USPS Imposter Reports & Reviews (705)

I received an email from what looked like usps regardling a found parcel. I have been fighting the postal service over a real lost parcel from November, and have submitted several missing mail requests so when I received this email I thought my parcel was finally found, I clicked to schedule delivery. I live in an apartment complex and they frequently require me to schedule deliveries due to the parcel boxes being full...... I picked a day and there was a small $3 fee which I thought nothing of because my local office seems to charge for everything anyway. I entered my card info into a very legitimate looking usps checkout and was then routed to another very legitimate looking Visa Checkout verification screen.... this screen had my card info filled in from the previous page and asked for my full SSN as well as my DOB and a security question asking my mother’s maiden name.....again all seeming normal except for them asking my full SSN. I keyed in the information, but before hitting submit I decided to look up the tracking provided in the email and then that’s when posts and articles about postal phishing scam scam up...... I immediately locked my debit card and requested a new one but I’m terrified they got the info I keyed in anyway even I I didn’t hit submit. I don’t know if they did yet since I was fast to lock my card, but definitely beware.

As you see, the text tried to make me believe I had something being delivered so you go to fill out the questionaire and I believe it’s a ploy to collect personal information. After filling out the questionnaire you get a choice of crappy products to choose from. Sometimes you have to pay for the shipping. I don’t think the postal service can do this.

Received text saying they are usps and that I needed to click link to confirm delivery for a parcel package sitting in their warehouse or risk additional fees. Contacting usps but I have no shipment sitting in warehouse that should incur any fees

I received a scam text from the United States Postal Service. I won a Play Station 5. They wanted my credit card number to pay for shipping and handling. The amount may have been $1.00. I did not reply. I do not have their phone number.

Person texted me addressing me with a name that is not mine telling me that it was my final notification of a USPS shipment and included a fake number and a date. Included a link for me to click on to go to the sight, but was not a USPS web address.

I received a fake delivery message supposedly originating from USPS that sends you to a phishing site. I managed to click away before the website loaded properly and used anti-virus software to check my phone afterwards, but others might not be as fortunate.

They texted with my real first and last name claiming to be from USPS:

[Your name], important notice for your USPS shipment 6L73G5 from 03/03/2020. Go to: m4svk.info/UENAnGv7Iv

I clicked on the link absent-mindedly because I had a package I was waiting for and immediately closed out on my phone when I realized it wasn’t taking me to USPS’s site. I’m not sure what they got. This is a fake package delivery text.

I received a text message with my name and stating this was a final notification about my USPS delivery from 4/26/20. I then instructed me to proceed to a website link (m4svk.info/UEQWuUdaxb). I contacted the post office and they confirmed they do not contact people in this manner, but they have been getting a lot of reports of this type in the past couple weeks. As I was typing this report, I got another notification from 216-868-6729...

The sender said I had a parcel waiting and to click a link

This is a fake delivery package text message. Please beware, it leads to a link that asks for personal information. We may think this is correct if we order a lot online, which many people do, but it’s not right.

I don’t know what happened and hope that my identity isn’t stolen... very worried
