They called and said they were the IRS and if I don't pay right now they were sending an officer out in 20 minutes to arrest me.

- Santa Barbara, CA, USA

It is a recorded call claiming to be the IRS and that my social security number has been suspended due to fraudulent activity. I hung up and did not give them any info (they ask you to press 1 to get to a person). They keep calling back, I've gotten about about 6 calls in one day. I got these same scam calls for several days in a row a couple months ago. They change the phone number they call from so even when you block their number they keep calling back.

- Pensacola, FL, USA

The call stated that I have a warrant out for my arrest. that myself and my property are being monitored and to call back at 2084151236. And when I called back my call was rejected.

On May 2, I received a call from the "IRS." They said I owed the IRS over $7,000, and they would let me make a $30 payment the next day (I didn't have any money that day). I called today, and no one answered. I got suspicious and called BBB, who told me it was a total scam. Unfortunately, I think I gave them my SSN, but ScamPulse.com gave me several suggestions to protect myself. Hurray for the BBB!

I only listened to the first part of the pitch..."If you are receiving this call the IRS is taking legal action..." that when I disconnected. If it were the IRS, they would know who you are and would be asking for you up front.

I was waiting for a doctor to call me back. So when I didn’t make it to phone when i had an In coming I called the number back as it was same area code as my Dr. Caller. The man huge accent told me if I don’t pay for taxes there would be a cop at my door. I get these all the time. Then something about someone scammed my social security card. I’m very educated and aware of scams. However he was extremely threatening about cops coming to my door yelling in phone at me.

Maybe, you didn't know. I told him No I didn't know they was filing wrong. I ask him could you tell me exactly was I did wrong. He said he couldn’t do that but he wants me to write down my case number CP11A. He asked me do I have a criminal lawyer. I told him No. I said could you give me time to get a lawyer. He said ma'am if we hang up this phone. I will send the officer out and have you arrest immediately. He said, I need you to listen to me and don't interrupt me while I'm explaining what this call is about. I didn't understand any of it. He caught my attend at that time. I told him I rather try to pay it back if own anything. I kept ask him why is you guys are contacting me this way. Again I said I don't understand this. He said, I will have to let you talk to one of the officer then men came to the phone by the name of Richard Weber and began to ask me did I want to go around the criminal case by paying the amount of $3,987. He told that it had to go through money transmitter. then he said, do you have cash or I would have to get it for the bank and that when I told him NO I don't have any money and then I say I will contact the Police myself. That when he said, He was going to put the order in for my arrest.

Rec'd a call from 727-339-5250 claiming they are the investigative branch of the IRS, asked how long ago I rec'd the call and when I told them that the IRS only sends letters, then they were able to provide me with my address and that supposedly they had sent letters to my address. With that I said I would call the IRS, and they said go ahead and if I don't believe them I could hang up and I hung up.

I got a call while I was at work on 4.10.19. I got two calls on my cell phone; one from Washington DC and one from Columbus. The first caller was a lady. She said she was investigator from the IRS and my taxes from 2016 and 2017. She asked who did my taxes. I said why do you want to know. She gave me a fake case number. She transferred the call to a man who said I have a service problem. He said the IRS would come to my work. He said the police is going to come get you tonight at 7pm. He said 2 officers are coming to work. He said if you don't want problem. Get up from your work and go to my house and get my ATM card and go to the bank and get $500 and go to 3349 Refugee Rd, Dollar General. When I said I have the card, he told me to go back to my car. Once in my car, he told me to read the numbers off the back. He said don't hang up. He said don't talk to nobody. He said get the money in your hand. Go to Dollar General. Then the lady said I owed more if I didn't want to go to jail. The man said don't go to Family dollar go to Kroger and buy a Google Play card. I went to Kroger twice, and the lady didn't ask me anything. He said to pay another $337 for my bail and my case would be dismissed from the courthouse. I asked why, he asked me if I've ever been to court, I said no. He said that's why you don't understand. When I came back to work, my co-workers told me the IRS didn't call me and it was a scam. They called from 614-369-4026 and 206-886-3989.
