I keep getting calls from various numbers with my area code (614) claiming to be calling from Amazon about a dispute on my account. I hang up and haven't pressed 1 to talk to a representative but I'm guessing if I did they would try to get my cc info. My husband has also been getting calls.

- Charleston, IL, USA

Went to Amazon app and it alerted me there was fraud onmy account. Called phone number and was told to verify identity to wire 1,000. wired it and it was supposed to be returned to my acct within 30 minutes but it hasn't been and it's been hours and now no one answers the phone numbers. Google'd phone numbers and they match scam calls.

- Chicago, IL, USA

I have received several calls from an automated voice stating that someone has used my Amazon account to purchase $600 worth of iphones. The voice tells you to press 1 to speak to someone. I hang up each time. I have contacted Amazon directly to have my account reviewed and no such purchase exists and they confirmed they would not contact me in this manner.

- New Orleans, LA, USA

Received an automated phone call from ###-###-#### asking me to call ###-###-#### regading a fraudlent purchase on my amazon account for over $300.00. A person at giving his name as David at ###-###-#### said that I would need to download a patch to repair my amazon account and be credited the $300.00 plus charge to my visa card. I told him that I didn't have a visa card. He said. "Oh, your mastercard." He directed me to type in something I don't remember and an app appeared on my computer. He told me to click on the app so that it could clear up my amazon account. When I clicked on the app, he had access to my computer and started typing on it. I told him that I had not given him permission to access my computer. He said that he wasn't accessing my computer, the app was. I asked to speak with a manager. I man giving his name as Alex W******* came on the phone and said that they were not accessing my computer. I told him that my son is a tech with the government at which time they hung up.

I deleted the app, cleaned my computer and degraged it. I then called Amazon who said that no fraudulent charges had been charged to my account. He then directed me to go to my programs and look for the app. I didn't know the name. But, I did notice a notification in the bottom right corner of my computer saying that Imperius Remote had accessed my computer. I looked for that program/app in my computer and didn't find it. I have not had any file deletions nor problems with my computer since.

This call was placed to me on 2/4/2021 @ 1:13pm.

Caller said a charge was going to be charged to my account, to dispute it call the number.

I called the number back and a foreign talking man wanted me to go to my computer and put in Amaznsupport.us and this would fix my problem. This is a scam. He also wanted me to look at his associates proving that he did work for Amazon. His name was Alan Condin. He was verry rude.

Caller spoke with my wife about a $4,000 order he said we made. We didn't. My wife told her we don't have an Amazon account. Caller said it appears someone in New York placed the order. My wife told her we don't know anyone in NY.

When you hit one, it is connected to a person answering, this is Amazon how can I help? I stated that my account was going to be charged and we did not make this purchase. The person said, I understand , in order to research, we need the card on file, starting with the full name and account information. Needless to say, I just hung up. - Fayetteville, NC, USA

Message said from Amazon and there was an issue with my Visa. I don't have a Visa. Amazon said it was a scam.

- Topeka, KS, USA

Caller (robotic female voice) purported to be from Amazon.

Stated I had been charged $299 for an unidentified object - item number 7073.

Stated to press 1 if I had purchased or to hang up and call back at 850-409-7359.

I hung up and checked my Amazon account.

There are no public phone numbers available and their item numbers are about 15 digits long.

Additionally, I had no items for the amount stated.

I believe the $299 was high enough for many people to be concerned enough to call.

I also believe the phone number to call back was different to thwart *69

- Killeen, TX, USA

I have received phone calls from different numbers stating that I have an Amazon Prime account and will take money from checking account

- Parachute, CO, USA

I was told there was suspicious activity on my account(I do not have an amazon account). They said I was going to be refunded $1400 but they couldn't direct deposit the money because I told them my account is overdrawn. I was told they were sending me a check but they couldn't send a check for less than $3000. They wanted me to go to Walmart and purchase 3 walmart cards for $500 each. They said it was for the difference between my refund and the amount of the check. I didn't give them any personal information except my email address and I did not purchase any walmart cards.
