Said to cash check and buy a pre paid card and to send them photos of the front and back of card and return a 1000 and I'd keep 380. If I did it in 2 hours I'd get an extra 300. I was to do a secret evaluation on the service I received. This was all to be completed through text messages.

I received a text from someone named " David Bedford" about being a secret shopper for Whole Foods. Though suspicious, I did not notice any typos in the initial text and the link did take me to what appeared to be the Whole Foods site. I did not give vital information but did give my address (out of curiosity.)

I received a "check" from Chevron Federal Credit Union for $1,925.00 (that is clearly not a legitimate check) with directions on how I need to deposit it within 24 hours, go to several specific drug stores and buy gift cards. Then they instructed me to take pictures of the gift cards ( front and back)and send them the pictures.

Of course, I did not do anything they asked. Of course...this is a scam.

I keep receiving texts about why I have not cashed the check yet.

Ready to call the police.

I got the same thing as what was just mentioned above. Secret shopper for Whole Foods. I received a fake cashier's check in the mail for 1950.52 and instructions to purchase 3 $500 Nike gift cards. Take a photo and send via text to the number that signed me up. Of course, scratch off the pin/activation number and send this too. The instruction letter was bogus as all the "t"s were replaced with "$"signs. Why would a grocery store want me to be a secret shopper to purchase Nike gift cards. Total scam.

Received an email to inquire if I was interested in a customer survey for whole. You fill out the request to participate, providing name, address and phone number. (So stupid of me). But I thought, Whole Foods" must be legit. I was texted that I was chosen! I received a USPS envelope with instructions to purchase Nike gift cards, 500x3, scratch the silver area and capture the image. Wow! Plus they send a bogus check to me for 1950.0 and don't forget the 52 cents! Garbage

Received a USPS Priority Mail Package containing a $945.52 cashiers check from State Employee's Credit Union 00238 Raleigh - Strickland Road and Remitter is Ashley A Wood. Inside the express mail package is a photocopied list of instructions for the Whole Foods Market Customer Service Evaluation Tool (CSET) stating $500 worth of Nike Gift Cards are to be purchased while evaluating check out. Then, scratch the back and photograph the cards with the identifying numbers. Email completed report to [email protected] and text (346) 306-9340. Regards from Christopher Michael.

Received a mail package with a letter and a cashiers check for $1950 in my name. The letter instructed me to deposit check.... then go to any store from a list they provide and purchase 3x$500 nike gift cards, scratching off the silver scratch off area, taking pictures of back+front of card and sending them pictures of the cards...as welll as information on the experience with the clerk. Also received a text from "Alexander Smith" from a phone number 346-266-5410 telling me that i should have received a package in the mail.....which I did. Not sure how he got my number and address.

I received a letter of instruction along with a $1977.00 cashiers check from supposedly Navy Credit Union in Merrifield, VA. I was instructed to deposit the check to my bank on same day i received it and complete the assignment of purchasing 500 dollar American Express Gift cards and sending photos of the cards front and back and sending to the number above. I was to keep $477 for my pay and receive a $200 bonus if i completed the task within 2 days time.
