The call was a robo call telling me it was my last chance to stop the IRS from suing me. I was told to call 202-684-7715. I didn't call so that is all I know about it.

Called and left several messages stating that my SSN has been compromised and they haven't got a response from me so it has been considered intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under my name by the US government, and to call them back.

- Tucson, AZ, USA

I received a phone call with an automated voice telling me that it is my last chance to pay some fee that I did not pay to the IRS and that I would get arrested unless I called them back and paid the fee. I called the number back to tell them to stop calling me and an Indian man answered the phone as an "IRS agent". I immediately said "Stop calling me. Take me off your phone list I know this is a scam." He responded with "Okay, okay we will". He then hung up.

"This is a call from the IRS and we have a warrant for your arrest and you must...." and I hung up at that point because I knew it was a scam. They called me a total of three times using different phone numbers and different states. First two calls were recorded type calls (not a real person) and the third call was an actual person, female, "Is this (my name). I am from the IRS...."

Very heavy accent, couldn't even pronounce my name correctly. I just kept saying, "Please take me off your call list" over and over until she finally hung up. She did, at one point say, this is not an airplane!

The first number indicated it was calling from Illinois: 217-548-4345 at 11:52 AM; second call indicated it was calling from Texas: 281-816-7661 1:48 PM; and the third call indicated it was from Arizona: 480-923-9756 at 1:53 PM all on Wednesday, January 16, 2019

A caller left me a message that I had 4 serious allegations on my name and if I didn't respond the police would arrest me.

I returned the call and a person with foreign accent answered. He very rapidly and he said who he worked for. I said you work for the Internal Revenue Service of the US and he said yes. I questioned him as to why he was calling when the IRS doesn't contact you by phone and I asked for his supervisor. The man gave me the name of John Rogers. When I said this is a scam, he hung up. I have two separate messages about this from 2 separate numbers.

Told consumer they were the IRS and it was urgent they call with in 2 hours or they would be arrested.

Received a phone call number popped up as Washington DC - 202-846-2219 the other end said I needed to call this number RIGHT AWAY - that I had an IRS Claim that is in a Law Suit and if didn't call they would be at my place with Local Police and haul me away in next 24 hours.

I called number - They asked my name - I asked who they were he stated IRS - Officer David Miller and was I aware of a Law Suit from the IRS - I told him it was a scam and didn't give any information he hung up. WHY DONT PEOPLE EARN A HONEST LIVING!!!!

- Breaux Bridge, LA, USA

When I answered the phone, a male voice said that my name was on an IRS list. I hung up before listening to the rest because I know the IRS doesn't call people.

Received a call stating that there taxes are going to be garnished. That the social security and your name has been flagged.

- Prairieville, LA, USA

The same “officer” has called from several different phone numbers all over the country, leaving the same voicemails, wanting me to call back immediately to avoid arrest.

- Savannah, GA, USA

- Little Chute, WI, USA

- Blountsville, AL, USA

Received telephone call 830am this morning with number left to return the urgent call. It was a recorded voice like a robot and said that we were going to lose everything, our home etc. and be put in jail as we did not pay our taxes. Phone number they used was 309-726-4663.

- Johnstown, OH, USA

I received the following voice mail on 12.10.18: You have failed to file your actual income tax which was higher than it was supposed to be. We've already informed the local police and they will be at your doorstep at anytime with an arrest warrant. Immediately call our number 323-315-0453.

- Wadsworth, OH, USA

Call back out face legal action

- Richmond, CA, USA

I received an automated call from the "legal department of the IRS" stating they received a claim against me and I need to return the call before they proceed and I can get arrested. I called back the number but it hangs up. I know the IRS doesn't call and threaten to arrest people but I was curious about what they would say.

- Terre Haute, IN, USA

Telling me there are 4 law suits on me for tax filling errors if I don't respond in 24 hrs they will send local cops to arrest me.

This a recording when called back it says nothing about being IRS.

- Pearl River, LA, USA

Messages have been left on my phone regarding 4 charges against me and that I need to call within the next two hours to avoid "being taken into custody by federal officers". It further states to call 325-999-8797 to avoid arrest. (I do not owe the IRS.)

I phoned the number from a landline just out of curiosity and the lady who answered the phone stated she was with the IRS. She asked for my name then put me on hold. When she returned a minute or so later, she stated the phone number didn't match so I could disregard the call. (I never gave her my phone number or any additional identifiable information.) This has happened 2 days in a row (12/6 & 12/7).

I just want to report it so others' can be aware and not fall for this scam.
