Emily emailed us with the same thing:

I hope you’re doing well. I would like to arrange sessions for my daughters and would appreciate it if you could share your availability. Thank you!

...

Thank you for getting back to me. I thought about calling to discuss this, but I want you to know that I’m currently in a private medical center, recovering from lung cancer. Unfortunately, I can’t make any calls right now since I’m on full bed rest. I’d appreciate it if we could communicate here. I’d like to schedule sessions for my five daughters, who are currently on vacation, as a surprise gift for their return. Since I want to keep it a surprise, I’m making the arrangements on their behalf. They do not have insurance, and I will be covering the cost of their sessions. I would really appreciate your help in booking these appointments, as I’m not very tech-savvy. I’d like the sessions to begin on May 13th or 14th, preferably at 11 AM. Please let me know if those dates and times are available. My daughters are between the ages of 18 and 26. Additionally, kindly provide me with the total cost for ten sessions (two sessions per daughter) I look forward to your response.

Warmly,
Emily

I'm currently "playing" her to see what else she (they) is willing to do. I replied with:

Hi Emily,
Thank you for sharing that with us. We are so glad to hear you are recovering and wish you the very best during this difficult time.
We would be happy to accommodate all five of your daughters on either May 13th or May 14th at 11:00 AM. Please note that we must start promptly at 11:00 AM to ensure there is enough time to see everyone. Please provide each person's full name to book them. Someone will need to complete an intake form for each of them beforehand.
Regarding payment, our policy requires that all services for such an arrangement be prepaid and cleared at least three days before the appointments can be officially reserved. I can send you a secure link from our system to prepay the total for all ten sessions. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can pay for the first five sessions (one for each daughter) now, and then pay for the subsequent sessions later.
Please keep in mind that regardless of which option you choose, payment must be fully cleared at least three days prior to the appointments, or they will be automatically cancelled by our system.
Please let us know how you would like to proceed, and we will send the payment link. Thanks!
Best regards

she emailed our business (assisted stretching studio) about booking stretches for her 5 daughters a few weeks from now. i blocked out the times for her and let her know the pricing - she wanted 10 sessions, 2 for each daughter. she was in a medical facility so couldn't talk otp and told me she could only send me a check, didn't have a way of paying through an online link. she told me her assistant accidentally made a check for $8240 instead of $824 and it was already on the way so she couldn't stop it. i said we would figure it out. in her most recent email she was giving me a lot of compliments and then mentioned something about we would have to do a wire transfer to her assistant? that was the red flag that i was like that's weird. my fiance thankfully read the email and told me to look her up immediately! i hope this helps anyone else out!

- Dunn, NC, USA

I own a spa and spas are commonly targeted in overpayment schemes. The person via text indicated that they wanted to book "my service" for multiple people which raised the red flag as they didn't specify a service and usually services aren't booked for multiple people through text. I also received an email stating the same.

I pretty much has my suspicion that this was a scammer, but upon engaging by text he or she revealed additional red flags (being very specific about one date and time several weeks away, not being able to discuss by phone due to some convoluted medical issue). I wasn't surprised at all to find other scams associated with this number.
