up future call times as well.

Received voicemail message 12/23/2025

"Hello, this voicemail is from Spectrum. We are informing you that your 50% discount on monthly bill is being removed today due to no response. This change will be permanent. Please call back on the number showing on your caller ID immediately to retain this discount. Thank you."

Ive gotten several calls from "spectrum" saying i see you received your new xumo box let's set it up. I have my xumo box and it is in perfect working order. I chatted with spectrum and they have not called me about this. I blocked the number so they can only messages and i delete them.

I google spectrum support and the first number that came up was (888) 929-4123. They knew my address and phone number and told me that I would need to provide them with my credit card number in order to process a cancellation fee. I did not provide them with that information and they became increasingly pushy and upset.

I was trying to pay the remaining portion of my internet and phone bill since i canceled them and was rerouted to this phone number where i received a email to verify me then a text with a link to dropbox sign where i paid an invoice for a cancelation fee for my spectrum phone service. It just didnt feel right to me so i contacted my bank and canceled both my cards.

I called spectrum customer service for a spectrum box torn off the side of house. He proceded to tell me spectrum didn't offer cable lines anymore i would have to go fiber optic with AT&T. They connected me to fraudulent AT&T as well. When they were so called finishing up their spill he said he was sending a link. The link wanted my ss#AND birthdate. I told this person i dont give that out. Repeatedly. I told them to forget it, im done. So the next day my bank account was blocked. Someone Repeatedly tried to get in. The text said it was from spectrum. THIS SCAM LEAD TO TRYING TO STEAL MY BANK ACCOUNT.

I searched for Internet providers in my area. The first sponsored response was for spectrum. I clicked the link which took me to spectrumonlineoffers.com. Using the number provided on the site, I contacted the company to get more information about Internet service at my house. They offered to provide a service and requested my full name, date of birth, and last four of my social. When they asked for a credit card to “Have on file”, I refused and asked for more information about their company. It became obvious they did not want to provide any more information, and email, another way of confirming their authenticity, etc. I then ended the phone call.

Left a voicemail from Spectrum saying "Dear Customer, this voicemail is to infrom you that spectrum is removing the 40% discount offer on you monthly bill to reactivate this offer right now. Please call back on the number you see on your caller ID thank you

He told me my amount on my bill. I was eligible for a 50% discount if I paid $400.00 up front and I would not get a bill for those for 4 months. then I would start getting a $100.00 bill for 2 years. He was getting me a promotion code so I could use when I called a number he was going to give me. I

hung up before he gave me the code and phone number.

Called for new spectrum service and discussed plans and pricing. Sounded legit til they asked for date of birth then social security number. Those are red flags that made me realize i need to hang up. Googled the number and history of scams prior.. beware all and be careful.
