Received what I thought was going to be a work call from a phone number I didn’t recognize. I picked up and the caller said “Hello.” I responded saying “Hello,” to which they said “Can you hear me?” I answered saying “Yes, I can” and they proceeded to immediately hang up. I believe this was apart of the “Say Yes” scam that has been going around.

Posed as an alarm company, asked if I was the homeowner, then disconnected the call

I picked up the call and said "Hello". They responded with "Is this (my first and last name)? I'm from Global (something) Solutions". I believe I then said "it is", but may have said "yes". They asked again, "Is this (my first and last name)?". And I asked "What's this about?" and they ended the call. The call was 30 seconds long.

I forget what they claimed was the full name of the company.

I called the number thinking it was linked to EXXON MOBILE. the phone menu said that I qualified for a Medical Alert Device. "Jessica" asked "can you hear me alright?" I responded with "ya" and gave my name and company before I realized it wasnt Exxon. hung up as soon as I realized they said it is a scam.

I received a number from my doctors office and entered it wrong in my phone. I think I heard a recording after they heard the "Can you hear me?" and I said "Yes" I hung up directly after because I remember there were scams going on about this

Called me on cell phone and said that I called her. Waiting for me to say "yes" on the phone.

I received a phone call and said "hello." I said 'hello' again, and then the person said "Can you hear me?" and I replied 'Yeah', and then they hung up!

A live person called me on the phone and asked me, "Can you hear me?" I said, "Yes, I can hear you."

As soon as I said that, it went to an automated message claiming to be from Chase credit card. The message stated I was eligible for special rates and to please wait on the line. I hung up at this point because I remember reading about a phone scam to record people saying yes.

The call resembled a ‘yes’. They confirmed my name and were asking about credit enrollment

Caller reached out to get me to say “yes”. I realized this after i just saw this scam on tv today. I don’t know if it has effected my banking yet, im looking into it.

Call for one word scamming.

Tried for a “yes” - failed

Wanted a “ok” - succeeded

Gave without thinking

Not sure at this time if any target or loss

- Franklin, WI, USA

The number called and immediately asked "Can you hear me?" multiple times. I did not respond and realized it must be the  "can you hear me" scam where they try to convince the individual called to say "yes" so they can record the voice and authorize illegal purchases.

- San Ramon, CA, USA

I got a phone call which was saying Hi and can you hear me and as soon as I said yes, it said I can’t hear you, call you Later and ended the call, at the end of the conversation, I noticed the voice was a recorded voice.

- Hightstown, NJ, USA

The person said "Can you hear me?" I said "Yes who is this?" and then they hung up.

- De Pere, WI, USA

Caller asked if I could hear her and I stupidly answered "yes". Although I was aware of this scam I was distracted at the time and did not think fast enough to just hand up.

- Pittsburgh, PA, USA

I was called and asked "Can you hear me" - the number was not marked as scam. In a rush I replied yes. Later they said they'll call back. I realized this as a scam and hung up. They may have my voice recording.

- Cherry Hill, NJ, USA

The scammer called and asked if i could hear them. I said yes and they immediately hung up and i was routed to a Chase bank call. I immediately hung up.

- Mukwonago, WI, USA

Called late at night and asked can you hear me. I never responded.

Person called. Said his name was Jason. Honestly, I couldn't tell if it was a robocall or an actual person. He said the company name but very quickly and immediately after he said "Can you hear me okay?" Then there was static of some sort which made it difficult to hear him (perhaps to make me believe that this was legit and I should stay on the phone). He mumbled something again but I hung up.

Received a call that read potential spam but with a Falls Church number. In a very fuzzy connection, the caller said my name as a question. I said “yes,” and then the call ended.
