I clicked on the link and it asked for not only my social security number, credit card number, password, address etc. I called Spectrum and they confirmed they don't ask for ssn or ccard numbers via email.

I will be calling my credit card company but am not sure how to protect my social security number.

Scammers called my 94 year old mother telling her that her phone bill was past due and they were going to turn it off. My mother told him that she would have to call someone to take care of it...he then said the check that was sent was not signed and that’s why it was past due and asked for a credit card number to take care of the debt. My mother knows I don’t write checks to pay bills and would never give out a CC number. She told them to go a head and do what they needed to and he hung up..

They called and said they were from Spectrum, when I asked them to prove that they were calling from Spectrum they hung up on me.

Received this email and called Spectrum to ask if they sent it. They said they did not and not to open it. They said they would not ask you to verify your info. When you click on the “from” line it pops up a contact card with the email address:

[email protected]

but my actual Spectrum contact card only has a phone number.

At 10:03 am 9/04/19 while away a voice message was recorded while away from home. The voice mail stated Spectrum Customer Care concerning recent changes to my account. My reaction is what for I was just online viewing my account billing in the 48 hours. I called Spectrum at a number provided on their website to ask or report possible scam. I was told the number 855-707-7328 is not theirs and was grateful Of my contacting them. For caller ID shows that is Spectrum doing the calling. I find some thing is wrong for I do have nomorobo for the land line and it still got thru.

I spoke to someone for 30 minutes yesterday about the installation of our internet and they gave me time slots of one hour each to choose from so I chose 11 a.m. to noon because that's when I could get off of work to come home for them to come and install it. today after I had got off of work and come home at 10:45 I got a call at 11:20 saying that they could no longer arrive when they are initially said and that they can arrive 3 hours later when I would be at work. when I spoke to a supervisor after the fact they told me what they can do is give us a $20 credit towards our installation fee of 49.95. the big scam of this is that I was never told that there was an installation fee at all so they were going to charge my credit card without even telling me and they came 3 hours late, I don't know how a business can charge you when they don't actually tell you that they're going to charge you and then when they're late and made you get off of work to come home to accommodate them, they told me that they're going to charge me even though I was never told I would get charged. I don't know how a business can operate like this.

The text message was ... "Dear Customer, Avail 50% discount on your SPECTRUM bill by redeeming this Promo code: EBAY. Call at 1-855-716-8998 before the promo expires today. SPECTRUM".

I was instructed that my monthly billing would be reduced to $88/month and alll I had to do is to buy an EBAY Gift Card for my current billing (which they knew) and then call another number 1-855-636-8316 with the "Authorization code": SPE2341. I was also told that if I did so before 7pm today, I would receive a $100 gift card as well.

Of course, the real SPECTRUM knew nothing about this and confirms it is a real SCAM ...

This man came to my house and rang the doorbell but when I did not answer he called my phone and told me he was an employee from Spectrum Internet and he was here to disconnect my internet if I didn't pay my bill. I told him I would call Spectrum and pay them over the phone but he said "No you have to pay ME in person." So I told him I was not going to pay some random stranger and I would be calling Spectrum to handle this matter. He then left from my home. I called Spectrum, my internet service provider, and they said they don't ever send employees to customer's doors to take payment like that. They said it sounds like a scam. This same man has attempted to scam me like this a few years ago at another address I used to live at.

I called Spectrum internet and was told by the person that answered that I had to pay $4.95 if I wanted to talk to a rep. I would then receive a $100 gift certificate. But I could not talk to the rep unless I gave him the credit card number and paid $4.95

A foreigner called from a local number stating he was from Spectrum and asked could I hear him. Then he stated they were running a promotion on cable/internet/phone $99.00 for a year. He then asked me what cable company was I with and did I have cable/internet/phone. When I answered "yes" the phone hung up!

I have been getting frequent cell phone calls saying I was authorized to receive installation of cable tv/phone/internet. They keep saying my appointment for installation needs to be confirmed, and that someone 18 years of age and older has to be there and have a government issued ID. They call at least 3 times a day and say the same thing over and over. I told them to take my name off their calling list and they said they couldn't unless I give them my address. I told them I would not give my address and if they keep calling I would turn them into BBB.

When they first called, they said they were from Spectrum TV. They also use different area codes and numbers.

I received a call on my car phone at 5:05 p.m.Last night. The phone number is 866-263-1101. The caller said Hello I am representing Spectrum. I am not a Spectrum customer. How are you. I answered OK. The call was disconnected. Started to ring. I wanted to report the call.

Called pretending to be Spectrum having discount deals. Tried to get me to say "yes" so they could record my voice.

What they did was to offer a internet, voice and cable package for $89.99. I was being distracted while on the phone, and I said "that's for new customers only, right?" and he said "can you confirm that you're an existing customer?" I said 'yes' and he hung up.

The accent sounded like it might have been from India / Pakistan.

This scammer called my wife asking if she would like to sign up for Spectrum and that they could give her a really good deal with all the movie packages. My wife thought it was to good to be true and told them that she was busy right now at work and she would call back later. The scammer insisted that she would call her back when she was available to talk. After she hung up with the scammer, she called the listed Oceanic/Spectrum cable company number and talked to a representative who confirmed that it was probably a scam.

Reasons were:

1. The bundled package that the scammer was trying to offer her was impossible to offer at the price she was telling her.

2. Scammer called my wife from a number that is not associated with Oceanic/Spectrum

3. Scammer insisted that she would call my wife back

I believe they are trying to phish personal information such as credit card, personal information, and addresses to rob houses. They have tried to call my wife numerous times and actually called my wife with a different phone number as well each time leaving no messages. Please pass this information to Honolulu BBB. I don't want others having credit cards, houses robbed, etc. because of these scammers.

A strange man who looked like a foreigner knocked on my door while my baby was asleep. I watched him through the peephole. He had an accent and I didn't understand his name. I told him to leave and he left his card. I called the apartment manager who said there is a strict "no solicitation" policy here. He was gone before the manager could say anything and he had another man with him. I reported his vehicle to the police just in case. I had called the number and left a message to see who it was and what they wanted. I called Charter who confirmed he was not one of their employees. He has a South Carolina address, a Florida phone number, a non-charter email, and was here at my apartment in North Carolina (and all the others, probably trying to sell cable that most of us already have) He called back (while my baby was asleep again, go figure) and I hung up on him and texted him what I knew. He got defensive and began threatening me via text message saying he would get me for harassment and slander of the company (he showed up at MY door and started all this). I have screenshots of that conversation if you would like to see them. Send me an email at [email protected]. He made me feel very uneasy, and unsafe. Something isn't right.

A letter stating "Billing Statement Enclosed" on front and back of envelope. Both myself and my 78 year old mother-in-law received a Spectrum statement summary (identical to a typical bill) for billing for service 11/22/16-12/21/16. I don't have Spectrum and it can be very misleading and confusing to the elderly. While it does state no payment due it comes with a perforated detachable segment for mailing. It may not be illegal but it sure sucks of a terrible advertising attempt.

Have been receiving bills stating I have an outstanding Credit Card Balance. Now have received a phone call from a Gina Roberts w/ Special Accounts Division of Spectrum regarding two Mastercards (Fidelity Bank Debit Cards). Stated these cards are connected to a phone number. Need to call back ASAP to 800-992-7799.
