Submitting an application to an apartment complex in Spokane, Washington. I was given a link to a website to check my income and verify that I am in fact making money. I was then told to link my bank account to this website. And now there is fraudulent activity on my bank account. My money has been stolen.

I applied for a rental offered by Excalibur Homes. When I applied, I had to pay over $220 for each of my family members application. They held the application for over a week despite frequent emails to their company asking for updates or if our applications were approved. We recently received an email stating that we would need to have our income verified by going through a company called The Closing Doors. It was also stated that we would need to provide this company our bank account and password. This means that the company would have complete undetected access to our bank accounts. We’ve been renting for years and have no problem providing bank statements, but this absolutely seems like a scam.
