Amina called to say there was something wrong with our amazon account. I thought it was a neighbor calling on her landline phone instead of her cell phone but it was a scam.

I received a call on my cell phone from Amazon. They attempted to tell me I have an account with them. They said I have purchased $1000 from Amazon. I did not. They told me to go to my computer. When I tell them I don't have a computer they hang up.. I do not have their phone number.

I received a call stating I had made a purchase of $399 and would be billed on my card. A number(above) was listed to report the charge if in error but when I called, it seemed fishy so I hing up and called BBB. I checked anthers were no such charges on my Amazon account.

Received a voicemail that a charge on my Amazon account was flagged as suspicious and given a number to call. My wife is out of state so I called. The person that answered was a male with an Indian accent. He told me a charge had been made to my Amazon account buying a gift card, I asked him where it was purchased, he said it was a gift card, I told him I know it’s a gift card, where was it purchased, after a pause he said California. ( While this was going on I looked at my bank info and no such purchase was made) I informed him I did not purchase a card and he told me he would reverse it. He asked me to go my computer and he would help me through the process. Knowing this was not right I said I was not home and could not do that, he told me to put the call on speaker and he would help me go to “pagetwo” ( that is how it sounded) several times. I asked him to explain what that was, what app, he said he would guide me through it. I told him I was not tech literate and only knew how to talk and txt, the noise in the background went silent, on hold I guess so I hung up. (I was the IT computer manager in my squadron and am a retired Air Force First Sergeant, I smell lies a mile away.)

I think Amazon is at it again. Last Saturday May 29th I received eight phone calls from Amazon. One right after another. The caller said my Amazon account was charged $729. I don't have an Amazon account. They wanted me to call back. I did not call back. They called from different numbers. I cannot give the phone numbers. I erased them.

- Wallingford, CT, USA

I was contacted by the number with an automated greeting stating they were Amazon calling to confirm a $765 purchase for an iPhone from my account. Prompted me to hit 1 if I did not make the purchase. At that point a live person (said his name was Kelvin) answered asked me for my name and told me in order to cancel I needed to go to amazon.com and type "anydesk" into the search engine. Then he wanted me to download "anydesk". I felt uncomfortable and asked why I had to do this to cancel an unauthorized order and he stated it was necessary to generate my cancellation number. I felt uncomfortable and asked for a number I could call back to. He provided one but when I said I would call back he kept informing me that I would not be able to cancel the order if I did not do it now. I hung up and checked my amazon account. I did not see any purchase. I contacted Amazon directly and they informed me it was a scam.

I received an e_mail telling me that there was a charge for a printer of $299. I called the number to be told that if I didn’t send $600 right now that you were going to hit my Credit Card or Bank Account within 45 minutes for $6000 for the $299 and charges total charges in Texas, Florida and Connecticut. I don’t know anybody in those three states.

and Connecticutcharges. I put a hold on my Credit Card and alerted my bank.
