Not filing a complaint, just want to let everyone to know what a SHAM this Co. appears to be!

I called an online phone # last week listed for Avast Customer Service and got Joe Simon and told him my problem. He went into my computer and did a lot of clean-up and added a few programs he said I needed to the tune of $99.00 after getting him down from $400.00. I paid and went on my way until I called Avast Customer Service today and found they had never heard of Joe Simon or his "Co" and they had no record of my $99.00. And I thought, 'couldn't be, Joe was so nice and charming. I'm an 82 yo widow and appreciate all the 'charm' I can get but this was deceiving and deceitful and I feel like a fool after I called the # on the rcpt. today, 1-877-960-4041, explained my position, asked for a refund and was denied. Therefore, this letter. I hope this helps someone avoid being as gullible as me. Judy g

A company called Techsvite (they state they are located in CA) subjects a Trojan horse virus on your computer - a popup with the phone number of 877-960-4041 appears with instructions to call for Microsoft support help. The unsuspecting victim calls and the company which again implies that they are Microsoft support and will clean your computer up, or that they are Microsoft support and will transfer you to someone to help. They remotely login and then rush the victim through a variety of forms they must sign, request your credit card number, and charge you $398. In my mom's case, after she stated she could not afford that, they reduced the amount to $298. They never identified themselves as Techsvite.

I called Microsoft Support and they confirmed that they never transfer a call to an outside service, nor would they have a popup appear requesting you to call them.
