I have been called twice by a man stated his name was Ray, he was with Independent Process Services. He stated I should call the number 888-752-6207 about legal paperwork that needs to be signed and delivered to me. He gave me a case number. Then he stated that further legal action would be taken against me without my knowledge, if i did not comply. Then he said you have been served.

Well you can't serve someone over a voicemail. This is how I knew it was a scam. Real process servers do not call you. Plus they have ways to find your home adresss and they will serve legal paperwork that way. They do not serve you via phone, or email. People please be aware of the law. Scammers will tell all kinds of lies to get you on the hook.

The same person, 'Hart from Independent Process Services' has been calling my family members and asking for my name and SSI saying I have a lawsuit against me and they're trying to collect time sensitive documents. When we finally answered and called back, they said they'd be sending police to my home if I didn't make a payment. They wouldn't tell me what it was about, only that I would have to call a separate toll-free number with a case number to prevent "further action" and to make a payment.

A person named “Wendy” with a heavy foreign accent from Independent Process Services called and left a voicemail. They knew my first and last name. They stated the following:

“Please, listen closely to this message. The call is intended for (used my name). Regarding with a file number 2622330813. This is Wendy with independent process services. We're calling to make our final attempt, contact you in reference to the delivery of time sensitive documents. This documents do require a signature for proper service and delivery. To make any changes on the location or to receive information prior to the delivery, you'll need to contact the issuing firm at 844-269-1309. Make sure you reference your case number one calling in. Failure to contact the firm will result in further actions taking place without your knowledge or consent. You have been notified.”
