Lately I have been receiving numerous phone messages from different numbers with an automated message from Amazon regarding possible fraud on my account.

Scammer called my grandmother, his name was Thomas. She spent an hour on the phone with him. He was trying to obtain her bank information for an order he alleged she placed. These folks should be in jail preying on the elderly like this, he wouldn't take no for an answer. She finally called me and i got his phone number and called him and he hung up on me. Below is a screen shot of the email they sent her saying she ordered a washer and dryer.

I have received two calls from someone named Amazon. I don't answer them and they just leave a message. They are saying they want to confirm a package I ordered before charging $499 to my bank account. I don't even own a computer. I called the ScamPulse.com and let them know and they confirmed it was a Scam too.

Stating they are from Amazon and that a $707 charge has been added to your account. I do not have an amazon account. I just hung up but they keep calling back.

This is an automated call from “Tom” from Amazon.

He states, You have made a purchase of $349.99 on our Visa card. If you have made this purchase and recognize it, then simply hang up and the order will be delivered to you. However, if you have not made any such transaction you can all Amazon support right away at:

With each phone call to us they gave a different number of Amazon support. The following are this three numbers:

5622865244

This appears to be a local number, so I answered the call. It was an automated call saying, “This is Amazon. We are calling to inform you that your subscription is up for renewal, and you will be charged $129 to your credit card. If you have any questions about your account Press1.” I hung up and went and checked, my membership is not up for renewal.

I got a call from Amazon saying my account would be charged $799. I said I didn't order anything and don't have anything to do with Amazon. He told me to go to my computer and he would tell me how to cancel. I said my computer is down. He said he would call back tomorrow.

We called the number (listed above) and were transferred to a site in Mumbai, India. The agent attempted to get us to download some software but by now it sounded suspicious so we terminated the call after he requested 4 Walmart gift cards in the amount of $200.00 each.

I received a call from “Amazon” about a purchase for $500 and change (near $600) and that I needed to “Approve” or “Disapprove” by dialing a digit on the phone. I heard about this scam last summer, so I hung up. I then “Googled” the information to make sure my memory was correct. Found a news story with a link to Amazon which linked to this website to report the scam. So I am here doing so.

Claimed to be Amazon, that a possible fraudulent order occurred on my account by a bad choppy automated voice autodialer. Wanted me to “approve” or “deny” the order. Luckily I heard about this scam months ago and just hung up the phone...googled to refresh my memory about the scam and an article included a link to report this scam here.

- Lewis Center, OH, USA

I got a call from Amazon saying I would be charged $700 for a product I ordered. I told them they had reached the BBB, and he hung up.

- Lima, OH, USA

Voice mail from Amazon asking me to verify a purchase made through my Amazon card. I tried to check Amazon online and mistakenly clicked a pop up offering technical assistance. My computer was hacked. I now have a new computer which is not connected to the internet.

I got a package from Amazon with a Chinese return address. I have ordered from Amazon before, and had them delivered, but this came without my ordering anything. Amazonprime keeps trying to get me to re-up with them. We have told them no multiple times. When I opened the package that came recently, there were seeds in the package. All of the information they have on us is correct. The description of the contents says "headwear."

I answered a scam call on my landline from Amazon today. Normally I do not answer. I think it was a recording. The phone number in my caller ID was similar to mine. The call came from 419-468-9352. I called the number back and of course it is not a working number. It said something about confirming a $400 membership with Amazon. I did not listen to the entire message. When I heard that I hung up. We don't use Amazon.

Stating the was a purchase on my account for an iphone. For $900 thinking it was fraudulent charge. Press 1 to report 2 to confirm.

Started receiving phone messages on our land line regarding a $729 transaction from Dayton, Ohio on my Amazon account. Message lasts about 11 seconds, is a recording and starts mid message. I am instructed to press 1 to speak to a representative. I have listed just the 4 most recent numbers received within the last hours. Number always changes. Received about 4 of these messages late last week as well but did not document. All are the same message today, the previous calls were for a couple different amounts. I don’t even have an Amazon account. I do not answer this line, all calls go to the answering machine. I just want these annoying calls to stop.

They're calling every 10 minutes...from my area code recorded message saying my Amazon account has a fraudulent charge of between $400-$700 is pending. I hang up, and bock the number, but they call back from different phone numbers...

- Corpus Christi, TX, USA

The caller wanted access to my bank account to give me credit for an unstoppable charge for $499.00 from Amazon. John Wilson wanted remote access to my computer after I logged in to my bank account. Quick Access App to be used.
