We were called by someone saying our visa account was charged 250 dollars for our support contract by visa. If we wanted to cancel this support we were to call a given #. I didn't write down the number because we paid for our support in February and it was not 250 dollars. I should have written down the number and I will if they call again but just wanted to notify you this was happening.

02/04/2020, 12:48pm, Tuesday There was a voicemail left and a phone number to call back, 682 243-2456. I called back and and a man very forcefully told me they were going to take $400.00 from my bank account. I yelled in response if they took any money from my account, they would be sued and I would take them to court. I demanded to know who they were now and what they thought they were going to do it for. He replied they are The Geek Squad and I had a yearly contract due bill and my computer was going to crash. I told him I did not have an account or bill with them and never had. I again forcefully and loudly told him I would sue him and did he understand? He said, "Yes," but he continued to press that he was able to take the money from my bank account and crash my computer. I continued to yell into the phone; I would sue them and take them to court about three more times and he hung up on me. A report has been filed with the local police and my bank has been notified.

Caller demanded payment for Teck support if Ididn't call and cancel the service I never requested or they claimed they would take it out of my account.

They called at 7am leaving a message that there is going to be an automatic withdrawl from my account of $99.00 unless if I call back and cancel my subscription. I returned the call they claimed they were with Geek Squad and said I needed to be on my computer in order to cancel the account. I was on the computer for 15 minutes following his instructions with some hesitation in my mind. Then all of a sudden there was a different guy on the phone, I asked where did the guy that I was just talking to go? He replied he had another phone call so he was going to finish helping me. That seemed like a huge red flag. I hung up, all of a sudden my phone started ringing off the hook, they called me 16 times from 3 different numbers and I didn't answer any of them. They sent me a message on my computer to call back and that is when I closed out everything that they had me doing on my computer. I then called ScamPulse.com to check the phone #'s and they couldn't locate any of them. I then called our local Geek Squad store and talked to an associate about what was going on and they tried to look up an account for me and said that I wasn't even in their system. He said that they would never call in person it would be correspondence either through email or mail. Told me to watch if I was charged or anything in my bank account.

Representative called 4 times to say I am getting a refund of $229 from their bankrupt company. I haven’t used Geek Squad in 5 years. They wanted me to go on my computer to fill out a “ secured form” in order to process. They wanted me to go online while they were still on the phone! They said they only needed the name of my Bank! I told them I was reporting them. They said please go to the BBB. You will see we are in excellent standing! Please alert others to not fall for this insidious scam! I did not.

They called claiming to be from Best Buy Geek Squad and said if I don't cancel my membership, I will be charged $299.00 that would automatically be deducted from my checking account. I have not done any business with Best Buy for many, many years and never signed up for any type of service with them. When I called from a different number, they used the same scam, not even knowing who they were talking to. one man actually told me to shut up, which of course, I did not!

Geek Squad - Daniel Martin these people been hounding me about tech support I don't even use. They call me on numbers that are unavailable, sometimes offer refunds trying to get access to my computer. They pretend to be Microsoft, I have Microsoft protection out of Texas. They are now trying to collect $1000 dollars for a ten year contract. they say I can cancel immediately I must give them $136.00 for a cancellation fee trying to get access to my banking information NO WAY

Computer repair services said he would refund annual fee: refunded $2000 over refund amount and asked me to send funds back through my bank debit card.

- Clayton, OH, USA

Received email at 10:48 am on 8/27/2019. Called phone # on email (attached). Auto voice said Geek Tech Support I wanted was not available and to leave a message. I left message saying I did not order or want what they were selling, and I wanted to know what account they had charged it to. I also told them if I did not hear from them by 12 noon I would report them to BBB. I tried emailing them at the email address on their email (even though it said "no-reply"). At 11:01am I received call from number listed on email, but when I answered there was only a dial tone. I called back at 11:04 am. Man said they would cancel the order but I would have to be transferred to their billing department and they would take access to my computer to do that. I said, "No way you're getting access to my computer!" The man then said he would cancel the order. I then asked for his name and a confirmation number. The next thing I heard was a busy signal or a dial tone. I also received an mail from [email protected] saying they were unable to deliver email. I have checked my credit cards and banks. It seems as though nothing has been charged to me as yet.

- Deltona, FL, USA

A phone call from some foreign man saying they was from geek squad.

Said my computer was sending signals to their computer and tried to get me to sit behind my son's computer (even though I said that it wasn't in my name),. asking for me to type what they say and that it wouldn't take long.

I said we are busy and he kept insisting that it was for real and the computer needed something.

I finally talked him into calling back on Tuesday just to hang up the phone.

- Greenville, SC, USA

Consumer said that she received a phone call from The Geek Squad saying that the Better Business Bureau told the Geek Squad to reimburse them money owed. The Geek Squad told the consumer they just needed her bank account information so they could deposit the money to her. Consumer hung up the phone on the scammer.

These people call and told my father that his computer has been compromised and got my 75 yr old father to turn on his computer and put in his credit card number. told him they were going to put a antivirus on the computer to help people not to be able to see his accounts. They call an average of 10 times a day. I have ask them not to call back and have been cussed out and called names.

- Kennewick, WA, USA

Received a voice mail indicating they were going to debit my account. When I returned the call they indicated they were with Geek Squad but had been recently bought out. I indicated I had not used Geek Squad and had not given permission for any payments. I tried to cancel and he indicated he could not provide the information due to buy out.

Got a call from an 'Unavailable' number. When I clicked 1 to learn about a supposed refund due to me, I got connected to a noisy boiler room, by the sound of it. Speaker had a fairly strong accent, but claimed to be representing the Geek Squad about some service they did on my computer last August. He directed me to download a program (app, in his parlance) named AnyDesk.exe. When I pressured him to give me more validation or a number I could call back, he tried to make me feel bad that I wouldn't take the refund and that they (whoever they are) would be delighted to keep the money. Claimed that ScamPulse.com was knowledgeable about them as a means to try to get me to proceed, but, when I continued to pressure him, he finally told me he was going to hang up and keep my $300 (which I never spent, as I seldom have used Best Buy or the Geek Squad). I have no record in my accounting program of an amount spent at either Geek Squad or Best Buy in the time frame he used.

A message from a robot cut off on my answering machine, but left the same number to call as was on my caller ID. 888-254-2999.

I was screening and called the number back immediately. The man who answered identified himself as being with Geek Squad. I asked what the message was since it cut off. He said he needed to look up the information and only got my first name. He said 2 years ago when I purchased a computer I signed up for Geek Squad for $299. This call is to refund that amount since the services offered were inconvenient. Then he told me to go to this computer and logon. I cut him off and said I'm not doing that. He said that was the only way. I told him I will call Geek Squad myself and hung up.

Called to say my cc would be charged if I do not cancel . Stated I needed to give my numbers so I would be credited back my money of $299.00. I told them I did not sign up for anything, they said yes in 2017 @ best buy. They wanted to reimburse my money & needed info.

Calls repeatedly several times per day every day to the week since before March 2019.Today, Indian accent man calls and I picked up. He had me turn on my computer and type in the run box www.fast......com. For over one hour he tried to gain access to my computer, because I had told him to cancel the service. He acted like he had to send me a credit form over the Internet to my computer for me to fill out in order to get it done. My computer did not work each time I followed his direction. He put 3 more men on phone like he was transferring to his supervisor and 1 woman. All had Indian accents. Finally, he asks for my name, bank name, and weather or not I had a Platinum member credit card. I told him my name, bank name, and yes, I had a Platinum member card. My computer would still not do what they wanted. Then, he went through nd trying to get more information about me to send me forms through mail. He told me he was going to have to send me a money order for 2000 dollars for me to get 399 dollars.

I was to take money order to my bank, cash check, take out my 399 dollars and then send rest of the money back to them. I was fed up with this mess, told him to send every form that they needed to me through the mail and hung up on them! They then used 781.......number to call me back around 6 times, when I would not answer phone. When I continued not to answer phone, they started using 442...... number two times before they stopped calling me! I went on Internet and discovered this was most likely a scam call. Have not had anymore calls tonight! I have not lost any money yet!

I received an e-mail, supposedly from Geek Squad, stating that my computer support contract with them had expired and that they would deduct $753 from my account. They also stated that if my account is not active or has changed, they have the last 4 digits of my social security number and would use that to procure the funds from my current account. I have never had a computer support contract with this company and never will. I called the phone number provided and spoke with an unidentified woman who said I had an account and to pay the money. She did not ask me for any identifying information, so how would she know if I had a contract or not? I reported this to the ScamPulse.com and was advised that the e-mail is a scan and to report it to ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker.

- Union Grove, AL, USA

I received a call from a strange number. The person asked how I was doing. The person had a foreign accent. He asked me to turn on my computer, then I asked him who he was with. He said the Geeksquad. I have never done business with Geeksquad so I hung up.
