I have received several of these Amazon March pods raffle notifications. Wasn't totally sure it was a scam at first because they used my first name ("Congratulations [my name],...) But, I knew I had not entered any raffles on Amazon and I had not seen it advertised on their website, so this made me suspicious. Remember, if they are running a raffle of any sort, they're gonna advertise it!

They said I placed 1st place in a raffle by amazon for free Airpods.

The text message said “Amazon: Congratulations Michelle, you came in 2nd in March's Amazon pods raffle! Click the link to : v5fsr.info/WrIrfImxLY” and I’ve received multiple of these texts in the last week.

I received a call from 612-682-3837 stating that it was Amazon support and someone was attempting to put through charges for gift cards n my account. When I called the number back, and brought up my Amazon acct (I have no payments attached to the account) I could not see that any orders/charges had been made but they insisted someone was trying to use my account to get Amazon gift cards. Because I had not authorized payment attached to my account I am not worried but wanted to report this. Thank you!

Received a text message that said the following:

Amazon: Congratulations (my name), you came in 2nd in March’s Amazon pods raffle! Click the link to : (then a link)

I answered a call from Amazon. They were informing me of a $499 charge on my Amazon account. Wanted me to contact them. I hung up. I don't have an Amazon account. I did not want to get involved. I do not have their phone number.

Got a text from "amazon" claiming I won a sweepstakes. I did not respond or click the link but it seemed fishy so I figured I would report it to BBB.

This is the 4th or 5th text I’ve received in the last week. All different numbers. I block one and another text me.

Call leaving voicemail that they are alerting you of a charge that is going through for $1,099 for delivery to Tennessee (not my state) unless you call immediately. Says they are Amazon

I spoke with 2 men, who said their names were David Amman (ID DA12369) and Matt Donovan. I called them based on an email I got yesterday that said I should expect a delivery of 2 items, priced at $300 and $500, and a phone number to call if I disputed this order. There was no mention of Amazon in the email until I called the number. They had my Amazon order history for the past few months and the last 4 digits of 2 credit cards that I had saved on my Amazon account. They were trying to send me another store (Walgreens, Kroger, Walmart, etc.) to purchase a Dispute Card to stop some online loan application that they said was on my account. I talked to the first man's supervisor and he gave me the same song and dance. He wanted me to stay on the line while I drove to buy this card so he could then give me further instructions. I hung up, he called me back and I did not answer. I called Amazon to report this they checked my account, and there were no charges such as this on it. I called both of my credit card companies, the AARP fraud line, sent a digital report to the FTC, and now to you. I hope you can catch these guys with the information I have provided here. I think I was one of the lucky ones.
