Amazon Reports & Reviews – Page 26 (949)

I received a call from Amazon stating that my account had $7215.28 in purchases and I needed to pay this. They had my social security, address and phone # but didn't have my credit card information. I hung up and called Amazon and my bank and they had no such charge.

I got a call from Amazon saying my account would be charged $799, and to press one if I didn't want to pay it.

I get a call for Amazon. They said someone is purchasing an I Phone on my account. I have an account. They scammed me. Had me to go to my cell phone and download these apps. I did that and I noticed that they were taking money out of my account. I called my bank to get it stopped. They would not let me power off my cell phone. I tried everything and had to take it to Verizon to get is shut off. They ended up taking $400 out of my account. They scammed me.

I was called by 713 894 7604 and told that someone had tried to use my account. I closed my account long ago because of someone trying to use my account and never reopened. it. I looked at my account and saw 200.00 had been put on my checking account.

I told the girl that I don't even have an account. She told me they were planniing on putting 875.00 on my account and that I must call this number 908 341 9778 and that they would take it off my account.

This number the girl called Christine and later Susan said that they would send a form in the computer and I must fill it out.

This had the amount, my phone numbers and address and Name...

I did what they said and then they told me that I had made a mistake and it came through as 9200.00 I have 800 credit score and am not a liar and cheat.

The bank told to change all my accounts as the had asked for me to do something on my computer and I believe they knew how to get into my computer. I never gave the password or anything.

THey said there system would make my computer more safe.

They also gave me this number 800 3000 9009 which I told them seemed odd with 8 number.

I am so upset as I will end it here but they moved some of the money from one account to the checking and when I went to the bank they closed all the accounts.

I hope I give someone the idea to not trust anything anymore.

I received a robocall from Amazon informing me that my account had been compromised.  I pressed "1" to speak with someone. I then spoke with "Keri" ("ID #ANZ1020") from Amazon's Security Department. Keri convinced me to download the Zoho app to share my device. I did this. Then some error information popped up listing all of the threats to my Amazon account. He first tried to convince me to wire funds through CashApp...after first transferring funds from my bank account.  I tried this, but the attempt failed...several times ( $500, $500, then $100)...failed three times. Keri then tried to convince me to drive to Target and purchase a gift card. I then said "no", explained why, informed him that I would be contacting Amazon, my family and my bank. He grew frustrated. I then ended that call, notified my bank, Amazon and a family member. I uninstalled Zoho, deactivated CashApp and installed malware on my device.

I've been receiving packages from Amazon. Called Amazon, they said it's a brushing scam. I've received a cat scratcher and a beard kit. It's annoying and frightening.

- Monroe, LA, USA

I received an email that looks kind of legit from Amazon stating my Amazon account has been frozen due to unauthorized activity and that I need to click on the link provided, sign into my Amazon account, re-enter complete payment information, and billing address.

- Vacaville, CA, USA

They keep calling every 5 minutes with a different number but from my same area code and city prefix. They leave vm saying my Amazon account has a charge from Dayton Ohio and I need to speak to an Amazon customer service rep. Press 1 immediately

I received calls from the above numbers all in one day within the hour from “Molly” an automated system, from ‘Amazon’ stating there was a purchase of $700 from Akron OH on my card (I don’t have a credit card).

- Indianapolis, IN, USA

I received the following text

Amazon: Congratulations Diane, you came 2nd in March's Amazon Earpods raffle! Follow this link to arrange shipment: then it gave a link

I didn't reply as I knew it was a scam.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I was called by a person saying my Amazon account has been charged 399.00. To press 1 if I disputed this amount. I said nothing and hung up. I have received this call too many times. I answer because the phone numbers being used are ones I recognize..such as my dentist. Caller Id says names of people I recognize. I do not know why or how the scammers know that I will recognize these people. Worrisome.

Girl asked if I made a purchase in the last 24 hours $79 and change. I said no. She then asked for my name which I gave her. Then she said repeated my postal code (which I never gave to her)how did she know that??? She said OK what is your 1st four digits on your visa and I will credit your account. I told her the visas have all the same 1st four numbers and she should know that. She then hung up!!

I could hear a guy talking loudly in background on another call. Both had East Indian accents.

subject: ** - Your Order Notification

mailed-by: ** signed-by: ** The message was from a fake Amazon advising of a computer order from me, encouraging me to press a yellow button if I had any questions with the order. Also had a place for me to click to uninscribe. I assume both actions would have been a trap for me. See the file attached for a copy of the email. I looked at it, but I did not respond to it. I do have an account with Amazon using the email dress it was sent to, but I rarely use it, and not lately. I usually use an Amazon account under a different email address.

I received a phone call today from someone pretending to be from (Amazon) informing me that my identity had been compromised by someone who was trying to purchase an IPHONE 12 for $699. They instructed me to go to my computer and they would assist me. I told them that I was at work and could not access a computer. I asked for a return phone number even though caller ID listed one. Basically, they insisted they could call me back when I got off of work. I told them Saturday would be better for me. Afterwards, I checked the ScamPulse.com website and found similar incidents. I will BLOCK their phone numbers.

I was called by a robocall telling me my Amazon account had a charge of $299 from a Columbia access and if I wanted to confirm or deny the charge I was to press 1. I pressed 1 and was sent to a man with a Hindu accent who told me I needed to download and install the "quicksupport" app (the full app title is "TeamViewer Quick Support"). The Google Play description just says "it's never been easier to troubleshoot devices." I installed the app and when I checked the app's description, I found it would allow my phone to be remotely controlled and I immediately uninstalled it.

I did not look to see if there were any "safeguards" as to who could controll my phone. I didn't need to. I will allow NO ONE but myself to access my phone except a reputable company like Best Buy or Consumer Cellular.

- Harlingen, TX, USA

I received a phone call for each of the above phone numbers claiming to be from Amazon. Each had a recorded message saying a charge in the amount of $734.00 was made to my Amazon account from Dayton Ohio. If I wanted to dispute the charge to press one. When you press one they try and get your personal info. None was given.

Said there was fraudulent activity on my account
