The scammer presented a job offfer on Indeed from. The domain([email protected]) is bogus. Brian Gold stated that a check would be mailed to my address for the purchasing of computer/office related items that were necessary to start work. The check arrived in the mail. The UPS check arrived from Qualcomm in Austin, TX but it was written from Amerist Bank in Florida to a Shantoshi, Inc. In addition to this information, the routing number on the check referenced a bank out of Georgia. The check was deposited and was later rejected. Mr. Brian Gold avoided any phone calls. Instead, he opted to speak only through Skype. Brian Gold appeared to be a recruiter of some sorts with Mr. Brian Meldrum. Brian Meldrum is an employee of JD Power. Brian Meldrum’s name was on the contract my Network Administrator contract. I reached out to Brian Meldrum on LinkedIn and via email to alert him of the bad actor(Brian Gold), but he did not respond.

After a few days of supposedly being onboarded by bad actor(Brian Gold), he repeatedly asked me about the status of the funds from check. Then he broke down and finally asked me to purchase a Greendot Card and put $40 on the card. I politely said “No”

I applied on Indeed for a job and contacted to fill out a questionnaire/interview survey. I then was told that I was hired and I needed to sign an acceptance letter. The next step involved getting some computer equipment and reimbursement.

I applied for a job with Indeed.com for Customer Support Representative. The link is/was https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?from=app-tracker-post_apply-appcard&hl=en&... />
I was contacted via email to send a certain code to [email protected] and she will contact me about the Customer Support Rep job.

She contacted me via email [email protected] to let me know that she received my resume and was interested in hiring me. She asked a few questions in which I responded. She then stated that I had the job and she will send me all the equipment as well as a sign on bonus. I searched for this to see if this lady was legit. she showed up, https://ca.linkedin.com/in/sherri-stewart-0b352222a. She has an online presence as well as the company, Acumatica. A couple days later, she text me and stated that there is a package with the funds to order the equipment. I needed to deposit it and let her know when this is done and she will send me the information to get all the necessary equipment. As this was my first time trying this, I opened an account and tried to deposit the check. Due to the bank protocol, I had to wait 10 days for the check to clear before having the funds. I emailed "Sherri" and let her know that the funds were frozen. She never returned the email or text. I tried to call and the number would not go through. I let the bank know that the check was bad and then confirmed this. Luckly, I grew suspicious and didn't touch the "deposited money".

She now has placed on the "Linked In" site that she is not hiring and that if anyone contacts you with her name it is a misrepresentation.

I was approached on Indeed.com by an HR company. Since Indeed.com is a legitimate website, I thought this was legitimate. They asked me to fill out a simple form, with my address and name. asked me if I am a US citizen, everything looked okay.

The next day I was reached out by someone from the company that was actually hiring, from the HR department, they made me fill out some basic form of agreement. No suspicious info was requested. This morning they asked me to register for a personal account on their website and upload my ID.

This looked very suspicious to me because it was nothing like the other hiring process.

As of now they have my name and address only.

Beware.

I was sent the following email:

Dear Ebony,

Welcome to our team. It's a pleasure to meet you!

First things first. As you have read in your Employment Agreement, your first day of work will begin once you process your first order. This day will be reflected in the CRM system as: My Account - Account Details - Account Open Date. The dates of your following paydays will be shown there as well.

For your probation month you will earn $3300.00 base rate + $130.00 transport expenses = $3430.00/month.

In a permanent position you will earn $3700.00 base rate + $150.00 transport expenses = $3850.00/month.

We've got few perks to offer you once you get on board with us:

Sometimes you will incur other job-related expenses for items such as clear packing tape, ink cartridges, basic printer, etc. You are eligible for reimbursement on these products. Just email the copies of your receipts for job related purchases to Payroll Department as an attachment. You can send them one by one, or submit all of them at the end of your probation.

The reimbursement for job related expenses, as well as a fixed amount of gas reimbursement will be added to your first paycheck altogether. No need to attach receipts for gas.

Please, keep in mind that you are eligible to receive a bonus for any extra working hours. Keep notes on every weekend/overtime processing (including order ID's) in any format, which is more convenient for you, and then email it to me 3 days prior the end of your probation.

As soon as the received information is confirmed by our Sales Department, the total amount of bonuses will be calculated and added to your first paycheck.

Now let's get to the specific documentation we need to receive from you in order to make sure your paycheck gets processed smoothly and in time on your scheduled payday.

Your first payment for probationary period will be processed on an Independent Contractor basis with no taxes deduction. For this reason, you are required to fill out the IRS W-9 tax form. Please, be advised that your earnings must be reported to the IRS at the end of the year. You can find the IRS W-9 tax form enclosed. Please, return it to me within 2 days since your probation starts to avoid any delays in releasing your paycheck.

No documents by regular mail are accepted, since we are unable to guarantee the security of sensitive information provided. At the same time, our email correspondence runs through encrypted electronic channel and remains highly secured and safe.

Your first paycheck is available in a form of a regular paper check and will be mailed at the end of your training (30 days after the first package gets processed) on your scheduled payday, since there might be bonuses or fines (per our Employment Agreement) applied. However, you can opt for direct deposit and bi-weekly payments once you are enrolled in a permanent position with our company.

Upon the end of your training it will be decided, if you are offered a full time position in our company or not. The evaluation report on your performance will be sent over to our HR Department by your personal manager on the last day of your training and it will take some time to be reviewed by our HR team.

Once you successfully pass your probation and get offered a permanent position, you will need to fill out and submit IRS W-4 tax document and USCIS I-9 form to become our full time employee. We will notify you in advance if the need to submit those forms occurs to assure smooth transition to your full time position.

The address we have in your CRM profile will be used for mailing your paycheck. If you would like your check to be sent to an alternate address, please advise me of this address, including your zip code.

I wish you very good luck in your new positions!

I hope you will enjoy fully working in our team, and that you pass your probation period with flying colors!

Thank you for your time. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding Payroll.

---

Thank you,

Debra Brooks / Payroll Dept.

I SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED PACKAGES, 2 OF WHICH WERE CELL PHONES THAT COST OVER $1,500 PER PHONE! I WAS TOLD MY CHECK HAS BEEN MAILED ON 4/1/2023, AND WILL TAKE UP TO 10 DAYS ACCORDING TO MY LOCATION TO ARRIVE TO MY ADDRESS. TODAY IS 5/23/22 AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A PAYMENT FOR MY HARD WORK. IT'S A SCAMMMMMM!

- Norlina, NC, USA

This company constantly sent emails and text messages also called few times. She and the male have very thick asia accents and hard to understand but stated they wanted me to send cash app info with them or send an amazon gift card to set up some kind of training, shipping and insurance. then they sent over a form to have me fill out wanting me to hold my license with a piece of paper with today's date. I have done remote jobs many times before and I have never had to do any of these things before. I looked up this company reviews and it looks like this company has gotten a lot of people with this same tactics.

I applied for a job on indeed and received a text message tell me I'd been selected for an interview. I needed to Download Signal App to my phone and search for Stephanie Lynn at 323-524-7642 to proceed. I searched the app and the name and found the ScamPulse.com scam posted by another victim.

I called the REAL Fletch-Barney Plumbing from their phone number I googled and they said that they had been told about this scam and were sorry for the inconvenience, and that they did not post the position on indeed.com and had no open position for a Virtual Administrative Assistant. The email I received after applying for the fake job posting on indeed.com for Fletch-Barney Plumbing read:

Dear Kim,

Thank you for getting in touch. This is a full-time position, but it can also be done on a part-time basis depending on your availability.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited; running errands, supervising and monitoring, scheduling appointments and flights, and keeping me informed about my schedule. You will also act as my point of contact when I am unavailable, handle regular contacts, and oversee my financial activities.

I am a retired real estate attorney and I have been a local and international successful entrepreneur and sometimes invest in the real estate market which requires me to travel frequently inside and outside of the state while I am working on different independent projects.I live about 15 miles away from your zip code, and I am 65 years old.

I am willing to be flexible when it comes to fitting this role into your other commitments.I will provide specific instructions for each task, and you will receive the necessary funds to complete errands.

Currently, I am in Montreal, and I will return in two weeks for a formal interview with you and to fill out any required paperwork. Due to fluctuating COVID-19 restrictions and my busy schedule, this position does not require you to come into an office at present. The hours are flexible, and the salary is consistent, although some weeks may require more of your time.I do have some things that you can help me with this week if you are available.

You will be receiving $1200/week, health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off, which we can discuss in further detail when we meet. If you are interested, please fill out the following to get started. You must reside and be eligible to work in the U.S.
