An email that said a product purchased from Amazon is on its way. The email gave me a tracking number. I checked the order because I did make an order from Amazon. It gives me a number to check my order. He kept asking me the last four of my Social and attempted to get my bank account information and preceded to ask for more information. I would not give any information that he should already have. So he hung up.

The scammer posted a free kayak in the craigslist free items section. They ask you to respond to the ad with your phone number. Then they say they are sending you a verification code to you and they need you to send it back. This means they are trying to get into some account of yours that had your phone number set up as an alternate way to get in when you have forgotten a password. The scammer posts a new ad with a new number from a different United States area code constantly.
