I saw an add for Labrador puppies for sale on Craigslist so I contacted them and the wrote back later that day. When they told me what dogs were available I realized that is not what the add said so I questioned it. Then he told me that his brother had the ones I was looking for so I said ok. He send me pictures that looked like he found them online and also did not seem to know anything about what I add said. He was also very pushy and wanted everything to be done quick. He wanted to use cashapp so I gave him a 100 dollar deposit and when I did he then asked for more to hold the dog and I said no and he tried to convince me to pay more and I reported it to the the cash app as fraud as well as reported it on Craigslist.

On August 21, 2023, infinity_doberman_puppies posted a picture of a doberman puppy statingthat the puppy was in need of a home and still available. Infinity_Doberman_Puppies is aninstagram page posturing as a business breeding and selling dobermans. After a few exchangeson Instagram chat and after receiving an application, which I filled out and sent back to the [email protected], the email account which sent me the original application. I was then"approved" and asked to make a small refundable deposit of $250 and an additional $250 fee forher last vet visit prior to me receiving her. She informed me that they were basically giving thepuppy away for free and that she told her husband I was one of her friends. They also asked mewhen I would be able to pick up the puppy, to which I responded, Labor Day Weekend. We alsoexchanged phone numbers, from which we would continue our conversations. That number is+1(858)876-2181.Between that initial exchange and Labor Day weekend, the perpetrator would texts wherein I wasbeing updated about the dog and requested to pay approximately $200 a day for food for thepuppy because she only ate premium food. I continued to send these payments either via Zelle([email protected] (Demonte Griffin) and [email protected] (Manuel Jr Crespo) orApplePay. The ApplePay payments were sent to the following phone number: +1 (985)226-6227& +1(706) 305-5790.On September 3, I was messaged that the woman's son was in the hospital, from what I recall,getting hit with a car while he was riding a bike. I sent her only half and informed her I would giveher the rest when I had a copy of her I.D., which I never received. On September 7, 2023, the perpetrator messaged me asking, "Don't you want this puppyanymore" that his wife had been trying to get into contact with me and that the puppy had noteaten and that her son was transferred to another hospital. I also stated that I've been waiting forthem to let me know when I could drive down to San Diego to pick up the dog myself. She requested that I send her $500 to aid in her expenses/bills, in addition to the food the puppyrequired. The perpetrator told me she was at San Jose at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Shewanted me to Zelle the following account: [email protected]. Instead, I drafted upa contract for her to sign and asked for a copy of her ID. She stated that her husband had taken the car with her wallet and ID and that she would send it to me in the morning but she did signthe contract as the following:

The account responded thatthat company was her sister, which the perpetrator with whom I've been communicating with the(858) confirmed later. To which I replied, that was an unfair statement sinceI had already transferred almost $2000, that I was meant to have the dog the weekend beforeand that if she felt I was not on board, she could refund me all the money and sell the dog tosomeone else. She stated I had it all wrong and eventually we agreed to meet at the address shepreviously sent me on Sunday 9/10 any time between 12 and 4pm.

She did a cursory check in on Saturday asking how I was doing and we exchanged pleasantries.On Sunday, 9/10, I messaged her and told her that I would be driving down and would arrivearound 2pm. She stated that she had not come back but that she had a solution since her puppywas with her sister. The perpetrator stated that her sister would leave the puppy at a deliveryagency which will bring the puppy to me. She said that I couldn't pick up the puppy from hersister's house because of her husband and that this method was the only way her sister woulddo the dropoff/delivery. She requested my name, email, phone number and house address for delivery, at which point Ibegan to receive emails from [email protected] - https://worldcourrierground.com/ with a tracking number andthat the puppy had been registered for delivery by a Ms. Shelby Rogan. This company thenbegan to request insurance fees, crate fees and stamp fees. I refused to pay the companybecause it seemed unprofessional and illegitimate, so I began to speak with "Jazzmine" againand told her I would not be sending the money to the company. I provided her additional funds todo so, as she promised she would refund all once the dog was delivered. This continued toMonday and they asked if we were going to get the dog or that they would leave it on the street.Eventually getting frustrated, I told her that I expected the dog by a certain time or that sherefund me now almost $3000 for the puppy's expenses. The next few days consisted of the same types of exchanges in which the puppy needed food,that the company was not going to refund but by Tuesday she stated she paid for the food andshe's working on getting the puppy to me. I then received another request from the courierservice requesting $400 to cover the food. I told the perpetrator my solution was to pick up thedog myself because I was not willing to transfer money anymore.

Wednesday, 9/14/23, the perpetrator informs me that she has the puppy now and asked if Iwould pick her up. I stated yes and she replied that we'll discuss details in the morning. On Thursday, 9/15/23, she stated that she would bring the puppy and that she needed money forthe puppy's food, gas and money she owed her sister for watching the dog. Since she wouldhave made it before I would to San Diego, I conceded and sent her money for both and alsoasked for a clear description of where she'll be bringing the puppy, to which I obliged. Then inthree hours she stated her car had broken down and she will keep me posted and that she wasable to keep the dog with a friend so she could get her car fixed. I stated that I would get the dogmyself and I received no response thereafter.

The scammer continued to attempt to have me send money for the dog using tactics of guilt/empathy, saying the dog is starving, etc. They continued to message me daily until 9/22/23 as I refused once more to send money and called them scammers.

Scam breeder. Contacted via their website. Sent $600 via Zelle as down payment for 2 puppies. Discovered this was a scam via Facebook group. The photos the fake breeder provided were copied from a Min Pin Facebook group. They stopped responding to our texts.

I bought a puppy from this seller online at Facebook. He asked me to pay $300 and I told him that I can only pay it on ny paycheck since I dont have money he told me that just deposit $100 and they will do the change of ownership of the puppy under my name. After doing it, they sent it to me on my email. He told me that I need to pay $100 for the delivery so I sent it to him after that the delivery agency texted me and told me that I have to pay $470 for crate rental but its refundable once the puppy arrive at my place I told them that I dont have money but they said its for the puppy's safety. I sent it to them, after that they asked me again to send $530 which is refundable too for travel insurance I told them that I dont have money anymore that I want to cancel it since its not discussed on me and they didnt tell me those stuff in the first place. They said that I can't cancel it anymore because if I do that they will abandoned that puppy and I will go to the court and face the law, I got scared. For me and for the puppy so I send them the money. After that they said that they are out of delivery now. Around 4am earlier, they asked me again to send money $505 for city permit of the dog because they were hold by the authorities that If I didnt send the money they will leave the dog at the shelter and I'll be the one who's incharge since they said Im the rightful owner now. After that, I got mad, scared, I don't know but I called the LAPD and Animal Control regarding on theses because I'm really scared and they told me that I don't need to be scared since it was a scam.

We contacted this person regarding a pet that was online. It was a labrador retriever puppy. The price was $550, which was made in two installments. They then were going to supposedly book a flight for the puppy to be shipped to us. They requested an additional $970 of a "refundable pet insurance fee." The situation was messy the whole time, with them telling us that we could not have the puppy until we paid the final $970. I did not give that to them, but they did get the $550. They then started to send emails and finally, I had to block them, because they threatened to say that I abandoned the puppy, when in reality, I abandoned the scam.

The person whos identity is unkown registered a website on 8/3, and reports to sell puppies with dozens of fake reviews which was the giveaway. They then respond back with an email asking for payment type immidately before any paperwork on the puppy and says they will deliver a puppy to your doorstep many states away. The market value for these puppies are much higher which is another giveaway this is fraud.

I inquired via phone from the website Bethany Bullies- English Bulldogs about availability on a puppy bulldog. The phone rang and then hung up, which an Indian man called back within a few seconds. He said he had the dog I was interested in and his wife "Bethany" was giving her a bath and told her to get a video. I asked him to send more photos and videos. I could even hear dogs barking in the background. After we hung up he emailed the video of the dog in the bath and multiple text messages of other photos of the dog playing, right away (looked like a nice house too) so I trusted him. Upon showing my family we decided to get one of his other dogs and put down a deposit because he said someone else was interested and it was first come, first serve. So I Zelled him $500 deposit. Then later that day he said he could have the dog ready to ship the next day and asked me to send the rest of the money. He gave me multiple names and numbers to send the balance to because I was at my limit through Zelle (but later realized the bank was blocking me from sending because it was suspicious). I started to question how unprofessional this was getting because transferring the money through Cashapp wasn't working either with the names he was giving. He also urgently wanted the money that night to ship in the am.. hello! Red flag!

But he insured me everything was good and he was a very smooth talker.. saying he was a Christian and this is his families business. He even quoted the bible throughout the process. My emotions and want to believe him, got in the way and I figured out how to give him the balance to purchase the dog for 1K (which was half off and very cheap for a bulldog pure bread, another red flag). So the next day rolls around and supposedly the dog is at a shipping facility and ready to go within a few hours but they call me and say I need to have PET INSURANCE for $1500!! No way I tell them. I'm not doing it and realize it's all a set up. He pleads with me and has some fake guys call posing to be from the shipper. Saying they need to deposit in order to put the dog on the flight to my state. They would then refund the deposit upon arrival. We go back and forth and he spends a ton of time texting me and calling me to try and keep talking me into it, saying do it for "Kubali" (dogs name). This person is extremely sneaky and convincing. He swore on his family and generational name that he was a good person and got offended when I called him a liar and a scammer. Always ask for live videos via facetime or google to know if they are real.

Posted and sent pictures of Available and Irish wolfhound puppies on Facebook and through Messenger to me personally. Had a conversation about the Irish Wolfhound adult parents of the puppies, the puppies, age, health, etc.. Also had a conversation about how the sale would proceed, which included a signed contract and deposit through PayPal. This was concluded, so the money was sent through PayPal to a Ather Malone, son he stated, the payment was $600. Arrangements were made with the address given, the contract which was sent through email I signed it. He had already filled out all the information the following day which would be today July 29 of 2023. He has removed most of his part of the conversation on messenger, his Facebook page is now disappeared, the number on the contract is bogus (someone on in Tennessee)

It was to purchase two puppies. The person wanted us to send him 200 dollars at first then he increased it yo 300 we said we would only send 200. He said it was a deposit and the money was fully refundable. The day we were going to look at the puppies they sent us a large Vet bill. The puppies were supposed to be fully ready to go and shots were included. We questioned them and the bill just kept getting higher. I told the seller we wanted our deposit back. Things just didn't feel right. We were afraid to go to their home. The pictures they sent us of the puppies were different dogs. We specifically wanted a smooth red female and a smooth black and tan dachshund. We told them we did not want to do the transaction because to many things kept changing. They said ok. I asked if we could please have our money refunded. Several times she said yes. I gave her my address. She said she could not send it on-line because she could not find us. She has blocked me on Facebook now. Also before agreeing to send the 200 on line, her husband asked us to send a picture of our debt card fromt and back. We quickly canceled that card as soon as we realized what was happening

The company tried to say my puppy was shipped to Florida from Hickory NC in a day. The shipper wasn’t even in the same state. Then they sent pictures of two different dogs. I purchased a puppy from a breeder in Maryland. This breeder used Multi-International Transport Association to ship the puppy. She said she used this company all the time. The puppy's itinenary was emailed to me from the shipping company. She was to go from Maryland to New Mexico for a change of plane. The shipping company then started additional fees every day for 4 days. The puppy was to first be shipped on 7/2/2023. After I received the itinerary, the shipping company requested a bigger crate with more ventilation as the weather was hot. I paid $1100 in gift cards for a crate and vaccine. I was assured it was all refundable. I questioned the gift cards and they said their other method of accepting payment was under maintenance. Another delivery appointment was made and I was assured no more fees. The next day I received another email asking for Pet Insurance of $2000 (in gift cards) and I was assured again refundable. Another delivery appointment was made and I was assured no more fees. The next day we were expecting puppy at 9am 7/4/2023. At 7am I received another email demanding $4500 in gift cards for an anti-quarantine vaccine. . I refused. I was threatened with the puppy being put in quarantine for 40 days and charged with animal abandonment. I was always told the puppy was vet checked and in good health to travel. They continue to demand payment and threaten me and the puppy. Possible animal abuse as well.

I found this breeder from a Facebook group page. I decided on a puppy for $400, includes delivery from Siskiyou County, California. He email me the Bill of Sale, i signed it and sent him $200 via Zelle deposit and the rest $200 when the puppy is delivery to my home. He said he has set up the delivery arrangements and you will get a confirmation email and call from the pet delivery with tracking number and delivery schedule. The website of Dachshund puppies for rehoming site owner who goes by the name Rita LD Powels on Facebook states she will find reputable breeders for people so they don’t get scammed and to message her directly when I messaged her directly she gave me the site on Facebook named Lovely Dachshund Furbababies for adoption she said she is friends with the site owner and they would provide me a legitimate puppy they then sent photos of the puppy one selected they said they needed a 200.00 deposit to hold the puppy so no one else buys it at that would be included in the 500.00 cost of the dog they also asked for my full name address and email as well as phone number to register the dog under my name . They they stated since the live in holbrook Arizona they would meet me at the payson police station to deliver the dog. They then said something came up and could not, when I called them it was a google voicemail the site owner claimed he was a elderly old man after calling several time a young man with a Nigerian accent answer the phone said he was on the way to get the dog registered and hung up I called back and explained that he had lied he was not a old man he tried to change his voice and at that point hung up and never gave me the dog.

The scammer has a website Little Paws Doxie Dachshounds and Instagram Little_Paws_Doxie_Dachshounds advertising the sale of puppies. However once they get the deposit, they keep trying to get you to send more money that is supposed to be covered by the deposit. They said the deposit was refundable but I have spend 3 days telling them to refund me the money and all they do is keep trying to get me to send more money. Now they keep texting me trying to get me to send more money and refuse to send me my deposit back. I looked at their Google reviews and there are a lot of people posting that they are a scam and stole money from them too. I am now in dispute with Venmo to try and get my money back and have also reported them to Google.

I completed a form for requesting more information on a dog I was interested in. I was contacted by email and was asked to answer questions about my experience with dogs, among other things. A supposed bill of sale was made. I was provided with payment instructions and tried to pay the full $900, but thankfully my bank places a $500 cap on new recipients. I tried to send the rest today, but my bank canceled the payment because the Zelle email address had been tagged as fraudulent (although I’m not sure why that wasn’t the case either the first $500). I contacted the supposed breeder to let them know that my bank wasn’t letting me send the payment and they got more pushy with me. Then I for sure knew it was a scam. I tried to play dumb to get my money back, but the supposed kamisha got really pushy and was trying to get me to send money to her fiancé’s Zelle. I then said that she was being rude and asked to have my money returned and of course, she went radio silent.

I’m searching for Golden Retriever puppies, went into this website, they have pics of puppies who are currently available. Prices are only $600 (too cheap-red flag!) Contacted them for more info, emailed me next day with more info (requested info from me but no personal info). Bottom of email had pics of puppy I was interested in. Searched pics online and found same pictures on 14 different websites dating back from at least 2017 and some as current as 3 years ago. Posting pics they posted VS internet findings

I purchased a corgi puppy from https://royalpembrokecorgis.com/ where I signed a contract to purchase a dog named Loki from the "seller." I communicated with the person through email ([email protected]) and text (615 988 5152). Thought I had my skepticism about going forward with the sale I went through with it. I paid the user $850 through Zelle on the Bank of America app. It was then when the seller became very uncommunicative and I noticed their communication through text message to be very unclear and unhelpful. I was told I'd receive more information regarding the flying and the pick up of the dog the next day. They refused to answer questions about how and where and how I would pick up the puppy.

The following day I received an email from fake delivery service [email protected] pretending to transport the dog. After I responded to the email they proceeded to ask me for more money. I copy and pasted part of the email below. It wasn't until seeing this that I realized that I am a victim of a fraud attempting to take more money from me.

"This is in accordance with our rules and regulation of pet importation and exportation, { Adopted by the US congress on: 18 Dec 1990 } which states that we can not take the risk to deliver a live animal without the insurance policy covered. Therefore you have to pay for the insurance charges of your baby before we can proceed with the shipping & delivery process.

Payment Options. We have two payment options for the insurance policy, below are the different options which you have to choose from to pay for the insurance of your baby , so it’s either you pay for A or B; A) You pay a sum of $1000 which is 98% refundable to you in cash at your Door step at the point of delivery of your Puppies OR ?? You pay a sum of $500 which is non refundable. We want to assure you the safety of your baby is our greatest concern, and also that once we deliver your baby to you at your Home, the money you are going to pay for the insurance will be fully rhefundable to you if you choose to pay for either option (A). But if you choose option (B) the money you are going to pay will be non refundable.
