I received a robo-call today. Caller was identified as Microsoft and told me that they detected a "serious problem coming out of my computer." Their words exactly.

I received a message on my home phone a couple of days ago. Recording said they were calling from Microsoft. My free version was about to expire. They left phone number 800-716-5818. Callers name was Edward. Instructed for me to call back. I called the number. A man with an accent answered Microsoft Corporation. He needed to take control of my computer because windows had stopped working. I said I appreciate your call. I said I could get a copy of Microsoft at work. He said I had insulted him. I asked for a Supervisor. He said absolutely not. You insulted me. He was going to lock my computer unless I paid $100. Wanted me to go to Target or Walgreens. Anywhere I could purchase a $100 iTunes Gift Card. Fee was to unlock my computer. This is when I realized it was a scam because they wanted payment by iTunes gift card. I also had pop ups on my screen. A Microsoft number appeared 412-504-7008. I called the phone number. A man answered Microsoft Corporation. John Williams wanted $100 by iTunes. I did not send any money. I did not send any money. I took my computer in for repairs. I was not aware of Tech Support Scams.

Get a call from college freshman daughter that she thinks her PC is at risk because she got a pop up and called the number to "Microsoft" . I immediately knew she was had. They apparently did not ask for personal info, but had her go into some command prompt stuff. Not sure what they had her due, but I believe they had access to her computer. They then wanted payment for software but she said she wouldn't be paying, her parents would. She then called me. I told her to shut off computer until I can look at and maybe reformat. I received a phone call today on my home phone. Caller stated they were with Microsoft. The phone number in my caller ID showed 888-406-6841. He said to call them back when I was near my computer. He wanted to process a refund. $299 refund from Microsoft. I did not call the number. I wanted to report the call.

Recieved a warning Alert on Laptop Computer stating Microsoft Warning Alert , Malicous Pornographic Spyware/Riskware Detected , Error # 0x80072ee7, Please call immediatly at: (877) 421-0890, goes on to state that if we close this page, your computer access will be disabled to prevent further damage to our network. ....We have reported this information to FCC and Federal Trade Commission and they have made a report and told us to contact ScamPulse.com Texas and then call Microsoft to fix the issue

About a year ago my computer froze and I got a message claiming to be Microsoft saying there was a problem and I should call their number to fix the problem. Not sure why but I freaked and did as they said. Should have known it was fishy (or phishy) when every person clearly had a foreign accent. I don't remember at what point I was told it would cost $150 for the fix, but I finally hung up and shut off the computer. And immediately called the bank to cancel my credit card and get a new one. My adult daughter found a program to run to clean their nonsense off my computer and it was back to normal. But they have called several times a week since then telling me I still owe them the money. They didn't actually do anything but waste my time and my daughter's time. I've told them they've been reported but they keep on calling. My phone doesn't have a block caller feature. Ugh.

computer came up with a Microsoft warning and said to call at once. They where aloud to access the computer and then asked for money. now the computer is locked up and will not turn on.

We went to a website- there was a pop-up and this microsoft message came up to call.

The calls started last week. They said "Microsoft is going out of business. You have a refund coming, please call us back." They left a final message, saying they weren't going to call again. The caller said "This is Microsoft". He said I had a refund coming of $256.40. He asked me to spell my name, and said someone would call me back in 60 minutes. He said my code was RTC7860. The callers are foreign. They guy that was beeping into the call came from 929-262-1893, it says cellular call at the top. He asked me to spell my first and last name. They were persistent for 2 weeks saying Microsoft was closing down and I had a refund coming.

I received three calls from Microsoft tech support claiming that there is a problems with my computer. On 9/21/17 they called at 10:42pm and on 9/22/17 they called at 10:47pm. Phone solicitors are not supposed to call past 9:00pm and both times I was asleep and was startled by the calls. They called again 3 days later from a different phone number. The caller ID said a man's name, then MD. I was expecting a call from a doctor's office and I answered the phone and then they said it was Microsoft calling about my computer. I said "take me off your calling list" and hung up.

While obtaining a cooking recipe online, a pop up message stated that I had visited a website that infected our computer. This popup locked our computer until we called the above 866 phone number. When I called a woman with a heavy accent from India identified herself as working for Microsoft and would help us with our problem. She took control of our screen and asked if we did online banking on the computer. Soon she said their technicians would handle it and I asked how much. She sent me a message which showed $499 for one occurrence and $1,999 for four or more occurrences, at which point we weren't convinced this was Microsoft to help us. I threatened to call the ScamPulse.com, and we hung up. We are concerned that she now may have stolen our identity/financial and personal information.

My daughter received a phone call from "Microsoft" regarding a credit to her account from a problem she had with her computer a few months ago. And her being a college student, she gave them her information and they transferred $1100.00 from her savings to her checking and then scammed it out of her.

I received a phone call on Friday, October 13, 2017, threatening that my computer would be disabled if I did not return the call. I immediately called the phone number 1-800-716-5818, and was told that in order to ensure that my computer would be protected, I needed to purchase a $100 I-tunes card. "He said, if they don't have a $100, you can get two $50 ones.' I did as he instructed and came back and gave him the information as he requested. He then stated that, "That card does not work on your computer. You will need to go back and pick up two $50 cards." It was then that I became aware that this was a scam. I disconnected the call and I have been harassed by the same number for nearly two days. I am working with my daughter to try and notify authorities that this is targeting senior citizens who may not be aware of computer technology or how the computer works.

My husband was streaming local news loud pop up alert came on computer screen saying it was urgent we call ASAP our computer had been compromised and our personal info would go into the hands of others. He had a thick Asian voice calling from California. The number on the computer screen showed 1-877-561-2129. He then got remote access by me agreeing to let him take control of my computer screen. He then told me it would be 149.99 for 1 year service. I told him I could not pay that my husband was sick. He said he could take a one time payment. He could take payments or I could make a one time payment. He said for you I could give you help for 49.99 that’s the best I can do. What gave this guy away is that he spoke with urgency. I told him I would call him back if I could borrow the money later. He said his name was Robert Cloud 1-844-208-2608 ext 504 8a-5p.

They claim there is a problem with my computer and ask to "cross reference" the CLSID with mine so I will tell them what mine is. Once they get that they can use it to get my windows license and likely sell it to someone else and lock me out of my own.

Was told my MS license key expired and this is an emergency and to immediately call their number.

When I answered the phone, a recorded message indicated that there was a user in my household using Microsoft 10 on a computer. It said that if I were that person I should press one for assistance from Microsoft. If said I could use all personal data and info on my computer including financial records if I did not speak with someone directly and immediately. The phone number that showed up on my phone was 607-289-3811. Both my home phone and cell phone were called from this number.
