After renewing my DOT number for my company, I received a text message informing me of additional compliance requirements that I needed to do by a certain date or I was at risk of being fined $2500.00 and/or losing my DOT number. I followed through with three action items, before I realized that something felt wrong. I am new to DOT compliance and am still learning the compliance requirements. This company preyed on my naivety and continued sending me texts messages. When I contacted the company expressing my knowledge that I did not actually need the items they were selling, as I had already completed those requirements with another company, they told me that they weren't able to refund all of the charges because an account had already been activated. I contacted my bank and disputed the charges. Still waiting for refunds.

Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

DOT filing scammer. They send a threatening email making it look like they are the government sending you a letter regarding your expired FMCSA registration. However, it is a private company attempting to get a high amount of money to file that information. They use a dc-based phone number, fake email address, and a official-looking format. Only one time is their name mentioned and it's in small print at the bottom.
