The man huge accent told me if I don’t pay for taxes there would be a cop at my door. I get these all the time. Then something about someone scammed my social security card. Rec'd a call from 727-339-5250 claiming they are the investigative branch of the IRS, asked how long ago I rec'd the call and when I told them that the IRS only sends letters, then they were able to provide me with my address and that supposedly they had sent letters to my address. With that I said I would call the IRS, and they said go ahead and if I don't believe them I could hang up and I hung up.

I got a call while I was at work on 4.10.19. I got two calls on my cell phone; one from Washington DC and one from Columbus. The first caller was a lady. She said she was investigator from the IRS and my taxes from 2016 and 2017. She asked who did my taxes. I said why do you want to know. She gave me a fake case number. She transferred the call to a man who said I have a service problem. He said the IRS would come to my work. He said the police is going to come get you tonight at 7pm. He said 2 officers are coming to work. He said if you don't want problem. Get up from your work and go to my house and get my ATM card and go to the bank and get $500 and go to 3349 Refugee Rd, Dollar General. When I said I have the card, he told me to go back to my car. Once in my car, he told me to read the numbers off the back. He said don't hang up. He said don't talk to nobody. He said get the money in your hand. Go to Dollar General. Then the lady said I owed more if I didn't want to go to jail. The man said don't go to Family dollar go to Kroger and buy a Google Play card. I went to Kroger twice, and the lady didn't ask me anything. He said to pay another $337 for my bail and my case would be dismissed from the courthouse. I asked why, he asked me if I've ever been to court, I said no. He said that's why you don't understand. When I came back to work, my co-workers told me the IRS didn't call me and it was a scam. They called from 614-369-4026 and 206-886-3989.

I received an email from someone claiming to be the IRS today-Tuesday April 9, 2019. The message stated that I had a refund of $375.00 due and all I had to do is give them my personal information to confirm.

I did not get their web site as they apparently took it down when I was maneuvering in the message.

I ignored the first call as it was a number I didn't recognize. They left an automated voicemail mentioning evasion and failing to appear for a court appearance. I called back and did get a real person. He claimed his name was Ben Reed and gave me several numbers to write down. He even had me repeat them back to him. He read my address to me (which is public information). He stated a police officer tried to bring the tax paper work to my home on January 10th, but no one was home. He read me an affidavit stating there were 3 counts of criminal allegations against me from the IRS. He said I could be responsible to either pay the IRS 80 thousand dollars or go to federal prison for up to 5 years. He told me I had 2 options. 1: hire an attorney and fight the claim in court or 2: resolve the matter outside of court. He told me if I chose resolution he would forward me to his superior. I hung up at that point. I'm assuming they would have asked me for over the phone payment. They told me I owed the IRS $3,871.92. After I hung up the phone he attempted to call back once and I didn't answer.
