- Cleveland, OH, USA

Cruise line saying she lost her head set and are you there? Trying to get me to say yes- and talking about a free trip to Bahamas

Other line was call from a. Ale saying at&t and looking for Vic Protowski - and followed by a bunch of questions like is this his number, do u know him, is this how you correctly spell the last name?

- Hammondsville, OH, USA

Stated the phone call would be recorded, was a Cruise Line. Asked "Can you hear me?" I immediately said loudly "NO!" Thank goodness I had seen a news report a few days earlier about this. Scariest thing about this is that Caller ID showed it as a local number.

A lady says she has trouble with her headset when you say hello and she doesn't respond right away, making you say "yes?" When she repeats her greeting. I replied with a "yesssss?" Before I realized it may be a scam and hung up on the caller.

I believe my mother has been a victim of scam. She is elderly and asked me for help. She told me that the following phone number:913-416-5237, had been calling her over and over. When she finally answered, she was not sure what is was about because she is not fluent in English, but she was asked for some information. She obviously called me and said to call that number for her and ask what it was about. I called and they said they were a cruise line and that we were entitled to a cruise. Right away I knew it was a scam because I worked for Moneygram International and I learned all about fraud and scams and even prevented a few. Therefore I hung up the call, called my mother and told her about it and I also told her not to answer those calls because they are either fraud or scams.

I believe this is that new "response scam" throughout the call they talked of a a cruise line, then proceeded to tell me if I could hear them, i said i was not interested and I hung up.

You get a call from a local area code, a lady who is actually a recording asks "can you hear me?" If you answer yes they use that recording of your voice to authorize payments and bill you. The recording asked a few yes or no questions which were all yes answers (questions like are you over 18, does your household have an annual income over 40k, do you use a major credit card or debit card?) to get a few different versions of your yes answer. My recording was someone who said she worked for a cruise line, then they say they will transfer you over to someone from sales.

"Can you hear me" scam. Didn't identify herself prior to asking if I can hear her and said she was having problems with her headset. Once I stated I could hear her, (by saying yes) she proceeded to tell me how I won a cruise. I then hung up.

- Garden Grove, CA, USA

The woman has trouble with her headset. She asks "can you hear me." Talks about a resort and being eligible for a cruise/resort stay in Florida and if I'd like to be transfer to another person to talk about the prize.

- Pierre Part, LA, USA
