IRS Reports & Reviews (5106)

We keep receiving phone calls from 205 202 0136 telling us my wife has an IRS warrant and we need to call back for them to review her file. The gentleman has a very thick Indian accent and has called at least 10 times over the past 2 weeks. We ignore the calls but he leaves VM every time. Goes by the name of James Anderson. I haven't call back and don't plan to.

At 10:38am on March 31,2016 a recorded message was received telling us the IRS is suing us. I did not call them, and deleted the message.

My grandparents are getting phone calls saying they owe over $2,000 from their 2009 records. We told them that we would be contacting IRS ourselves and they hung up. Thanks for your help!

Received a phone call on my cell. It was a recording of a female "This is your final notice. We have been trying to contact you. The IRS is suing you. For more information call 619-548-3976". This was the same phone # the call came from. When you call this number different people answer saying they are with the IRS. They ask for your cell number to "put in the computer" and name. When no information is given they hang up.

I had received a call on my cell phone and a message was left that it was the IRS and said they have been trying to reach me and were going to file a law suit on my taxes owed and to call this number 631-709-0071 as soon as possible to get resolved.

Left a voice mail saying if I didn't contact them back the IRS has a lawsuit against me I will got to jail in next 2 days

- Morgantown, WV, USA

Received a phone call from 515-443-7425 saying I filed my taxes wrong for the past 6 years and that if I did not resolve the $7,150 debt, the IRS will be at my door within 3 hours with a warrant for my arrest and they will seize all of my assets. All they got from me was my name and zip code. I told them I will contact my attorney to handle anything further. The man (who had a very indian accent) said his name was John Mars and he kept repeating that I will be arrested and they will take everything I have. Even though he did not get any vital information from me, it was quite convincing and I feel like he would have easily threatened someone else into paying him.

Was contacted by an auto-dial referring us to the number 509-681-3392. Someone with a mid-eastern/Indian accent claimed we were about to be sued by the IRS, coincidentally the same time as our neighbor was facing similar threats from the same number. No talk of "settling" the debt was discussed as we called shenanigans on this claim before any attempt could be made by them to take money.

Caller claimed to be an IRS officer and asked for personal information, including my taxpayer id (social security number).

Called the consumer and indicated that she owed money to the IRS.

- Colchester, VT, USA

A family member answered the phone. The family member stated that they persons said that they were from IRS, said no names of who they were looking for, they were hard to understand and to please call back before any action was taken against me.

- Puyallup, WA, USA

They claim to be the IRS, and when you call they say you owe money or you will be prosecuted. I don't know how much money they were trying to get, because I didn't let it get that far. They hung up on me. When I called back they answer saying IRS. When they heard me talk they hung up again.

- Bradford, OH, USA

Received a call from Washington saying they were from the IRS investigative team and they found discrepancies on taxes from 2008-2012. They said they mailed me a statement in July 2015 and asked me if I wanted this to go to court. I told them I never received anything in the mail and they said we just verified your address. I told them I was calling the state of Ohio irs and the bbb and they hung up on me

The following number calls from New Orleans, La and leaves a message stating that it is the IRS and that they are going to file suit against you. The number is: 504-648-7634. The message request that you call back this same number for details.

- Dublin, GA, USA

An "officer" with the IRS called informing me of a suit against me by the IRS. I was informed I could settle in court or out of court. The "chief officer" prompted me to go to my bank, while staying on the line, and complete an electronic funds transfer of $9,800 to settle my claim.

The scam used account numbers, threats of arrest, documented attempts to inform me of my backed taxes and other seemingly "official" methods to convince my of the charges against me.

The scammers seemed to speak English in a heavy asian dialect.

I used whitepages to look the phone number up; it is flagged as a known IRS scam.

Received a voice mail from the IRS claiming I am being sued for owing back taxes. They asked to call them back at 202-407-9986. I just wanted to inform the ScamPulse.com of this.

You are being sued by the IRS

I received two voicemails on 3/17/16 that I am being sued by the IRS and asked for an urgent return phone call. My husband called back and they asked him for his home address. When he did not give it the lady said the address and asked if it was correct, saying that they needed it for identification purposes before proceeding. When he agreed they told him I was being sued by the IRS for a tax collection. He told her to not call back and threatened to call the police if she did.

My husband received a call, saying they were the IRS; from phone number 305-407-1377, the contact name was Nikki Johnson; she told him he owed over $4,000 in back taxes from the last two years. He phoned me, gave me the number and the contact name. When I phoned, a man answered, "Thank you for calling the IRS, how may I help you?". I explained that I was returning a call and he asked me if this was [my son's name], I asked, "Why do you want to speak to my son?", he responded, "This is your son?", I said yes. He replied, "Then he is a minor?", I said yes...then repeated my question why did he want to speak to him; "I am calling about the phone call my husband received." He asked me for the phone number in reference, and I repeated the same number I already provided. He asked what his name was, I gave it to him and he asked me to hold a moment. When he came back, he said the case worker was not available, could I call back. I told him no, that she was welcome to call me back when she was available; but before you go, what is the case number for my husband? He asked, "The case number?" I said yes, "...you asked me for a case number earlier when asking about my son...what is the number for the case on my husband?" He replied, "I do not have that information because it is not my case." I told him, "NO, if you are the IRS, then you have access to the information; let me speak to a supervisor!" He said he was the supervisor and I told him to let me speak with a supervisor over him. He replied, "If you want to speak to a supervisor over me, you will have to wait one to two years for a response." I replied, "NO, IF YOU ARE REALLY THE IRS, YOU WILL LET ME SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR RIGHT THIS MINUTE, OR I AM REPORTING THIS NUMBER AS A SCAM!" I was disconnected.
