I searched for GE refrigerator water filters and this company was selling them for cheaper but advertising as the same product.

After receiving the filter, I installed it and now my fridge won't reset and water won't dispense. I tried troubleshooting every possible way. After reading the packaging again (which looks identical), I noticed it says "made in China" in the very bottom corner. My old filter says "made in Taiwan". There's slight physical differences in the actual filter too, but all other writing is the same. However, it's obvious that this is a knockoff and doesn't have the RFID sensors like the original ones do to allow my fridge to reset.

Much like the guy who reported on Aug 17, 2026, I also received counterfeit GE XWFE water filters. They don't have the RFID chip in the label. Stay away from these scammers.
