Attempting to scam business for their domain registry. But sending fake invoice.

This group, contacted me today by mail wanting a fee of $289.00 for an annual term for a website domain listing from Aug 27-2021 to Aug 27, 2021. the website is used by the ***** ***** ****** *** ***** ***** *********** and we have used the name and site for years now. I don't know who these individuals are or why we should suddenly send them this amount of money.

This company is asking for payment for our internet site domain. The remittance demanded is $289.00 for a one year listing.

This company sent a bill that states that the Performing Arts Academy must pay the "United States Domain Authority" $289 upon receipt or else their domain would not be listed on August 30, 2021.

I have attached the bill. To a layman not educated in domain registration, this appears to be an official document requiring payment or something bad would happen to the website. What they are actually offering is a listing on their directory at www.usdomainauthority.com. This domain name was selected to intentionally conflate their services with domain registration services, which is a service that is critical to web hosting.

The assistant director of the Performing Arts Academy contacted me because she was about to pay it. We have no business with this company and therefore I believe it is fraudulent to mail this document requesting payment.

As a representative of a company who has been offering professional web services for over 20 years, and it is my firm belief that the "service" they are trying to trick the Performing Arts Academy into paying for is worthless, the value of what they are offering is precisely $0.00.

I believe that this document is analogous to registering the domain http://ohiobureaumotorvehicles.com/ and mailing letters to people requesting for payment to make sure their "driver's listing" doesn't expire. While they could maintain a listing of drivers that have paid them on their website, as promised by the document, the "service" of being listed on their directory is essentially fraudulent and misleading.

I got a fraudulent bill

- Ada, OK, USA

Around the time our website domain was actually set to renew, we received a "website services" notice in the mail telling us we had to go online to renew our domain name for $289. They got our registrar and everything else correct so it almost looked legit. The bill told us to go to their website and enter a validation code before submitting an online payment. It also included a credit card authorization form that you could send back and pay by mail.

This was a request for payment for website services. The letter had our correct domain name, and correct reference to our service provider listed. They clarify that the offer is to enhance your website exposure through their directory but it could easily be misconstrued as a request for payment of domain registration.

Our business just renewed our domain site - for three years - with Go Daddy June 2021.

Then this Website Services company - US Domain Authority sent us by mail to renew our ANNUAL WEBSITE DOMAIN LISTING for $289.00

We called Go Daddy to ask if this is legit since their name GoDaddy.com, LLC is listed as Registrar on this mailing.

They confirmed this company is NOT LEGIT. So I am reporting this to you so others will be alerted to this scam.

Thank you for your prompt help.

As the treasurer of my organization, I received a notice that looks like a bill from US Domain Authority. It says that it was the annual fee for our website listing.

I made the mistake of paying it before checking with others.

I tried calling their phone number, repeatedly. I left messages on their website. Never heard a word from them.

But they did cash my check.

This company offers a worthless service of listing of business on a domain registration. It looks like a bill but it is nothing more than a solicitation for a worthless service.

Just got this as well, tries to act like some govt. agency for domain names, but the small text shows that it's to buy a listing on their worthless directory. Beware of this one.

It may be to your benefit to understand who actually manages your domain name. I originally registered it under Network Solutions. When I received this invoice in the mail I already knew this was bogus. If you do not know who manages your domain name, or if you have someone who you hired to manage it, ask them and make sure you know everything about it. Who is it registered under, what the payments are, and when they are due.

This company has sent several invoices although no one in this company has authorized US Domain Authority to conduct any business. Furthermore our company already owns it's domain and has for quite some time.

United States Domain Authority sent us a solicitation appearing to be an invoice or bill. We received an annual statement number SEA24405 from United States Domain Authority for $289.00 making it appear that we needed to pay this company in order to renew our domain listing. The language and appearance of this solicitation is clearly made to appear as a bill or invoice and take advantage of organizations and businesses. We paid the United States Domain Authority invoice by CARD online in the amount of $399.00 for the two year option. We called the number on the bill but no one answers the phone.

This scammer sent an invoice claiming remittance needed to ensure company domain name is valid for next 12 months.

I just read the letter and threw it away. Not sure what the big deal is. It doesn’t say it’s an invoice. I searched online wanting to learn more, I would fire my accountant if they didn’t read a letter. I’ve gotten these letters for years from a litany of “companies”.

This is not a Domain renewal as suggested. It is a worthless service trying to imitate your domain's service fee by citing information publicly available at your registrar.

not only does this look like renewal invoice for a domain we already own, but they use emblems that make it appear as though it is a goverment entity

they are scaming for a payment making it look like a domain annual fee.
