Caller ID shows a phone call from Hinton, WV....I do not answer. Call waits 5 minutes and then rapid fires two more calls to me. I begin to think this may be an emergency, so I answered it. Caller begins speaking very quickly about recording this call and wants to discuss what I owe on Social Security?? Caller then wants to clear things up and begins to tell me he needs information and I shout "NO" and hang up.

We received a call at 7:15 am from the social security administration wanting to verify information on my husband. The caller ID said: Unavailable. I told my husband not to answer it, but he did. When I checked on the number, I found it to be not a valid number. I tried to call them back and it said not a valid number. The web research revealed its a scam. Please inform senior citizens to not talk to these people! We haven't lost money or our ID yet, but who knows what's in store since my husband talked to them!!

My husband had recently signed up for social security and a day or 2 after we were getting calls like oh so you signed for social security, or are you the one applying for social security benefits, then the last call was when we answered the phone it said you may be recorded and then said can you hear me now and that was it. I can't remember what I responded at the time but when I seen that this was a scam on tv I remembered the call.

They want me to call them back at 509-383-4534. I tried to call the phone number back but it was busy. I just want to report the call.
