They asked about my social security, my parents name, address. I was reached at least 100 times from scammer. They will claim that you have an outstanding balance, they will manipulate you into thinking that you will be arrested. They asked my name, address, age.

My son accepted a robocall from someone claiming to be with the IRS. When I spoke with the women she asked for and I gave my name and address. She also asked for my bank account number but I said no. She said I owed $1000 on my taxes and asked for payment. When I said I didn't have the money she told me to go and borrow it from someone.

I listened to most of the recorded call up to where to send money, then hung up. I was immediately called right back from the same number. I answered again and let the recording start to talk and hung up. The number is showing on caller ID from Pennsylvania and the number is 610-465-8079 they are saying it is the IRS and you are going to be arrested due to being involved with illegal activities and need to pay $ to avoid jail right now over the phone. I was called twice about this.

- Albuquerque, NM, USA

I received a call telling me I was guilty of tax fraud and that I was to call the number back before I was arrested.

I believe that calling back the number enables them to record one's voice saying "yes" then using the information for nefarious reasons.

I am continually getting calls from 678-261-6457 (landline in Atlanta, GA) saying they are the IRS. The calls are threatening in nature. In checking online I find this - "Number 6782616457 is a Landline phone number located in the city of Atlanta in Georgia, and operated by GLOBAL CROSSING LOCAL SERVICES, INC.-GA." The BBB has no record of this business in Atlanta.

- Merryville, LA, USA

It was a recording. It said I owed money to the IRS. Do not hang up, if I did all my accounts would be froze until the matter was taken care of. I hung up.

- Nashville, TN, USA

Indian male on the line claiming to be IRS agent stating I owe back taxes for several years in the amount of $4950.00. After giving him a fake name he said the police would arrest me and I would fight them in court and probably go to jail for 5 years. Complying to “pay”. We settled on $2000 then I had to drive to a gas station and put my money on a Google Play prepaid card. I gave him so arbitrary numbers he realized I wasn’t an [censored] and then he cursed me and hung up.

I could see some sweet old lady getting scammed. BE CAREFUL. THE IRS WILL NEVER CALL!!!!!

They will WRITE YOU!!

It was a recording that said I needed to call the above number so or my name (which they didn't say) would be downloaded to the case docket to be sued.

Just received a recorded phone call from (631) 306-4771 stating they were the IRS and that they were coming after me for tax fraud. I called the number back and the guy that answered said he was with the IRS but did not seem believable so I hung up thinking it was a scam. After searching the phone number and IRS I'm pretty sure these guys are trying to scam folks….so, I thought I'd report them to you. thanks
