Had to call my credit card company and freeze my account. BEWARE SCAM!

I was contacted by e-mail : They tried to say I had arranged this 5 years ago and tried to get me to go to my computer. I got suspicious and threatened to report them to the ScamPulse.com and they hung up.

Received e-mail that I was being charged an annual fee in excess of what was normally charged. His name was Shane Harper, sounded not like that name. Middle East or India. Phone # he used was 213-419-2567. He said he could refund more than we were charged since we were such good customer. Wanted me to verify that refund went threw, but our bank system said was down for maintenance so he will call back tomorrow to continue. Something didn’t sound right after call so checked my cards and NO charge on any of them!! Oh the billing Dept # we got was1 888-898-8723.

I received a email saying my account was going to be charged $399.99, Well I do not have a account so I called and it sounded like there were people taking in the background. He asked me to log into my computer-I told him that I do not have a computer. With that he hung up on me. I hit the redial button by accident and hung up. Next thing is I get a incoming call and he said his name is Michael and he can help me, I just need to get on my computer! Same scenario, he too hangs up

I received a phone call saying that Geek Squad at Best Buy was going to auto renew my virus protection on my computer for a $400 fee. They then asked me to go to Zoho Assist on my browser to start the virus software renewal process. I pushed them for the verification of Geek Squad and asked to speak to a manager. I was transferred to someone but nobody could actually tell me the software that was going to be updated. I argued with the man for about 5 more minutes and then they hung up.

I got a email from geek experts([email protected]) though when I called the number (1 855 643 3311) all I got w[censored]d music, then when I hung up someone called me and claimed they were geek squad suppourt answering my call(515 385 6822) who when I told them The person they were trying to bill had passed on so I was trying to cancel the auto renewal for a security system that I had never heard of before, They told me I would receive a call from there subscription department(325 313 0994) He then explained that the auto renewal had been in place for 3 years despite the fact that the email showed it being activated almost 2 weeks after said person had died, and then they wanted to connect the computer to there network so that I could fill out a form and get my money back. I never got billed for this, the estate was not billed and when they said connect my computer to there network I told them they were scammers and hung up.

I recieved a call from 312-300-2824. They left a vm stating they had charged my account and left the same number they called with to return the call and get a refund. I called back.I told them I had no idea who they were. They said they were with Geek Squad. So, I stupidly gave them access to my computer remotely and my bank account. Luckily, I checked my mobile app and saw nothing of what he was telling me. He became irate. I said a few choice words and hung up. There was so much more to it, but that's the main story. I had to change my bank access ID and password, and perform a factory reset on my PC. They almost got me to give them $3500.00 out of my account. I don't know what I was thinking!!

I got an email from Geek Logic LLC. They said they were going to charge my account for a security software security package for two years. They asked me to call this number: 956-294-2980 or 954-314-5224. I called them and provided them with banking information. They said they were going to take $319.00. They haven't taken anything yet, and I have called my bank. I will have to close all my accounts and reopen new ones.

I have received a phone call Monday from a local number.

The guy said they have some amount to be refunded due to service closed by Geek Squad.

They asked me to join into teamviewer.com and submit clime using some online form in order to get refund which we refused.

He said his id is "patric369" and connect me to GeekSquad once I submit the form. I have refused to do so and hang up.

I Have Gotten 4 Calls From 885-744-6257, 566-749-0808, 267-406-4269, All Claiming To Be Geek Squad, I Ask To Speak To There Supervisor And They Hung Up

My security had expired. They were going to take $1000 out of my account. They were going to give me a refund. In order to get the refund I had to let them into my phone or computer. I hung up on them.

They referred themselves as Geek Squad and wanted my checking account number to give me a refund. He asked me to add the connection support App to connect to my phone remotely, then a Cash App. The amount was never taken out of my account 3 years ago. I verified and confirmed with my Bank. When I told him I needed his number he gave me a bogus number and kept pressing and demanding me to enter my checking account information. I told him I need to verify and he got meaner and kept demanding. That’s when o got suspicious, It got to the point I told him I’m going to call the Police. then he yelled profanity at me. I hanged up.

Email came 5/1/20 to update my monthly service plan. Became suspicious because although I have an account it is not monthly and I know when the billing cycle comes up. It also asked me to update my credit card info. I called Geek Squad and was told this is a scam email. It does look similar but no coverage info on your service is provided which Geek Squad always provides and I am aware of that amount each year. I copied the email heading and details :Update to avoid plan interruption.

Received a call stating that $299 was being withdrawn from my account to renew a Geek Squad account. I didn't want that, so called to tell them. They said they needed to process a refund. They had me complete a form online and took over my computer. They attempted to close out my bank account, but I contacted the bank and stopped it.

- Rockford, MI, USA

I received an e-mail from Geek Squads Billing that said it was a reminder for service auto renewal. It gave me a order ID# 675fd91RD, a product name of Network Security. They said it was a new Network Security update and it was ready for installation and as per their contact with me their plan will auto renew and it will auto debit $399. This is towards the extension of service period for 36 months support. Then they said it I have any queries regarding this subscription to call their Network Support Team and gave me a number starting with area code 806.

I called Geek Squad right away using the phone number on Best Buy web site which is not the number listed in the e-mail. They did not show anything about an update on my account and there was not any outstanding charges and nothing for $399.
