Started to get these text impersonating Harris & Harris a legitimate debt collector agency based out of Chicago. It said I owed an original debt to Charter (Spectrum) for unreturned equipment for the amount of $205.96. I called Charter (Spectrum) and they have no knowledge that I owe them any money or been sent to collections by them. These impersonators/scammer got my phone number from somewhere and are phising thru text trying to instill fear on innocent people and stealing money and probably data too.

I received a text message from the number 69534, stating that I would be receiving texts from Harris & Harris, a debt collector on behalf of Charter Comms (Spectrum). I haven’t been contracted for any services with Spectrum, so I would not owe them any money. After looking up Harris & Harris (a legitimate company), I noticed that the business phone number is not the same as the one that was in the text message.

I do not have any business relationship or outstanding debts to T-Mobile (not my cell or internet provider), so this message is obviously a scam. I did not reply and immediately blocked the sender.

Received a text message about an upcoming text message that I would receive. The first message was received around 11:30 AM CST and the message was:

The second message I received was around 11:40 AM CST and the message was:

I monitor my credit report at MINIMUM weekly, I have no outstanding debts that have been sent to collections with anyone. If this were from the state of Oklahoma or the Turnpike Authority, I should have received an official letter in the mail, not a random text message from shortcode text message number 69534.
