The scammer used a Sherrif’s name and badge number. They said there was a warrant for the individuals arrest. They wanted to know the individuals social security number or the last four digits of it. They had false information regarding the individuals whereabouts and information regarding a fake claim about a crime that had been committed.

This number kept calling. I answer it. it is an auto message that says i am in trouble with social security. Left a number to call-different then the number that called me...? hmm, so i call the number and demand to talk to a supervisor. where the lady that answered- tells me she is. then hangs up. i call again- man says no super on site. hangs up. i call back and tell him i am reporting them. he gets nasty and tells me not to call his number "no more". Sad they don't speak english & then when you demand proof of business they hang up or get nasty with you? - and i swear this is the same hacker guy (by voice-they call here a lot-just different causes & companies) that called and got me locked out of my computer last year. Soooo pissed. Criminal charges needs to happen to these people or their never gonna stop!!!!

Every so often I receive a call from a "800" number. Today the number was 1-877-016-1213. It is a computerized voice stating they are going to have to cancel my social security number and I need to talk to the social security office and to press 1 to be connected (for my convenience) in case I have trouble getting in touch with the social security office. I know this is a scam but I'm sure others have lost a lot of money by pressing 1 and talking to those people. The reason for reporting this is so the ScamPulse.com is aware of this (which I know they are) so maybe they can do something about stopping them.

The person on the phone says warning someone has obtained your social security number illegally and we want to help you to correct this problem. Please send us $680 and we will obtain the individuals name and contact information for you to report them to the police. I have received over 20+ calls stating the same thing all with different numbers. The most phone number calls came from 1-844-820-4849 and I have asked them to remove my number from there calling list and after I did that I was receiving harassing phone calls from one man calling me awful names and using profanity. As of today the number is now stating it is not set up to receive phone calls. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I'm 85 years old. Social Security left a message saying my social security number had been compromised. I called. This guy said my social security number had been compromised, and my social security number was being forfeited because a guy was using my name to buy two cars. He gave me another number to call. I called and a woman, Eliza Smith, a US Marshall with Social Security, in Maryland, TX. She gave me a badge number SSA264562. She asked for my bank account number, whether it was checking or savings. I gave her the last 4 digits of my social security number. She said my bank account would be closed for 180 days, and I wouldn't be able to get any money. She said this was because my checking account had been compromised. She called back.
