been chosen to win a package but now a man name Brad now he say I have to pay for package that they say won

- Wynne, AR, USA

Received a text stating it was Mr. Manuel Franco, that I had been randomly selected to receive a portion of his winnings.

On 4/12/21 I received a random text stating the person as Manuel franco the powerball winner attached had a YouTube video of the actual person who did win to make it legit, I am aware of scams because I allowed myself to once be scammed by someone so I do my research now

- North Hollywood, CA, USA

I woke up one Sunday morning to a text message from a Mr. Franco Manuel saying I was selected out of 200 and he would like to gift me $50,000 USD. I searched this Mr. Franco guy and read about how imposters are sending out text messages and emails to people and scamming them. After further research, I decided to report this crime. I would advise anyone out there who receives these types of messages to not reply or move forward with them, but to report it.

I received this same text today (4/5/21), but mine was from (806) 662-9532 and the agents name and number is Johnson Milan at 1 (323) 870-1815. I replied and asked why he moved from Wisconsin to Texas and told him "I'm very disappointed that you are using a California yuppy as your agent (323 area code is Los Angeles). What a great way to get scammed. A true midwesterner would never do you dirty, you should have stayed local." So far, no reply, darn... lol

An Instagram account under the name of @ _manuel_.franc0_ recently followed me on Instagram. His profile stated that he is giving away $50,000 to random people that are in need of the money. I sent him a message and he asked for my full name, address, and phone number. I did not know this was a scam when I first messaged him and I sent him my name, address and phone number but quickly unsent the message right after that so that he could not see it. This person is pretending to be Manuel Franco and telling others that he will sent them money through FedEx. I am worried and I hope he did not save my address or phone number even though I deleted the message a minute after. His account has pictures of Manuel Franco as well and he is following random people in order to get them to send their personal information.

Hello I was send the text yesterday but the name is different and the phone number the name is Brad Harrison. I play alone then he asked for 100 dollars to activate my winning and the shipping. He said sense I didn’t replied. I am waiting he thought that I was going to go get the card. When I said that I didn’t have any money. He said why don’t you tell me before. Then he said how much money you got right now. Maybe I can help you. If you have some money. I said 0. People is not going to give money and later asked for payment. I hope they get caught. Please don’t believe on this people.

- Lebanon, PA, USA

I received a text stating that Manuel Franco was going to give me $30,000 as a part of a charity project. They did not ask for money yet, but they did ask me to contact a "Fedex agent" with my winning amount. In an attempt to support their claim they added a link to a YouTube video showing lottery winner Manuel Franco. I did not open the link in case doing so would lead to anything but the supposed video. I have not responded to the text.

Mr Ronald Schwartz sounded like English isn’t his 1st language. His supposed to be the “agent” in charge of the winning money from Mr Manuel’s Franco “donations”.

Mr Ronald wants and Excuses to get me scammed:

-$200 for activating my winnings. ( paid him through Venmo)

- To deliver my package, He asked me to Pay $1,500 with Visa or Google Play card for IRS. And then ANOTHER $1,500 for IRS to continue the “documents” allow the delivery sent to me. And proof that the donation package money wasn’t STOLEN.

- THE FINAL STAGE wasn’t supposed to get anymore payment from any government...

- Final delivery stage is supposed to be sent to me. EXCUSE for not able to continue to my Delivery. The “CIA” stopped the Delivery man. CIA Found out that they deliver cash money for a donation from me. Mr Ronald told me the Bad News that the CIA wanted $10,000!!!! Because of how much cash was supposed to be delivered to me. He said CIA and IRS work together. Of course my final was I didn’t pay $10,000.

- I DO NOT think Government asked for money like IRS or the CIA.

- The thing I noticed a lot. He always says something like; “If you pay NOW with this amount, then your package will be DELIVERED to your front door the NEXT DAY FOR SURE!( this is A BIG FAT SCAM people )!!!!

- He keeps sending me texts with a BIG LETTER CASE OF WORDS SAYING:

DO NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT YOUR WINNINGS AFTER YOU RECEIVE IT. IF YOU DO, Your winnings will be TAKEN! We are 100% this is legitimate money. And you do not require to pay it BACK.

( Another BIG FAT SCAM. )

- Also he sent me an email of AWARD WINNING CERTIFICATE wrote from Mr Manuel Franco. With All capital letters. The email was in the scam folder.

- To make me BELIEVE That the prize was real. He sent me the track number codes for the delivery.

“FedEx DELIVERY”- AIM: SHDPsdRep. Reff No: (XYL/36410460037/10 Batch No: 24/00319/IP.

Tracking CODE: 784471216581

When I checked the codes it was Transit in Arizona but found out the delivery package wasn’t even there in Arizona yet.

He also sent me photos of my package being delivered by FEDEX and the case he put it in( which I found in google photos: the case money).

So I lost total of $3,200 (. 3 months of work money) Because of COVID I was desperate for money. It was my 1st time experiencing being SCAMMED.

Be aware of these Venmo names and ADDRESS :

Victory Barrios( @Victor-Barrios-25 )

Gaston Niyitegeka( @Gaston-Niyitegeka )

This address: ( he wanted to send the money Walmart to Walmart) with this address. But I didn’t use it because they were afraid I will be asked by a cashier at Walmart. I’ve have never sent money Walmart to Walmart before. But this is the Address Mr Ronald wanted me to send the $1,500 the first time.

Was contacted on Instagram on 3/11/21 by a scammer claiming to be Mr. Manuel Franco,

He attempted to get my Home address, email, and phone number. He claimed he needed this personal information in order for me to get a large sum of money ( around 50,000) through FedEx delivery. He stated he had won the lottery and wanted to help the poor with some of his winnings. I felt something was wrong and kept calling him a scammer and was shaming him for taking advantage of poor people in a time of great financial need due to COVID-19..etc. He proceeded to try and convince me that he was the real Manuel Franco and showed me a barrage of photos and conversations he had with winners he allegedly donated money too. I kept telling him I don't give out my personal info like that online, because it is dangerous! But, he kept trying to pretend he was doing an honorable thing and was only trying to help me. He has a fake IG account named manuelfranco9460 which is a fake copy of the real Manuel Franco's Official IG page. I let him that it was wrong what he was doing and that Karma was going to get him, for this evil act of scamming people. He kept trying to convince me that he was legit and these are the details that he gave me for the cash delivery of my money. Info below:
Online Ticket Number: 8748333770
Serial Number: 101-116
Grant Winning Number: 31-U20-FB12
Type YES to process your claim. He stated all I had to do was pay a $100 FedEx holding fee to the cashapp address of $mummy292... Of course, I really let him have it, and asked him why he would be asking for money from the poor, if he had won all this money, and his goal was to give money to the poor. It didn't make sense! So, I researched the scams that were going on online regarding Mr. Franco donating money to the poor randomly, and I let him know that I knew he was a scammer, and that he would reap what he had sewn. He is still active in scamming and committing fraud on others
right now on IG, as we speak from that fake account page on Instagram named. manuelfranco9460.

This morning at 4:11a.m. I got a text from the Manuel Franco Scammers. It was just like everyone else story. He told me I was picked out of 200 people and won 50,000USD. An then has I got reading the rest of the text. He said he desided to donate the sum of 50,000USD to me. What a [censored]. Lol
These people need to be stopped. He gave me a number to text to confirm the winnings and how I wanted the winnings delivered. It was suppose to be his agent he said. They got to be stopped. If everyone would call and report this scam. Take a picture of whatever they try. Cause they are changing parts of the scam. But if everyone will notice there using just a couple of numbers for the fake agent. BUT THE FIRST TEXT OR FIRST CONTACT THEY USE IS THE SAME. So maybe we all can give this information to the police and FBI.

This morning I received a text message from "Manuel Franco" saying that he won the Powerball jackpot and now  he is giving away money "randomly" to 200 people! I text him from a different number and gave him false information. Then he asked if I had a bank account where I can send the 100 dollars. I said no then he asked to go to the near store and get a mt gift card of 100 dollars. I asked at what time he close he said at 6pm. I told him I’ll get it tomorrow because Ii just in to work. He asked at what time I would be getting the money u said at 10 the next day which is today. He texted me around 8 asking me at what time I was going to send the money. I told him I am not because this is a scam. He no this is 100% real. I told him if mr Franco was to give money away he would have his attorney handling not him, and he wouldn’t be asking for money. He said that I was real I said stop doing this to people. May God have mercy on your soul.

I just got the same text and same agent like 20 minutes ago

- Dickinson, ND, USA

Text message from someone claiming to be Manuel Franco offered $50,000 of his lottery winnings. He said to contact Richard Helton at 626-607-4251 to confirm my winnings and have them delivered.

- Centerton, AR, USA

I saw this guy on Instagram saying “to the first 500 people will receive $50,000.” So I just said "Hello" and he told me that “I’m blessed” and that I needed to fill out a form for FedEx. I really wasn’t thinking that this could be a scam because I did a quick check and found out he was a real person. So I filled it out and he told me that I would have to pay the shipping in order to receive this money. He told me how much that would be and I told him that I can not do that because I am disabled so he said that he would help me and just wait a few moments that he would be back to the conversation. While waiting I checked him out some more and found out about the scams and now I’m afraid because he has my information and I’m a disabled person and only receive a small monthly check. He has my name, address, phone number, email and my age. I hope that I can get some help and also try to help other people like myself that are on disability not to get taken as I may have been.
