Can You Hear Me Reports & Reviews (313)

- Greensboro, NC, USA

I answered my cell phone although I was not familiar with the number. A male voice started, saying I had been preselected for something or other. I got mad, and was wanting to tell him off for calling, and then he (I do think it was a prerecorded voice) said, "Can you hear me okay?" And before I could think, I said "Yes." Even though I'd heard about this scam. I wasn't expecting there to be an intro, I thought it was a different type of scam. I started fussing at him, and the voice kept talking, which is when I figured out it was a scam, and I hung up the phone. At that point I realized I'd said "Yes" and now I'm terrified and not sure what to do. News articles aren't being very helpful.

Caller claims to be Allison from the Warranty Department. She asks, "Can you hear me alright?" I have experienced this scam from multiple phone numbers over the past several months. I continue to block the numbers on my home phone and to report them here. I hang up after her first question. I answer the phone because it appears to be a local number.

Then he started with, "you have just won a vacation package...." I don't know what else he said after that because I told him "no thanks" and hung up.

This is one of those "can you hear me" scams. Unfortunately, I said yes and knew immediately that I'd made a huge mistake. I like to get info on who calls me because I then report them to the do not call registry, which my phone number is on. I haven't lost any money yet but I'll be on the lookout.

- Cincinnati, OH, USA

We have been receiving calls on and off for about a month or two. Today (3-7-17) I received a call from 513-452-5050 Harrison, OH at 10:53a.m.  I answered the phone because I just had gotten off the phone and was expecting a call, and when I answered the guy (he sounded local-no accent) said something and then he said "Can you hear me?" and I said "yes" and the phone clicked right away after that. I looked the number up on reverse number it said some other things, and it said something about maybe out of the country and there were a lot of warnings on that number if you do reverse.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I received a call last week on my landline. I was just coming in the door. The phone number on my caller ID was 216-413-3808. I answered the phone. At first the call did not sound like a recording. Did not give a company name. A woman stated my warranty was about to expire. I'm trying to remember the details. I said hello hello and they were still talking. That's when I realized it was a robocall. She asked can you hear me. Something like that. I answered yes. I believe the call then disconnected.
