Amazon Reports & Reviews – Page 26 (942)

- Monroe, LA, USA

I received an email that looks kind of legit from Amazon stating my Amazon account has been frozen due to unauthorized activity and that I need to click on the link provided, sign into my Amazon account, re-enter complete payment information, and billing address.

- Vacaville, CA, USA

They keep calling every 5 minutes with a different number but from my same area code and city prefix. They leave vm saying my Amazon account has a charge from Dayton Ohio and I need to speak to an Amazon customer service rep. Press 1 immediately

I received calls from the above numbers all in one day within the hour from “Molly” an automated system, from ‘Amazon’ stating there was a purchase of $700 from Akron OH on my card (I don’t have a credit card).

- Indianapolis, IN, USA

I received the following text

Amazon: Congratulations Diane, you came 2nd in March's Amazon Earpods raffle! Follow this link to arrange shipment: then it gave a link

I didn't reply as I knew it was a scam.

- Lafayette, LA, USA

I received a phone call today from someone pretending to be from (Amazon) informing me that my identity had been compromised by someone who was trying to purchase an IPHONE 12 for $699. They instructed me to go to my computer and they would assist me. I told them that I was at work and could not access a computer. I asked for a return phone number even though caller ID listed one. Basically, they insisted they could call me back when I got off of work. I told them Saturday would be better for me. Afterwards, I checked the ScamPulse.com website and found similar incidents. I will BLOCK their phone numbers.

subject: ** - Your Order Notification

mailed-by: ** signed-by: ** The message was from a fake Amazon advising of a computer order from me, encouraging me to press a yellow button if I had any questions with the order. Also had a place for me to click to uninscribe. I assume both actions would have been a trap for me. See the file attached for a copy of the email. I looked at it, but I did not respond to it. I do have an account with Amazon using the email dress it was sent to, but I rarely use it, and not lately. I usually use an Amazon account under a different email address.

Girl asked if I made a purchase in the last 24 hours $79 and change. I said no. She then asked for my name which I gave her. Then she said repeated my postal code (which I never gave to her)how did she know that??? She said OK what is your 1st four digits on your visa and I will credit your account. I told her the visas have all the same 1st four numbers and she should know that. She then hung up!!

I could hear a guy talking loudly in background on another call. Both had East Indian accents.

- Harlingen, TX, USA

I received a phone call for each of the above phone numbers claiming to be from Amazon. Each had a recorded message saying a charge in the amount of $734.00 was made to my Amazon account from Dayton Ohio. If I wanted to dispute the charge to press one. When you press one they try and get your personal info. None was given.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I was called by a person saying my Amazon account has been charged 399.00. To press 1 if I disputed this amount. I said nothing and hung up. I have received this call too many times. I answer because the phone numbers being used are ones I recognize..such as my dentist. Caller Id says names of people I recognize. I do not know why or how the scammers know that I will recognize these people. Worrisome.

- Scottsboro, AL, USA

I was called by a robocall telling me my Amazon account had a charge of $299 from a Columbia access and if I wanted to confirm or deny the charge I was to press 1. I pressed 1 and was sent to a man with a Hindu accent who told me I needed to download and install the "quicksupport" app (the full app title is "TeamViewer Quick Support"). The Google Play description just says "it's never been easier to troubleshoot devices." I installed the app and when I checked the app's description, I found it would allow my phone to be remotely controlled and I immediately uninstalled it.

I did not look to see if there were any "safeguards" as to who could controll my phone. I didn't need to. I will allow NO ONE but myself to access my phone except a reputable company like Best Buy or Consumer Cellular.

Said there was fraudulent activity on my account

- Louisville, KY, USA

Received an email stating it is an order from Amazon for a 86 inch Smart TV For $4,108.69 and a credit of 3,100.69 applied and a payment pending of $1098.69; dipped to an address I do not recognize. Then ask you to call a 1-800 number if it is not you to talk to fraud department or if you have questions. I have not ordered nothing from Amazon and they addressed me using my full name; Warning for the public. Thank you.

- Saint Paul, MN, USA

Tells me my Amazon account has been compromised in Dayton, OH for $729.53.

- Clarksville, IN, USA

Text stated that there was a $499.99 charge on my Amazon account. Call Amazon. Call support for a refund. The number I called was 1 844 394 4755. The other number call came from was 503726 62890. Caller has an India accent .was asked to verify name address , card number. I was put on hold 3 or 4 times while he was checking info. He came back telling me my devices have been hacked someone had passwords and other info. Then he told me there a few other purchases as well as an iPhone setup , then $1000.00 . Some of the charges were made in Miami, Ohio. I was transferred to an upper level investigator who was threatening, stern and intimidating. He wanted me to go purchase gift cards from Home Depot to send numbers to him in order to receive the refund back. By then I was scammed and did not wish to speak to him any longer. I told I will another number he said I would be referred back him he has my file. I told him I will not buy gift cards, he Is have to pay all the charges they they mentioned

I received a call stating that $400 was going to be charged to my amazon gift card if I did not pay this bill. I hung up.

I get several calls a week from different numbers claiming that there is a problem with my Amazon account. Why can't the phone companies help control all these nuisance calls?

- Rolling Meadows, IL, USA

email received for Amazon order I did not place.

Email had no info of shipping address, as there was no response on "view or manage" link. Email listed amazon.com / customer service "executives" number 1-800-549-1501 and suspect that would be scammers way of getting personal info from a victim. Reference order no. ****** for ******* Valentines Ring that would be delivered Tuesday, March 2.

Checked my order history from our Amazon Prime website and no order ****** listed, and order number seems to be improper, compared to other legit orders placed before.

Also received phone call on 2-24-21 warning me about suspicious phone call warning about ******* Amazon order.
