I was contacted by an "independent recruiter" from [email protected] about a job opportunity. The recruiter was very familiar with my professional experience and background, and presented an opportunity that was a good fit for my career trajectory. However, she claimed the job was not publicly listed, which does not align with how the hiring organization actually conducts business. After receiving my resume, she provided legitimate feedback but then referred me to an executive coach who wanted payment for resume and executive statement writing services. He was unverifiable, used a stock photo in his email signature, and sent screenshots of PayPal requests that appeared highly illegitimate. This played out over two weeks, and at times seemed quite legitimate, but in the end there were too many red flags.
