I was given an order number and told I purchased $400 worth of product on Amazon. I knew this was untrue so I did not answer the phone.

I got an email from "amazon" saying that the laptops that I ordered were supposed to be delivered today. I didn't order laptops. They asked for my banking information. They said the laptops were paid in full.

This individual called via an automated service and stated my amazon account was used to purchase an iphone 11. It said if I did not make this purchace, to select 1. This was very similar to when my bank has detcted fraudlent charges on my account. I was then transfered to a man who spoke broken english and kept saying "they" had hacked into my personal information and I needed to provide it to him so he could connect to my server and determine how much data was taken. He was rather hostile when I aksed questions.

Robo call about an iPhone 10 purchase on Amazon. Press 1 to confirm. Did not press anything. Hung up. This is a real person's actual phone number according to online. They may be trying to scam or their phone number was spoofed to scam.

- Hartsville, SC, USA

I got a call saying there was a suspicious charge on my amazon card for an IPHONE @ 14 hundred dollars. They wanted to help me cancel the card. Having been warned about these type scams, I asked which card # and then hung up after seeing no charges on my online account. They seemed legit so I'm sure many other elders may fall for this scam. BE CAREFUL

Received an email stating that he was the CEO of Amazon & that he believed in giving while living & should use your wealth to help people. He said he had decided to give $1.500,000.00 to 29 US scam victims & I should count myself lucky. & wanted me to contact him at my earliest convenience so he would know that my number is still mine.

I got an email saying that I had an Amazon order for a Samsung TV. They said it was shipped to the wrong address. I called the number on the email and they wanted me to go to Albertsons and call them when I get to the parking lot.

Automated call saying a charge was placed on my Amazon account. Then prompted me to press “1” to speak with someone about the charge

I got a message that I purchased a PS 4 which was being was being delivered in Texas. I don't have any family or friends there, and I don't have an amazon account. This is the second time I've had this happen. The first time they charged me $40.62; the second time $100.00. They are charging the account that I get my child support on through the state. I have notified the state. They asked for my birthdate and the first time they asked for my social. They also asked for my phone number and the last four number of the card that was used. It caused an overdraft on the account.

Lady with heavy Indian accent called claiming to be Amazon tech support stated that a hold has been placed on Amazon account and bank account for a purchase made of 999.99 and needed me to download an app through Play Store call TeamViewer quicksupport. I then went to Google and search for TeamViewer quicksupport and was alerted to the scams coming out of India so I accused the lady are running a scam and stated that she would be reported and she hung up on me. So we tried to call number back and got a pre- recorded this number is no longer in service message.

I got a call from this number twice on November 06, 2020. Stating that my card was hack. They claim there from Amazon.

I received a call from aman who said he was with Amazon. He said there was a possible fraudulent purchase for $120 in Ohio. An Amazon gift card purchase. I verified that I did not authorize the purchase. He asked me to download an app called Team Viewer Quick Support. He explained that it would connect me to Amazons secure servers. I found the app but it appeared to be a screen sharing app so I hung up. I checked my accounts and found no such charge.

I am probably not the only person contacted in the last two days but there is a phone scam taking place with Amazon. I received a phone call yesterday from 848-212-8840 CF MALCHIKZER and today from 323-567-5200 CARETEX. Basically the scam runs this way—recorded message stating that Amazon had charged my account $779.00. If you did not make this purchase press 1. Caught unaware and panicky I pressed 1 and was transferred to a person – supposedly an account rep. He had my name and phone number already. Wanted to know what I wanted, naively I told him that I was transferred to his number automatically.(bells should have gone off but didn't) He wanted to know what the problem was and of course I told him a charge that I didn’t make was going to go thru and charge my bank account. He said he needed additional info… did I use Amazon from my laptop or phone. Brain still in panic mode …laptop. Okay we will need to get more info about your computer… and he would then help me to cancel the order and prevent from happening again. But before he could issue me a refund of the $779 he would need my banking info…then my brain cleared and I stopped him in mid-sentence asking how he could refund $779 when my bank account never had $779 in it to begin with and I only shop on line with a gift card that I purchase for the exact amount of my order. He hung up. I called the number and it was not in service. I then blocked the number. This morning I got another call from CARETEX with the same recorded message.

Please let your people know about the scam. Holiday shopping time is beginning in earnest and many people might answer the phone in the midst of doing something else and not recognize it for what it was as I almost fell for it. If your payment method is not sufficient Amazon sends an email asking for a new method. I know this because I forgot to turn on my credit card once and my payment was declined for the purchase. Calmer I remembered this and he hung up. I guess they will constantly change their phone numbers but I will keep blocking their calls ??

I received an e-mail, supposedly from Amazon, stating that I had placed an order. The order number is #105-35282564-27047238. The e-mail stated that the order had shipped to a person in California. The order total is $404.00. I never placed this order. I did call the 1 888 number supplied. The person I talked to starting asking me questions, including was I currently on my computer. As soon as he said that, I became suspicious and terminated the phone call. I got on the Amazon site and checked "open orders" and there were none. This comment applies to the section below about who was scammed. As far as I know, I did not lose any money, and when I hung up I had not been asked for information.

I answered a call from phone number 983-005-8246. I wonder if it is a scam. Said it was Amazon. My credit card had been charged $799. If I wanted it delivered to hang up. If I did not order this press one. I did that. Nobody came on the line for their customer service. I attempted to call the number back. The call cannot be completed as dialed. I did report this to my bank. Ordinarily I do not answer calls.

They called pretending to be amazon and saying I owe $465.00 for some security bs. So hung up and called amaon myself and found out it was not true.

Automated message claiming to be from Amazon. Said there had been unusual activity on my account and that charges had already been made on my account and to push a keypad number to speak to someone about it. I just ended the call.

A message was on my phone from a caller with the phone #176-025-8401 saying to call 855-328-2411 that I owed $7.00 postage for something ordered. When I called the # he said it was a postage due for an Amazon order for the amount of $987.00. I told him that I was a Prime customer, and that is when he told me that my account was hacked. I was scared that he was a scam also so he gave me the EIN # to look up from Seattle WA to type in #911646860. When I did that, it did show that it was from Amazon. So I felt that someone has hacked my account. So he had me do some steps to get to the security server and that gave me the #'s 275 709 293 that brought me to a screen that would let them checked my account. That is when I got on my cell phone and called Cody's computer service that I have that checks my computer for scams at all times and that's when I was told that it was a scam, that Amazon would not ever call a customer. I got back on the phone and informed him that I thought it was a scam and he said that be aware that I would have the $987.00 on my Amazon bill.

On 10/26/2020 at approximately 2:30pm I attempted to log in to my Amazon account. The log in page did not appear suspicious in any way. I entered my email address as I normally do and when I attempted to enter my password I received a message that my Amazon account had been blocked due to a suspicious purchase on my account. The message provided me with the following number to call to have my Amazon account unblocked, (833)528-0900. I called the number and a man with a heavy foreign accent told me that at 2:00am on Monday evening someone attempted to purchase an iPhoneX on my account. He directed me to hold down two keys on my computer, the control key and the letter "r" key. I did this and then he directed me to enter a string of letters. After entering a few letters I became suspicious and hung up on him. My grown kids advised me to turn off my computer and change my Amazon email address and password. They said that this scammer was trying to get me to allow remote access to my computer. Afterward, I discovered that the number I called was not associated with Amazon customer service in any way. I was fortunate not to lose any money or allow remote access to my computer, however, I was frighteningly close to falling for this scam. Please be careful.
