Recording saying your account had unusual activity so we froze your account, to speak to an agent press 1. I just hung up. I went on line and check account. Everything was fine.

Amazon called me and said that I had several charges made through amazon. 1 was for a $1500 pair of shoes and for a $300 gift card. The next day they called and said that I had another $100 charge for a gift card that I did not purchase, I do not have an amazon account. I called back one of the numbers and I asked to speak for the supervisor and was told that they could not transfer me.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

see above. The e-mail looked like an official Amazon order for a Delores Marshall in Dallas. The phone number was displayed on the order. Since I didn't want to get charged for $800 for something I didn't order, I called the number. A man with a foreign accent told me that in order to not get charged for the order, I needed to close my paypal account. He had me install UltraViewer on my computer. When it came up with a screen showing the codes for remotely controlling my computer, I got suspicious when he kept asking for the code. When I told him that I thought this was a scam, and that I wouldn't give him the code, he hung up.

"Amazon" called me about 30 minutes ago. I did answer but did not speak to anyone. It was a message that stated to press 1 if I did not make a purchase. I called them back but phone number was not a working phone number.

- Gary, IN, USA

Person called impersonating an Amazon staff member stating that someone had attempted to purchase a new iPhone on my account and he will help me with reporting this transaction. He then instructed me to go to the Anydesk website and download their remote desk software and allow them access to my computer. At that point I realized something was "fishy" about the situation, so I ended the call.

Caller says a purchase has been made on my Amazon Prime Acct. for $402.00 for a gift card. They give me a series of option to press 1 - if I have a question, 2 - if I did purchase the gift card. I usually just hang up. I've been getting up to 5 calls a day from these people using different phone numbers, so it's impossible to block them all!

I received an email from what I thought was Amazon stating :order summary and order confirmation saying that my order of a mac pro lap top would arrive in 5 to 10 business days. Going to be shipped to a Barry M. Brenner at 17499 Demur Ln. Spring Hill New Port Richie, FL 34653. My email was set up just like an amazon web page, it had view and manage click on and when I clicked that on it came up exactly like the real page. It gave me an order number to refer to. The web page said if I had any questions to call this 800-730-9810 number. So I called. W2hen they answered the phone thank you for calling Amazon this (I can not remember his name) how can I help you. So I let him know that I did not order this item and got this, Don't worry ******* we will take care of it with a refund. I let him know that no money has come out of my account, he told me there is another amount charged and would give me the credit now so I didn't have to wait until it comes in. So he was giving me some numbers to put in my web browser at this point he took over my computer and was able to get all of my bank information. Had to call my bank and shut down my account. Also, I had you shut down my laptop so he would not get any new information. I am lucky I guess because I had a spare laptop to start using and no money came out of my account. Oh they asked for my birthdate and I told him I don't feel comfortable giving that out.

The male at (480) 501-2704 called me at 7:07 am this morning with a recorded message that my Amazon account had been used to purchase an IPhone 11 for $1,000 or something like that. I then dialed 2 to speak with him, where he claimed to work with Amazon, and hung up on me when I asked whether he was a scammer. Of course, there is no such transaction in my Amazon account. I called the number back twice; now a female answers, claiming to only speak Spanish.

I received an email that looked like it was from Amazon indicating something that I did not purchase was being mailed to an address of 517 Holden Street, Wilmington, DE and when I called the telephone # things just didn't seem right. I am not sure this is a scam but it seems suspicious since they had me log into a teamviewer.com account and download an app. They told me there were going to credit my bank account for a charge that was made. They had me log into my bank account and they knew exactly how much I had it in.

I told them several times I didn't fee comfortable with not being able to be assured it was Amazon I was speaking with. At this time I do not show that they hit my bank account but I need to know if this is a scam or legit.
