The following are words of another victim, but its the exacnt same thing that happened to me.I received the following email and went through the signal application and completed the interview one day. Was notified the next day that I received the job and would receive paperwork. Something seemed fishy so I looked up the sender's name and came across the ScamPulse.com Scam... I was lucky enough to have some red flags and have not released any information yet.

Applying for a remote job. The company was XENCOR, a real company. Said I would have an interview through Microsoft Messenger with the hiring manager, Alice Hartshorn. Couldn't find any information on her or her relation with the company. Emailed me at 4am to say the interview would be the same day at 8am. I googled the email it was sent from, [email protected]; a reddit thread came up asking if it was a scam and it seemed to be so I didnt do the interview as they might have been looking to take my information.

Applied for a job through Indeed.com as A Dog Walker Through “BarkBus”. Received and email asking to email [email protected] to get everything together and get an interview started. Emailed back and forth throughout the day and everything seemed legit, I even did research on “Brian Lang” who is actually a real person so I thought everything was safe. I was asked to send my address, phone number, age and photos of myself as I would be taking care of someone’s personal dogs. Sent information asked of me than received an email back stating they would send me a check to my address and that I needed to cash it into my bank and send the money to “Dog Utility Suppliers”. Got really suspicious at this point and searched this email “[email protected]” and found multiple different people have been in contact with it throughout the United States and that it is actually a scam. Scammer now has my address and photos of myself. Unsure if it is a way for them to launder money or a kidnapping scenario.

These scammers are using Edifecs HR team members’ profiles on LinkedIn and posting fake job listings on Indeed. They initially reach out via email and request candidates to install and communicate through MS Teams. They never conduct a video interview. I reached out to the real Edifecs HR team through LinkedIn and confirmed that it was a scam.

I also found that others have been victimized for different roles as well. I assume that reason was Indeed.com have no verified system as Linked-in.

Job for remote work posted on indeed.com posing as a legitimate business. was asked to download secure messenger app to communicate with recruitment. Was asked to fill out a questionnaire with basic interview questions. Was told the next day the I got the job. After submitting what looked like standard new hire paperwork through email, i was then told I'd receive an email with an image file for a check that I would have to use to purchase equipment.

- Tucson, AZ, USA

Webinar took my photo said I would be recieving another interview with the right person and didn't send me a link. This was a dead give away that it was a scam with no active numbers for me to call for my upper management. Last year I had applied for the same company.

- Saint Louis, MO, USA

I came across this job listing on Indeed and I met up and went through training with someone and while going through training the system started asking me for money to move forward. I was assigned 40 tasks to complete so I could get paid and the trainer assured that any money I put in I would get back.

I worked for this company as a contractor through the arise portal and as such the money for the services i rendered went to them and they were supposed to pay me per the contract i entered with them. Instead they kept the money, effectively stealing it from me. They did this to a lot of other contractors as well. Their preferred target group is women and minorities. If you see a job posting or an add from this company it is likely a scam. Do not accept it or sign anything. Do not give them your personal or banking information. If anything changes or if I find any additional information i will update here

I applied for a job thru indeed with Currance Inc. as a remote medical biller. I was contacted by Robert Anderson from email [email protected]. We communicated three times when I was offered the job. He instructed me to send my name, address and phone number to email [email protected], which I communicated with four times when they sent me what they called an official offer with an employer/employee contract to sign and return with the front and back of my ID. I was then contacted by Darryl the hiring manager, by text from phone# 845-953-0896 with instructions on moving forward...they needed my bank name and how my name appeared on my checking account so that a check could by issued to purchase the equipment needed to setup my home office. Then they emailed a check for $4995.00 to endorse and deposit by mobile app. and requested a picture of the deposit confirmation. Fortunately, my bank rejected the deposit at which time he requested a copy of the issued check. Then the manager suggested I used another trusted sources' account, preferably a family member. Instead I call the bank noted on the check and was advised the check was no good. I both emailed hr@currancecareers and text 845-953-0896 that the check was no good....needless to say, there has been no further contact. But, my checking acct# was on the back of the check. I'm not sure how or what they did, but I had to change my sign-on info at my bank. The message from the bank was that my info had been posted to a web-site by another web-site. HA HA HA HA! to them, I purposely gave them a bank account# with no activity and no money! Stay DILIGENT PEOPLE, BAD PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!

A position for Data Entry Clerk was posted on Indeed. The company name used is Renova Energy (https://renovaenergy.com/)

I was contacted via email and asked to use Signal application. I have copies of all correspondence. I was sent a check via email from PNC Bank ( I filed a fraud report with PNC). I transferred monies - 2 $500 transactions (Dec 6 and Dec 9). Check was returned on 12/10. Here are phone numbers used in the scam - (442) 2649747 ; (737) 330-6226; (628)363-7342; (424) 507-7788

This scammer used Clarkston United Methodist Church as their front for a remote data entry specialist job posting. They told me they would be sending me funds to order my equipment. The check was sent as an E Check and I was told it to mobile deposit it into my account. Once my check was released I was urged to transfer the money to cash app or Apple Pay. I only use cash app. Once I did that they told me to purchase bitcoin with the funds. This is when my husband stopped me and said it was a scam because bitcoin can’t be traced. I hadn’t purchased bitcoins before. We checked out account and noticed the check they told me to deposit had been returned. When I reached out to request to speak with someone they didn’t respond. When I called, they hung up on me. I assumed this was a legitimate job. So when they asked for my personal information I didn’t hesitate to provide it.

Scammer posted a job on Indeed.com and replied saying the job was no longer open however had a different position available as a personal assistant. Scammer asked a bunch of questions via email like someone would during an interview making this seem like a real job offer. Scammer would be traveling often and would be emailing assignments. Scammer sent a check from client for $2485.21 and asked me to deposit into my account. First assignment was to make travel arrangements but the costs of flight didn't cover costs I wasn't comfortable covering costs so then scammer claimed the organizers of event would pay instead. Scammer proceeded to ask for a withdrawal of funds and make donation in their name to Kiwanis Village Center. Email instructions sent me to Bitcoin machine with QR code to deposit the money for donation. Less than 5 hours later that original check amount was taken out of my account. They stole over $2,400 USD.

I saw a job on Indeed.com from Swift Shipping & Logistics LLC and the title of the position was Shipment Verifier. So I applied, got a phone call, called them 540-360-9638 or 540-358-9640. They sent an email to me about the job for additional information. I gave them the information on my driver's license. I called ScamPulse.com to report this as a scam.
