On 10/16/17 I received three missed calls from a local number (916-384-1807). The caller left no voicemail so I figured it was a scam. The day after, I received a missed call from 916-384-9773. When the number called a second time, I picked up since I was expecting a call the day before. When i picked up the phone, the "person" introduced himself as Brian form a cruise line company. Then the phone cut out and then he says "can you hear me?" After a 15 second pause, it reluctantly said "yes" then the call ended. It was at the same moment I realized it was a scam and reported it to the FTC and now BBB. I am currently monitoring my assets to see if any unauthorized translations occurs.

I was called today and asked if i could hear the person. i said yes and she proceeded to say that i won $200. Worth of merchandise at Walmart, told her not interested and hung up.
It was lady that sounded like Barbie. She said oh wait let me put my head set on and then started going into a schpill about me staying at a resort in the past. The lady would not stop talking so i hung up. My cousin got the call 2 times that day and she said it was a recording. She hung up both times. This is what made me feel like it was a scam.
I think it was one of those phone scams where they try to get you to say "yes", which I unintentionally fell for as the person says "Oh, hello", are you there at the beginning of the call.

Women calling saying her headset isnt working and if you can hear her. Also asks if it is okay to transfer it you to next person for a special deal on vacations. Many reports of this number with same headset problems. Had to change all banking and credit card info. (Just happened so unsure if I will lose money on this or not)
The phone number called saying that they were a cruise line and asked if they could hear me. I heard about the "can you hear me scam?" a few weeks ago and I thought this might have something to do with it.

Claimed to be having a problem with her headset and asked if I could hear her and I stupidly answered yes. Realized it was a recording designed to get affirmative answers. Please followup with a way to combat this terrorism.
