I applied for a job thru indeed with Currance Inc. as a remote medical biller. I was contacted by Robert Anderson from email [email protected]. We communicated three times when I was offered the job. He instructed me to send my name, address and phone number to email [email protected], which I communicated with four times when they sent me what they called an official offer with an employer/employee contract to sign and return with the front and back of my ID. I was then contacted by Darryl the hiring manager, by text from phone# 845-953-0896 with instructions on moving forward...they needed my bank name and how my name appeared on my checking account so that a check could by issued to purchase the equipment needed to setup my home office. Then they emailed a check for $4995.00 to endorse and deposit by mobile app. and requested a picture of the deposit confirmation. Fortunately, my bank rejected the deposit at which time he requested a copy of the issued check. Then the manager suggested I used another trusted sources' account, preferably a family member. Instead I call the bank noted on the check and was advised the check was no good. I both emailed hr@currancecareers and text 845-953-0896 that the check was no good....needless to say, there has been no further contact. But, my checking acct# was on the back of the check. I'm not sure how or what they did, but I had to change my sign-on info at my bank. The message from the bank was that my info had been posted to a web-site by another web-site. HA HA HA HA! to them, I purposely gave them a bank account# with no activity and no money! Stay DILIGENT PEOPLE, BAD PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!

Wonolo company on Indeed.com. Ghost jobs, lost hours, debit card for payment can’t be canceled!

- Saint Louis, MO, USA • Dec 04, 2024

This scammer used Clarkston United Methodist Church as their front for a remote data entry specialist job posting. They told me they would be sending me funds to order my equipment. The check was sent as an E Check and I was told it to mobile deposit it into my account. Once my check was released I was urged to transfer the money to cash app or Apple Pay. I only use cash app. Once I did that they told me to purchase bitcoin with the funds. This is when my husband stopped me and said it was a scam because bitcoin can’t be traced. I hadn’t purchased bitcoins before. We checked out account and noticed the check they told me to deposit had been returned. When I reached out to request to speak with someone they didn’t respond. When I called, they hung up on me. I assumed this was a legitimate job. So when they asked for my personal information I didn’t hesitate to provide it.

Scammer posted a job on Indeed.com and replied saying the job was no longer open however had a different position available as a personal assistant. Scammer asked a bunch of questions via email like someone would during an interview making this seem like a real job offer. Scammer would be traveling often and would be emailing assignments. Scammer sent a check from client for $2485.21 and asked me to deposit into my account. First assignment was to make travel arrangements but the costs of flight didn't cover costs I wasn't comfortable covering costs so then scammer claimed the organizers of event would pay instead. Scammer proceeded to ask for a withdrawal of funds and make donation in their name to Kiwanis Village Center. Email instructions sent me to Bitcoin machine with QR code to deposit the money for donation. Less than 5 hours later that original check amount was taken out of my account. They stole over $2,400 USD.

I saw a job on Indeed.com from Swift Shipping & Logistics LLC and the title of the position was Shipment Verifier. So I applied, got a phone call, called them 540-360-9638 or 540-358-9640. They sent an email to me about the job for additional information. I gave them the information on my driver's license. I called ScamPulse.com to report this as a scam.

This company uses deceptive business procedures. They “hired” me with the agreement I would get 700 dollars a week and gas reimbursement. Plus commissions on sales. I told the hiring manager I could not work the second Saturday and maybe I should start later. Micheal Creasy the company owner assured me it was fine to start now and I would receive the full above compensation. He collected my information including my social security number. I worked the full two weeks excluding the Saturday he agreed to. Then I was fired. I was only paid twenty dollars via cashapp for gas and received zero compensation for the hours worked or two sales made. When I asked for my just compensation he made excuses about me missing half a day and since I suggested I would report this to ScamPulse.com he said he would pay me zero dollars. I since contacted two other “employees “ who said they worked for him and also received zero compensation. The job is described as w-2 employee and 700 a week compensation. Even if he doesn’t remember granting me a Saturday I was and am entitled to compensation for working for this fraudulent company. They represent working for Nuvision auto glass but I have no way of knowing if this is a legitimate business arrangement. I can only say I was promised wages and worked and did not receive pay.

Applied as a online chat agent through indeed, sent my resume, and the next day received a text that read "Thanks for your interest in Remote Live Chat/Admin Assistant. $29/hr. Download signal from Google Play/App store or by visiting signal.org. Add Interview Manager JAMES SPRINGER on 6314929538 for interview NOW!"

Asking me to install an app along with the urgency of the text was suspicious, so I googled 'JAMES SPRINGER 6314929538' and it led me here.

I got an email from this woman telling me to contact another woman named Kathleen telling me she wanted to schedule an interview with me for the admin job I applied for. I responded to the email, stoked that I had heard from someone after weeks of nothing.

The email I had gotten responded to was this:

"Dear Hannah,

Job listing asked me very extensive information about my identity and then afterward sent me a direct message informing me i would have to lift 150 pounds on the job.

- Birmingham, AL, USA • Jul 22, 2024

They had me send over resume and cover letter to consider why I am a good candidate for the position. With all my personal contact information. Then sent me an email two days later saying do I accept the job offer as a CSR/ Data entry with managing, organizing and scheduling different supplies, events and travel. With a pay of 25 a hour. They said I needed certain software to be able to secure my hours worked and scheduling for data entry position. That said they will pay for equipment because it has to be a Mac book and will send a check through mail or direct deposit with secure bank.

Money laundering/employment overpayment scam.

- San Jose, CA, USA • Jun 30, 2024

Applied through the online job search website called Indeed. The company was posing as AT&T, the listing stated as being a listing from AT&T for an account associate. I received a text message the next day from (747) 316-3394 stating once again that they were from AT&T and were contacting me in regards to the account associate position and were looking to schedule an interview. In the message they also included a second number to contact if I had any additional questions (408) 637-4962. I scheduled the meeting through zoom and continued to say they were from AT&T. The same afternoon they messaged me again saying they wanted to move me to the second phase of interviews with a different manager but this time in the message they stated they were from Tidal Management not AT&T. I looked up the company and saw reviews from other people stating a similar story saying they were impersonating Verizon to get you to submit applications with them.
