- Clarksville, IN, USA

Text stated that there was a $499.99 charge on my Amazon account. Call Amazon. Call support for a refund. The number I called was 1 844 394 4755. The other number call came from was 503726 62890. Caller has an India accent .was asked to verify name address , card number. I was put on hold 3 or 4 times while he was checking info. He came back telling me my devices have been hacked someone had passwords and other info. Then he told me there a few other purchases as well as an iPhone setup , then $1000.00 . Some of the charges were made in Miami, Ohio. I was transferred to an upper level investigator who was threatening, stern and intimidating. He wanted me to go purchase gift cards from Home Depot to send numbers to him in order to receive the refund back. By then I was scammed and did not wish to speak to him any longer. I told I will another number he said I would be referred back him he has my file. I told him I will not buy gift cards, he Is have to pay all the charges they they mentioned

I received a call stating that $400 was going to be charged to my amazon gift card if I did not pay this bill. I hung up.

I get several calls a week from different numbers claiming that there is a problem with my Amazon account. Why can't the phone companies help control all these nuisance calls?

- Rolling Meadows, IL, USA

email received for Amazon order I did not place.

Email had no info of shipping address, as there was no response on "view or manage" link. Email listed amazon.com / customer service "executives" number 1-800-549-1501 and suspect that would be scammers way of getting personal info from a victim. Reference order no. ****** for ******* Valentines Ring that would be delivered Tuesday, March 2.

Checked my order history from our Amazon Prime website and no order ****** listed, and order number seems to be improper, compared to other legit orders placed before.

Also received phone call on 2-24-21 warning me about suspicious phone call warning about ******* Amazon order.

- Saint Augustine, FL, USA

Received a phone message stating that a $1500 purchase has been made with my account and they need to verify the purchase before the item can be shipped

- Sylvania, OH, USA

Multiple calls from different numbers, but with the same recording. Indicated there was a charge of $700+ on my Amazon account and should press 1 to dispute the charge from Dayton, Ohio.

I did not click anything, so did not lose anything.

- Corpus Christi, TX, USA

I received a call from a purported Amazon security specialist referencing a suspicious $700.00 purchase on my Amazon account. She identified herself as Gloria Castoren. She then e-mailed me some credentials to verify her legitimacy. After receiving those, she advised me to go the app store and download the Any Desk app, and then the Cash app. Using those apps we went through a series of transactions where money was sent and returned. She then advised me to enter a Pin# that actually was a dollar amount. That amount was removed from my account, the person suddenly hung up. E-mails that were sent were erased remotely. This occurred on Sunday, Feb. 21st. I received another call on Monday the 22nd from the same number repeating the initial $700. purchase.

I got a call from Amazon saying there was a bill for a purchase. I don't have an amazon account. They hung up on me.

I received an email that was a purchase receipt for a $770.00 ipad on my amazon account. The person who apparently purchased it was a man in New Jersey. It was on a prior amazon account that I do not use anymore, that should have alerted me. I clicked on the link and was speaking to a man named Alex Martin at Amazon Support. Extension AMZ110. I was informed that my identity was stolen by purchases made in Ohio PA,CA, Russia, Canada and New Mexico. Several were major like 6,000.00, 900.and several more. They were using my cell phone to obtain my internet connections to steal my identity and open credit cards in my name. They were going to help me not to have to pay these amounts. He needed to know the last four digits of the cards I used so they wouldn't cancel the cards that were truly my cards. I gave him the card numbers I used, but then asked him that I was afraid he might be a scammer himself. He sent me a one time code from Amazon that I had to give him to prove he was supposedly valid. He then told me that Amazon and Target are partners and to go to my nearest Amazon or Target Store and this would start the process of cancelling the fraudulent cards. He asked me to go asap like the same day. I was told when I got there to call him at his direct line # 206-479-3212. I would then get the blocking cards that would block the purchases I hadn't made. After hanging up I thought Target doesn't do this, it sounded stupid. I also then checked my amazon account purchases and this I- pad for 770.00 wasn't on my account. I then called and cancelled every credit card numbers I had given him. Hopefully he didn't charge my credit cards before they were blocked. I don't know yet.
