I received a call from lady, with a low voice and asked if I could hear her. When I said no, she hung up. I believe this is a scam. I did called that number back (1-513-796-6783) When they answered the phone they said that I won a cruise. I said that this was a scam and they hung on me. I just want others to be aware this is happening.

The caller/scammer hung up after I said "yes" to his question: "Is this [my name]"? When I called the number as shown on my caller ID just seconds later, I received a recording saying "the number had been disconnected....". I later learned that this was indeed a scam!

- Walla Walla, WA, USA

I suspect this is one of the "yes" calls. Caller simply said "hey Coffman". This is my last name. When the caller was asked "what is this about", they hang up immediately.

- Haysville, KS, USA

They said their name was Josh and it was something about a cruise or vacation. He then said "can you hear me ok"?

I then hung up. Someone later called the number back and they said it was a survey that was now closed.

Calls everyday saying that we have been selected to lower our credit card interest on our credit card. We do not pay interest on a credit card. It is from a foreign company using phone numbers that when called back are out of service. These are just the numbers from March 6-8,2017. When I talked to the person calling I requested that they remove my number and that they were a scam and they wanted me to hold on, so I hung up. We are on a do not call list. Very ignoring because 2 of the times the number showed up as River Oaks Apart (751-1511) and Johnny Beehner (858-1095). The other times no number. These calls have just been in 3 days. They called also last week.

This is a phone number which answered will give the infamous "this is Jenny am calling long distance. Can you hear me ok?"

I have heard of this scam before. The number is located in Banning, CA.

Robo calls starts with silence then after one says something (I erroneously said the wrong word instead of saying hello i said --- "yes?") the robo voice in a stupid female voice "i was having trouble with my microphone headset' this is a scam to use your voice recorded saying yes to get one's accounts to approve scam charges. Hopefully all my credit cards and bank accounts know of this as they protect me from such fraud typically.

Called my cell phone and asked if I could hear them. Then they hung up.

- Drexel Hill, PA, USA

Voice said hi can you hear me now? I responded yes thinking it was a patient. It wasn't so I hung up be it concerned due to scam going around

- Plymouth, MI, USA

A person(female) called on the phone and asked my wife if her name was (my wife's name). When my wife replied yes, caller hung up. I tried calling the phone number back and it rings once and goes to a busy signal. Tried for 1/2 hour and still got the same results. The call was today 3/7/17 at 6:04pm. I have heard about a scam to get people to say yes so they can use that voice response to get that person signed up for services and send a bill. Using the yes response as authorization for future services.

- Livonia, MI, USA

- Manassas, VA, USA

"Can you hear me" scam/robo call.

- Estero, FL, USA

She told me that I had won some sort of online contrast but I never enter any. Unfortunately at the beginning of the call she asked if I could hear her and I said yes. Then I remembered seeing articles about scammers recording an affirmation. Ugh!

- Tiffin, OH, USA

This company contact me at my home and left a message stating that I was qualified to receive a federal grant. They wanted me to return the call to find out more information.

I did not return the call.

- Denham Springs, LA, USA

My cell phone rang with a local number, the person sounded like they fumbled the phone and said "can you hear me ok?" my office mate advised me it was a scam and it was a recorded message where they just wanted to record me saying "yes." I hung up.

- Portland, OR, USA

I received a phone call from the girl pretending she had phone issues and asking if I could hear her, I said yes before I even thought about it then she went on and it sounded like a recording telling me that I've recently stayed at a hotel and was up for winning a trip or trying to interrupt her and ask questions to see who the heck she was and that's when I realized it was a recording and when I researched issue online I read that people are trying to get you to say yes on a phone call

- Seffner, FL, USA

I keep getting these calls from a business that doesn't ID itself. They say I've been selected to win a free cruise. Then they'll say "Sorry, I can't hear you ; I'm having trouble with my husband. Could you please answer YES and I could transfer you to an attendant right now." I have never answered them as I am aware of the scam about answering yes. These call are really annoying & I wish they would stop!

- Westland, MI, USA

I was at work on a business call. I only answered my cell phone, because my daughter was at the dentist and thought it was her calling to let me know the outcome. I asked the caller to repeat their question but quickly realized it was a recording that starts as soon as you answer phone asking the following questions. This appears to be one of those scammers trying to receive an answer of "YES" to make purchases in your name:

1. Over 18?

2. Annual income of 40,000 or better?

3. Credit card to use for the vacation *

* As soon as I said "NO" in response to the 3rd question, the call was disconnected.

My mom recently had told about the "YES" scam after reading about it on FB, and they attempted to scam me today! I know better than to ever give any kind of personal/credit card information to anyone - no matter what!!!

asked if I could hear him. When I said yes, I realized what I had done, and hung up without getting name of business. No recent phone number was listed in my cell phone. No money was taken at this time, but I hear that they use your voice to accept purchases in the future.
