I went online to request a replacement passport. I found myself on the website, which I believed to belong to the passport agency. I filled out a form that included my information, my photo, my SSN, my email and phone number, my parents' names, dates of birth, location of birth. I paid $187.87, which I believed to be the passport renewal fee. I received the completed form with the printed photos and was advised to make an appointment with the post office to file the papers.

I searched how to order a passport online and this site came up. It seemed legit but I am obviously pretty naive. I gave all of my daughter's personal information...SS#, address, etc. and paid 187.00 with a credit card.

I am preparing for foreign travel and had to apply for a new passport. I started using usapassports.com for an expedited passport instead of using a State Department website. I filled out information online including my SSN and birthdate and paid a fee of $236.47, thinking I was applying for a passport through the site. Instead, I received a FedEx mailer with the application printed out and the digital picture attached. I went to my passport appointment with the USPS and learned that this company scams people to print out their application form, which is something that can be done online for free through the State Department.

They are pretending to be the real official government passport website and took all my personal information and made me over pay so much money for the whole thing to be fake and now I’m out $400 because I had to go through the whole process of getting an actual new passport at the post office on top of what I had already gave this website.

This website looks just like official government website. For me it was first time I applied for mine and my wife's passports. They make it look like they will take care of everything. I just need all our information removed and my money refunded for below listed orders!

I provided sensitive information on this website thinking that I was providing information to obtain a US passport. Unfortunately, it was the first link that popped up when I used google.com to search for "How to apply for a US passport." I did not provide a credit card number, so I was not charged, but I am concerned about the site selling my information or using it for nefarious purposes. I'm wondering if anyone else has fallen for this site. I have taken the precaution of signing up for identity/credit protection.

Need to renew passport. Googled and got this website. Guess they advertise? Thanks, Google. :-(

Anyway, paid for it. It seemed like a lot. Searched for what it was supposed to cost and found website telling me there's only one place where you can get passports renewed, which was NOT the one I had used, sadly. Now I gotta figure out how to make sure they don't do scary things with the personal information I gave them. :-(

I thought I was getting a passport and after calling the US POSTAL service, they told me I got scammed out of my 183.00 and now they have all my personal information.
