I applied for a job listing sent as a recommendation by indeed.com for a remote position as an Order Entry Associate for United Elevator Company, LLC which I Googled at the time and found a real company. I later received an email from a candidate email ending in @united-elevator-company-llc.breezy-mail.com under the name Harold W. Carroll, stating I was chosen for an interview for their Data Entry Clerk position, and the company name listed for the signature was CardConnect LLC. I checked the email address and saw United Elevator Company in the address so I figured they hired through a secondary company. I was told to download an app called Telegram. Within the email was a link to contact their "recruiter" David King via Telegram, https://t.me/David_kingdesk, that could only be used after downloading the app. The interview was conducted via text chat. Basic interview questions about my skills, previous work, and what makes me right for the job were discussed. He explained what software would be used and stated that a fully programmed laptop would be provided by the company with everything I needed. A job offer was made and accepted. A work contract was sent to me from [email protected] for me to review, sign and return. The name listed as the employer on the contract was CardConnect Inc. After reviewing the contract and everything seeming normal (I didn't notice the change from LLC to Inc right away), I signed and returned it, then asked when I could expect to receive the equipment that the company was to provide. He stated I would be sent a check and then he would give me instructions on how to order what I needed from their vendor. A few minutes later a check was sent via email using OnlineCheckWriter.com under the company name Secure Transportation Co, Inc. I was instructed to print the check on plain paper then deposit it to my account. I started to feel nervous because I've never received a check like that and the names weren't matching. I started Googling the company names that were used to see if I'd been scammed. There is a company named Secure Transportation with the same logo picture, but their name does not include "Co, Inc." in the name. I called to inquire if they legitimately sent me this check. They confirmed that they have received other calls with the same question and that it was unfortunately a scam as they don't make large payments on behalf of other companies. The check was labeled Comerica Bank, so I drove to my local branch and gave them the print out of the check. I voiced my concerns that it might be a scam to the teller and explained the situation. They scanned the check and sent it to their fraud department to investigate for us. It was determined that the check was fraudulent, information was incorrect and the document was missing information. Upon confronting the "recruiter" to rescind my job acceptance and notifying them of the confirmed fraud, the entire chat was deleted. Super fun way to think I got a work from home job only to find out people suck and scams never stop.

My Girlfriend applied for a job on Indeed.com with Evonik technology! They replied with an email requesting she download and install Wire App for the interview process because they were told by the ScamPulse.com to use that app for secure interviews. They scheduled an interview for 11/9/2022 and had sent the Letter Of Employment as an attachment. Simply seemed like a scam to me, too many red flags. I researched the email address, the name associated with it and Evonik along with Wire app and nothing added up. Hoping this helps to prevent folks from getting scammed in the future. Thanks!

Looking for part-time job on indeed.com she contacted me, said I would work for her as her personal assistant running errands and paying bills for her since she busy alot, ill and need an assistant. She said I would be an independent contractor, I believed that since this was from indeed it was legitimate, and she turned out to be fake. I honestly look for a side job on indeed.com and this is what I have to go through. Very upset! It's sad.

There is a job posting for an Office Assistant position for "Best Builders, Inc." in Little Rock, AR. This is a phony ad for the position. The scammer is posing as the principal officer named Lewis Jones and contacting applicants via email offering them the job. Then he sends an email to the applicant asking for more information such as bank account info for direct deposits, etc.

I am the principal officer at Best Builders, Inc. and we did not post that job listing. I have talked to Indeed and they have removed the job listing. However, I have heard from some applicants that are contacting our office directly there are some other sites that have a link to that job listing somewhere else online.

I received an email from CareerBuilder from someone named Mallory for Indeed.com. They had a Staffing Coordinator position for Indeed.com which was part time and work from home making 700 weekly. Sounded legit to me at first, filled out application and went through the process. All emails were from a Donald Hayes in which all my questions were answered also. I thought it was odd after I was accepted and no one had called me for a interview. When filling out my final paperwork they ask for my bank account from specific banks which I don't belong to, so I told Donald I would need time to set them up and in the mean time will take my check through mail. He responded the only make payments through their bank account and asked which bank do I belong to. I feel bad I gave my personal information, I didn't give my social or bank info but they do have my address. I'm just praying nothing serious happens to me.

I applied to one of the jobs that i viewed on Indeed.ca for a Staffing Coordinator role at Indeed and forwarded my resume and cover letter to the email given in the job ad . I got response back from Jackie Richard email [email protected] stating that i have been selected in the hiring process for Staffing Coordinator role at Indeed . She emailed me a test and job application form to fill in , I completed all the details as asked for and was waiting for her response . She responded with a job offer and asking to deposit $2985 CAD to my account to send it to a vendor for equipment . That`s where I felt its a scam and thought of reporting it right away .

I am an honest ,hardworking Individual looking for legitimate career for myself , I have nothing to do with these scams , Please help me understand how to save myself from all this
