I am expecting a package to o be delivered, I got a text saying my delivery date has changed so I clicked the link and it was a" you have been chosen" Amazon scam.

My mother received an email regarding an Amazon order for an Xbox and tv totaling $6,500. The email said if it was not her who made this purchase to click on a link to call this number: 1-866-959-4744. When she called, a person who said their name was Ron explained that her Amazon account had been hacked and that these hackers had her credit card info as well as her son & daughters credit info. They told her that her credit info had been sold to multiple states and that she needed to buy gift cards so that she could help them catch the scammers. My mother drove to four different stores and purchased $6,000 worth of gift cards. The person on the phone referred to himself as Kevin Jones and told my mother that she needed to give him the PIN numbers on the gift cards. They sent her text messages saying that Amazon was refunding her credit cards while she was providing them with the gift card pins. After spending hours on the phone, my mother explained that she was tired and needed to go home. The scammer told her that she only needed two more gift cards to get the scammers, but that she could go home to rest and that they would contact her the following day. They have continued to call and text her multiple times a day for the past three days.

My mother received an email from what appeared to be Amazon.com confirming an order on her Amazon account for a television set, with a shipping location in another state. The email included a link to "View or Manage Order", as well as a phone number to call "if you did not place this order". My mother called the phone number (800-624-4898) to inquire about the order, as the logo of the email looked like it was from Amazon and that there was an unauthorized purchase on her account. She spoke with a man who had very broken English. This, combined with his pushy tone and requests for information, made her realize this was a scam and she hung up the phone before she gave any personal identifiable information; however, someone who has not been informed of what to look for could easily fall prey to this email scam. The body of the email contains several grammatical mistakes, but she did not notice these before calling the number to report the order.

Yesterday, I got a message on my Kindle that I needed to update my credit card in order to pay for something that I had bought and they had charged it to my old credit card and the request for payment had been rejected.

Quick history, the day previously I tried to get online ,with my bank account. I was blocked by what I thought was Microsoft who alleged that my laptop had been taken over. I in the midst of trying to straighten things out, I discovered that I was not talking to Microsoft, but rather a Spanish computer outfit that wanted to charge me nearly $700 to make my laptop okay again. That struck a nerve. Some years ago, I paid some pretty big bucks to what I thought was Garmin to ake my laptop okay again, and after giving them the money I discovered it was NOT Garmin, but rather some fly-by-night computernicks. So, I backed out of the order, and went to my bank of more than a decade to get a new debit card.

Today, I tried to call the number that Amazon gave me to call to update my debit card number. However, when I called the number that they gave me, a voice told me that the number I called was not operational and gave me another number instead. I have to admit I wondered about that--Amazon is a pretty tightly run ship. However, I called the number that they gave, and ended up talking to a Kevin Mall (Number AM-103781, (669) 350-0497) after I had changed my Debit card number. Kevin kept insisting that Amazon had suffered monetary damage from its relation with me, and set off some dummy tests, including a $25 payment on me. I told him I am retired and did not want to be charged that amount. He assured me that I would not be charged. Later, he was telling me that some scammers were using my data to do damage to Amazon. I told him that I was not being charged and flipped to my bank account to show him that I was not being charged, only to find out that my bank account had been charged with the $25 dollars that was not supposed to be charged to me. He panicked and said I would not be charged. I decided that something smelled and declined to participate further.

I want someone at Amazon to get in touch with me. I don't understand how they could give me a phone number to call and then tell me it was no longer in use when I called. I also don't know where I am with regard to updating my Debit card (Did it take or not?)

I received a text from Amazon. Security alert. $2499.99 for 55 inch TV. A person is trying to order a television on my Amazon account. I don't even have an Amazon account. Their phone numbers are 954-470-7424 and 888-381-6229. I called the phone number 888-381-6229. A man asked me if I live near CVS or Walmart. I told him no. He wanted me to get an Amazon card. He did not give an amount. He kept saying he worked for Amazon. He asked for my name address and email. I did not give it out. . He did not give an amount. He also asked for my Social Security number. I did not give it out. I said it has been red flagged. When I told him that he hung up. I knew it was a scam. I knew something was wrong when he hung up on me. I received the text twice. The first time I received the text I told my daughter. She told me it was a scam.

On the phone, they claim you have to hang up if you know about this charge. It could be $900.00 which of course you don't know about because they made it up. These scammers have called more than once over the last month. During this same month, I had heard about their scheme on the news. I appreciated the warning because the first time they left a long message I was very concerned.

I have received fifteen phone calls from Amazon in the last few days. They leave a message. I don't answer. Message states I owe $299.98. I don't buy anything from Amazon. Want me to call back. Their phone number is 380-219-1626. I did not call the phone number.

- Archer City, TX, USA

They told me that I had a 499.99 charge on my account. I called Amazon to verify and I do not have an order.

Received 13 robo calls that my Amazon account was hacked. First it was a message from Molly which said to press 1 to be connected to someone who would help. Caller said an order for $729.99 was placed to be delivered to Dayton, Ohio. Caller said he needed to connect to my Amazon account via computer or cell phone to delete the hackers. I know this is a scam because my 90 year old father was hacked and they got to his bank accounts. Very frustrating and sad situation.

Before clicking on anything in the email, in a new window, I opened the ScamPulse.com webpage (https://www.bbb.org) and searched for Amazon. It gave me the contact number 888-280-4331. I called this phone number where we discussed my Amazon accounts and confirmed that there is no such order through. They advised me not to click on anything in the email.

I did not click on the link or respond since Amazon ALWAYS emails me, never texts my phone. This must be a scam. My daughter got the same thing a month ago.

Received a local area call from someone who said they were an employee of Amazon saying someone was trying to access our account in attempts to buy an IPhone. They wanted to connect their computer to ours to initiate a refund for this purchase. The woman was persistent that it needed to be done immediately. We said Amazon has our email, and she could email us a link. No, that wouldn't work. We hung up, suspicious this was a scam. They never phoned back. We are reporting it here!

- Mililani, HI, USA

I received an email confirmation of shipment of TV and sound system. Shipping total $5200; credit of $4,700 and payment pending of $500.

I was suspicious since I did not order these 2 items. My amazon account did not show this order; nor did my financial company show any deductions of amount cited above.

Suspect a scam.
