I was contacted by a Government Agency out of DC. I was told I was awarded a Government grant in the amount of $9,000. Caller gave me Pin#/Code, GS110, to give to the person who answers the phone (202-649-0627) I was to call. I called & spoke to Kelly Watson, who asked for my pin# . Kelly Watson stated that Federal Reserve Bank in NY has a check in the amount of $9,000 for me; I do not have to pay back. She told me to go to 7-ll, get money card for $250 so I may receive the check . She stated she would be on the phone with me this whole time. until I get the $9,000 PLUS the $250 back . I realized this was a scam & I hung Up.

I received a call today from 202-524-1882. A man with an accent told me the government was giving a $9000 grant which I didn't have to pay back. It's a one time offer. He said I'd been a good citizen and I hadn't filed bankruptcy. I hang up on him. The calls have been going on for 3 weeks.

$9000 grant offered. Fernando Henderson. 202-930-1381, ext 741. He gave me an approval code AB121 and that I should call them back. They said I should pay them $100 and they would pay me back when I got the grant. He said the grant would not affect my benefits. He told me to go to Walmart and do a money transfer. He had a weak accent, maybe Spanish. I do not take his calls.

- Baltimore, MD, USA

I received three calls yesterday from this number 202.400.2000. The man stated I was receiving a grant from the government for $9,000. I asked him specifically what branch of the government and he asked me the verify my personal information. He kept pressing me to verify my information and I kept pushing for his info, which of course he could not provide. Interestingly, my husband and mother received the very same call, along with 4 of my friends. Everyone thus far has confirmed the same phone number but given the number of people in my circle I think that this may be an issue.

Thanks ,

First call was to confirm address and phone number then to tell me I’ve been chosen for a government grant of $14,000 and they want to know how I would like to receive it then they give me a phone number of someplace in Washington state called the branch office to receive the funds they kept calling me over and over and over over a period of weeks I gave them no further information and called them back numerous times to tell them just quit calling me at which point They started cussing and I cuss back. Everyone on every call was of some Indian dissent

Received phone call and told that I was chosen for a 9000 dollar grant from the American Recovery and Reconsiliation Act and I could pick it up at a Money Gram store for 200 Dollars and it would be given back to me. The guys name was Anthony Young and a telephone # of (202) 780-7599 but the first number was from (202)868-7578 with a young lady with a accent calling. I was told to call back once I made it to Wal- Green on Mastin Lake Road. I did not take the bait.

Brother was contacted by phone told won a gov. grant given ID number and phone # to call where given choice of bank account or money gram to receive money but they had thick accent and did not know who they were calling. Accent with english name was red flag and not knowing who they were contacting another red flag. Big red flag was they stated money coming from bank called federal reserve.

Told me that I was randomly selected to receive a one time grant for $9000 and I could receive it through money gram if I paid a $300 activation thing to get the money tax-free and that’s all I know is that phone number that they gave me

They will not stop calling even when you ask them to take your number off their list. They state you can have this Government Grant for free just because your number came up randomly.

- Columbus, OH, USA

caller requested my credit card information because I had to pay $249 to get my money.

I received a call from (646) 968-0570.

The woman spoke broken English stated that I had qualified for a grant of $9,200 which according to her I would not have to pay back. She stated that I was randomly selected because I am a law abiding citizen who pays my taxes and has never been bankrupt. I was very suspicious so I did not give any personal information. When she asked me for my name, I than asked her who she worked for and she stated that she worked for the government.

She gave me a confirmation number and told me to call 202- 656- 6270 and a man would walk me through the steps of getting me the grant via western union. In suspicion I looked up recent scans and came across the same story. i did not call the second number. pretty sure they were gonna ask me for money.

Someone called and got my mother to send over 1000 dollars in 100 dollar iTunes cards and he promised her 50,000 in federal grant money. He tricked her into giving all her banking information and I need to know who to report this to and what I need to do now. I told him I was reporting him and he said I know I did wrong please don't report me and I will leave her alone.

I got a call Tuesday, saying I won a $9000 Grant. They wanted to take me through the process, go to drug store and get a Steam card, like a pre-paid card. They put the grant money on that card. When you get to Walgreens, call them back for further instructions. Brandon Cove, x. 1027. They asked if I was single or married, and if I lived alone.
