I'm 85 years old. Social Security left a message saying my social security number had been compromised. I called. This guy said my social security number had been compromised, and my social security number was being forfeited because a guy was using my name to buy two cars. He gave me another number to call. I called and a woman, Eliza Smith, a US Marshall with Social Security, in Maryland, TX. She gave me a badge number SSA264562. She asked for my bank account number, whether it was checking or savings. I gave her the last 4 digits of my social security number. She said my bank account would be closed for 180 days, and I wouldn't be able to get any money. She said this was because my checking account had been compromised. She called back.

I received a voicemail from Social Security number saying my social security number is on hold. There was a number to call back. I didn't call. Just before that call, I had gotten a call from my "pharmacy" and he had my prescription, he had my address and needed the last four of my social, which I gave him. Then I called my prescription company who said they had not made any calls.

I just got a call from "Social Security" saying my social security number has been compromised. I said OK I'll go to Social Security and take care of this. He said not to go to Social Security. He said somebody has been renting apartments in my name in Texas, activity just found in the last 2 weeks so it wouldn't appear in the credit report. He said they will cancel my social security number and give me a new one. I told him I would call the BBB. He said "Ma'am do what you gotta do". The caller had my name and address. He asked if I was at (my address). That's when I asked if he was a scam. He had an accent.

THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS, THERE EVEN CALLING MY 13 YEAR OLD SON'S PHONE. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.

Then I got a call from a foreign man he said he was IRS, and he asked why I hadn't filed my taxes yet. I told him I was busy. He said have you filed your taxes.
